  2. SC Island

    A simple island map with palms and bushes. I had really little time to work on it these months, so it's not as fully developed as I would have wanted, but I really wanted to bring out something for the contest and overall I feel like it's a nice map to relax to the sweet music of Manaan and the sounds of ocean waves. The most glaring issue is the lack of any lighting (the island shadows are baked on the terrain model), and the trees don't have collisions. It's really mostly for eyecandy with all the trees and for sniping from treacherous bushes or unsuspecting horsetails.
    An issue I can't really fix is with tree LODs, which are broken in singleplayer.
    I also included the original .map file, in case anyone wanted to mess around with it.
    To install, unpack the file sc_island.pk3 into your GameData/Base folder. To uninstall, remove the file sc_island.pk3 from the GameData/Base folder.
    Feel free to use any of the trees and bushes in this map - that's also a reason I wanted to bring this out, in case anyone was interested.

  5. SJC Coruscant Adventures Pack (Night and Day)

    Well as a lot of you will remember I started this map way back in 2008 and have been working on and off with it ever since so it's been a long time coming! Some of you have followed the progress on my YouTube page
    and website so I would like to thank those of you who have commented and offered words of encouragement and provided ideas etc (you know who you are). Well the map is finally in a condition where I am happy to release it!
    I have included areas from both the movies and the TV series so avid fans can look out for those. A brief list of locations throughout the map:
    The Outlander Club, complete with 6 city apartments (Vos Gesal Street in Coruscant's Uscru Entertainment District)
    Downtown Coruscant as seen in Season 2 of the Clone wars (Including cafe, night club with balcony, 4 apartments.
    Cad Bane apartment (or at least the place he was seen shortly after killing Jedi Master Ord Enisence.
    Upper garage areas
    Lower Garage and cargo area
    Underground subway / swoop track
    Underground Rancor / Duel arena
    Stolen Noobian star fighter landing pad. (made use of the queens Starship I created in Radiant years ago, its not great so I updated it a little)

    The map uses almost 100% custom textures, and I spent many an hour in Photoshop getting things just right. Textures go a long way in making a map look good and help get the atmosphere you want. I also spent a lot of time
    working on the lighting and used a combination of sun entities and spot lights, coupled with specular shaders and envmaps you can get some cool results. I added lighting (bump map) effects to some of the textures in Photoshop
    once I placed them in Radiant so I could work out the angles etc, many of the lighting effects on the textures are actually part of the texture rather than part of the lighting compile.
     
    I did what I could to keep good FPS in this map, and on the most part (at least on my RIG) I think they are pretty respectable; however I warn you know, this is Coruscant its full of flashing signs, neon lights etc so
    PLAY WITH DYNAMIC GLOW ON AT YOUR OWN RISK! You will find the map runs a lot smoother on slower systems if you disable dynamic glow (run jka open the console and type devmap 2010_16 or devmap 2010_16a once loaded open the console again and type r_dynamicGLow 0 to turn it off, to turn it back on again
    type r_dynamicGlow 1).
     
    I have to say though the map was designed for more powerful rigs as the neon lights and excitement of coruscant looks so much better in full Glow!
     
    Throughout the subway you will see a number of consoles, these will spawn speeders to help you get around, if you are unlucky enough to get your ride taken from you (or destroyed by he useable turrets) you should'nt have to walk too far to find
    another console so you can spawn another!
     
    Finally there are a couple of hidden secrets in this map, a couple of hidden spawnable at-st's and a jetpack, shouldn�¢ï¿½ï¿½t be too hard to find!

    Years and YEARS ago I had this really crazy dream that was persistent for quiet some time, I eventually built it and released it to Jk2files "Arrevanous 7". YEARS later I bring you the "BETA" for V2, official release will be Christmas night. In the final there will be a secondary night version with more snow.
    I would like to take a moment and note that this is the same beta I released earlier this year to the JAWA clan for testing. Many thing have changed since in my own personal version however atm it is not quiet ready. Theirs a few hidden areas and secrets in this map, including one that's NOT finished. However its sort of a teaser of whats to come in the final release for you folks.
    Btw if you have qeffects this map looks even more amazing. Everything in this map is custom (some thing are base textures altered). There also was LOL a spelling error on one of the crystals prints but I was tired so please excuse that.
    This map uses a few of my own secret tricks, including a new weather system/effect I designed (I've worked to make this much better since this Beta Btw), so please don't just go ripping things off, learn and ask permission please.

  7. YT-2000e transport freighter

    I was approached by a JKA player named DarthValeria about making a map for his Machinima project.
    He wanted a YT-2000 Freighter.
    I went ahead and built this map using the YT-2000 Freighter as basis, and drew some inspiration from Sith-J-Cull's Falcon.
    No weapons added or items, Map supports Duel and casual FFA, but mostly designed with Roleplay in mind.

    Description: *Chinese New Year Contest 2018 Entry*
    This is an FFA map modeled after various examples of Chinese/Asian architecture. The layout is heavily inspired by the temple in Dragon Valley from Battlefield 4. There are guns, ammo, and health pickups set up around the map for actual weapons FFAs. I've also added a duel area you can reach by pressing use on the middle obelisk next to the upper building. There are no secrets on this map, and the FPS can drop quite a bit, depending on your computer and game settings.
    I'd like to give a huge thanks to Bucky for compiling the map, taking screenshots that weren't from a potato resolution, and providing words of encouragement for the past month. Without him, this map would probably have taken 8 days to compile on my computer (if I even got that far!). Also, thanks to Wolf for testing the map in its early stages.
     
    Bugs and other things (full list in readme):
    -Because the map is essentially a large, open box, FPS isn't great. Dynamic glow will tank it. So even though things look really cool with glow turned on, I wouldn't recommend playing with it.
    -The lighting is a little bit... weird. I made the lights too bright and it shows.
    -There is actually botrouting on this map, but it wasn't really tested.
    -I only tested the map in MP, so if someone really wants it in SP and it doesn't work, let me know.

  9. Single Player Maps to MP

    A few maps re-set back up for use, this time for the Multiplayer Portion of Jedi Academy. Roleplay, or whatever comes to your mind when utilizing these maps. Might be a bit messy but compiled and setup for multiplayer so no weird script errors, doors that don't work now work, and so forth. More maps to come later on potentially. Might still be bugs but the maps should all work well enough.
    Warning: Because these maps are re-setup for MP you might run into possible crashes. These were loaded up real fast with /devmap, not through the
    scripts setup for the map.

    0:10 - entry
    0:20 - functional main hall
    0:30 - mirror arena with a button to roll in the mirrors
    0:50 - poster button that also roll in the mirrors 
    1:00 - the platform in the center has a button for a pole
    1:10 - button, left from the entry removes the center platform
    1:25 - the yoda poster left from the entry spawns a kyle on the center
    1:40 - button, right from the entry adds some extra poles in the center
    1:45 - the yoda poster right from the entry adds some extra poles around teh circle and in the center
    2:15 - on the oposite side, the vader poster pulls up a floor of glas wich covers the main hall
    as you see, you can use the mainhall arena, in diffrent functionaly ways as you wish
    the buttons itself i just randomly placed i was aiming forward for some all in one spot or just admin only button  ¯\_(%)_/¯

    I decided to try getting back into map creation for JKA as a side hobby.
    So i made this FFA map just to get a few things out of my system.
    The map is Korriban themed, and very FFA centric, with a duel room for those who wish to just chill and duel.

  14. Expedition

    This is an academy map that is meant to be similar to my first map exploration, and the two maps' layouts are similar in many ways. The basic idea is a Yavin-ish style academy map that is set in the mountains. It has basic duel rooms, a ffa area as well as some climbing challenges. Map\file for both jk3 and jk2.
     
    ATTENTION: You may have trouble loading this map or you may not. If you do, try some of the following:
    1) You may have to change com_hunkmegs to 128 to run this map (and restart your jk2 when you
    reset it.) Alternatively you can type set com_hunkmegs 128. You can make these changes in you console or you can open the jk2mpconfig file to make the change more permanent in

    Most of the textures in duelroom are from the default jk2 Yavin folder (or jka.) I needed to put them into a custom textures folder so that I could apply custom shaders so although there is a ton of textures in this map, most are default ones. The remainder of textures I made myself or got from the following sources.
    I used JediMediator's efects file, gfx files, sound files, and textures for his giant bonfire looking thing that he used in his
    inferno map since he released it for public use.

    Boddo made me a tutorial for how to make the CG-ish looking brick textures in the main room called n-wall1, n-wall2 and n-wall3.
    I also used Boddo's "table" texture and two of his wood textures called ddtree2 and ddtree3, which are downloadable at his www.cyberpunkcafe.com website. He also made the slablock series of five textures for this map.
    Boddo also made the rustic_semitransparent that went on my pipes and its env texture called envmap3.
    Boddo made the island room that you teleport to from the bar, its shader file called expl3terr, and its textures.
    I used Mars Marshall's bantha model, which can be downloaded here:

    Rhiom helped me convert the bantha model to an md3 file because vehicles don't work in jk2.
    I used NAB622's cave prefabs in the map that can be obtained at the following URL:

    In this updated version, I got a max edgelines error so I converted his caves into a massive .ase model, and now the caves look
    slightly glitchy but not too bad.
    Loda and BK made the basic spacing the strafe pads distancing, although I modified it,
    and they made the "crete" textures."
    The texture called "atl_wood" is Szico's Atlantica (got permission and readme included.)

    Might as well release this first piece that I worked on. I was working on this just before putting my attention on the JoF Temple.
    There was a time when JoF server map was permanently Jedi's Home II. I wanted something more, so I decided to make an epic map that would replace the JH2 with superior fun and function. 
    I was innocent and did not know anything about fps or area portals back then. This was the first map I attempted to release, and this is the first version that was tested with a group of people. Most them had unplayable fps, at least in the above portion of the map; the underground was playable by many. I dropped this map at that point. The map has only ambient light, so it might be bit dark. 
    I really do enjoy the layout still ^^ This definitely is a piece of me I put a lot of heart in. Wanted to upload it here for safe keeping 🙂 Check it out if you like

    This is a FIXED version, if you had played this map from jk3files.com that was version with several bugs. I this version all those bugs was fixed.
     
    About this map:
    It's a large city map with several building you can get it and a lot of nice dueling places.
     
    I think this good map for:
    Role Playing (I think this map mostly was used on RP servers)
    Dueling (Has several very nice dueling spaces/arena, some of them isn't so easy to find)
    Snipers fight (You can get on most of the buidling, perfect for sniping) (some buildings has secret teleports to get on it)
    Training vs NPC (You can find 2 spaces where you can spawn enemy or friendly npc)
    And for sure HAVING FUN! (A lot secret places, and places to explore)

    First try to find a maze and then move on hint (Ghetto or Garden)

    1) Extract the Folder
    2) Copy or replace ffa_yavinplaza.pk3 in Gamedata/base directory
    3) Enjoy and play with friends or inspect the map in solo game
     
    Also you can use console to start the map type: /map ffa_yavinplaza
