The Academy v3

The third map in my "The Academy" series.
It's basically a heavily modified and updated version of the_academy_v2, most of the things that were in v2 are in v3, except they either look different and/or have been upgraded.
This new version includes:
A Dueling area with three seperate rooms for dueling or sparring.
A main courtyard area for spawning and hanging out - the most central area of the map.
A "classroom" fit to cater for most, if not all of the Classes held at thejediacademy.net
An NPC sentry droid room which is good for practicing aerial attacks or riposite blocking.
A lobby area containing a few of the combo pads from the last map to help people teach/learn combos.
A "pit" room where people can duel or FFA in an area where movement is restricted and one wrong move can mean certain doom.
A large outdoor area which can be used for pretty much anything, a lush environment that can be just as deadly as it is tranquil.
An underground bunker area which is perfect for either all-out-battles (very gunner-friendly) or stealth tactics.
An administration area accessable only through the Jedi Academy's JAE mod's teleportation abilities. The area overlooks the main courtyard, has a private training room and a control room to lock/open various public areas of the map.
A "Garden of JA Fame" area paying hommage to many of the great people who have walked the halls of thejediacademy.net. The area also serves as a memorial to a dear friend of ours named Vladarion, who tragically died in a car accident over Christmas 2003.

I would like to thank everyone in the entire JK3 community who have been waiting for this map, for your seemingly infinite patience. I'm sorry that it has taken this long for the map to be released and I hope that you won't be dissapointed. The map is built to cater specifically to the Jedi Academy, but I cannot ignore the huge amount of positive feedback I have either recieved, or heard about, so this one goes out to all of you guys.

Heavily modified update of my last map - 'the_academy', many areas are either new or have been totally redesigned.
This map was built specifically for training and socialising.
The Jedi Academy has numerous training facilities each used for training in different areas of skill.
There are three Jedi Duelling rooms which can be used for engaged duelling or Full Force battles, each have an observation
deck with health and shield pickups.
A 'Pit' room where people can duel/ffa on small ledges which are scattered around - be careful though, if you fall off, you
don't come back. 😉
A gunning battleground, which is a large, open area with a few obstacles, littered with weapons and ammo for all your
'blow up every dude on the Server' pleasures.
There is a Bar, a Ceremonial Hall, a Combo training facility, two NPC spawning areas and an administrator's area whereby
you can lock down certain areas of the map and change the map music.
One section of the Map has been dedicated to a dear friend of ours at the JA, Vladarion - This great man was tragically
taken away from us as a result of a car accident on Boxing day, 2003. - Rest in Peace, my Brother.

Since v1, there have been alot of addresses where FPS is concerned. With this version, FPS should remain solid and high
in all areas.
The buttons that are labelled I, II and III in the control room will control the locks for the privacy booths in the bar.

Sith-J-Cull's Stargate SGC

My long started Star Gate map... Its not what I set out to do with it, the Gate room and command room are as faithful to the earlier episodes of SG1 as I could get them.. I spent a lot of time on the textures and effects, the gate effect kind of works, but there is no proper dialing ... I found a way to reflect the moving event horizon in the windows from inside the gate room, so be sure to check that out.. I also spent a lot of time on an animap shader to get the watery effect on the gate.. Hope you like it.
The planet at the other end of the gate is just my reworked Naboo Crystal Sanctuary map that I used for quickness, however I added a bunch of new effects, sky box and scenery which was inspired at the time by the home planet of the Navei from Avatar.
No doubt this map will get bashed for the fact that its not as playable as others as far as flow goes.... but I treat it more as an experiment in recreating a location that I love from a show that was amazing.
The 'Naboo Sanctuary' part of the map, which basically incorporates one of my older maps contains some textures by SIMONOC, mainly his vegetation textures and some brick work textures. The original credit can be found in the readme of Naboo Sanctuary that is uploaded here.

Cloud City Ambush

My I present Cloud City ambush.....
Loosley based off a location from Star Wars Infinites the Empire Strike back comic... it features a number of rooms including Landos office complete with a desk that has the carbonite frozen form of Boba Fett as a custom texture!! In addition I added a huge chamber which is supposed to resemble the room where Han and Company fought Boba fett in.
I'll admit I was going to relase this sometime in March but life has kept me busy and I have been buzzing with many additional ideas. But here it is now for Download
Installation: place the Pk3 into your gamedata Base folder
For MD and SWGL users just place it in the respective MD/ GL folders it should work fine.

Qiras Lounge / Valora City

Welcome to the finest bar and lounge in Valora City.
This map, namely the city in the skyportal has been a work in progress for a long time. I guess you can say its an experimental map, I've always wanted to build a city and decided to compromise a bar for now otherwise this would never get released. The skyportal is fully animated and the entire map is almost all custom textures and shaders. I did borrow one of Szico's tree models though lol. Valora City almost feels like a personal diary to me, Its been my project that I've turned to when times get stressful or tough or whenever I just feel inspired by either Star Citizen or visiting a city in the real world. This city and the hard drives its been on have seen numerous real world cities too. Like a real city, it has survived and evolved through a hard drive wipe, homelessness (working on it in a tree house was pretty fun actually), A global pandemic, and my own stupidity (Screwing up the texture coordinates after upscaling a texture.) I came to realize that for me that for 7 years, this city was like the potted plant in the movie Leon the Professional. For this reason I've included the .map file.
Features
Almost everything in this city is fully animated, from the skybox to the interfaces.
Some rooms you are able to dim the lights through the holographic switches on the wall
You can turn the music off in the bar, (switch is on the right side of the bar itself)
If I get enough encouragement I will work on a version 2 where I will include some of the features I wanted to add originally such as a glass elevator that goes down to the street level. (Yes the skybox can already sell that illusion.) and possibly a penthouse. For now, I wanted to make sure this map sees the light of day in the form of a release.
This map looks best when r_dynamicGlow 1 is enabled
(Note:) This map only works on patched versions of Jedi Academy, For some reason I can not for the life of me get the shaders to work on the default steam install. It seems to work just fine on OpenJK and EternalJK

Lucas himself for Coruscant which made me fantasize about Ecumenopolis like planets since I was a kid, Chris Roberts for inspiring me with the cities of Star Citizen (namely ArcCorp, Lorville, and New Babbage) and continuing to push myself to constantly recreate my work.

About a year ago, I decided to start tinkering around with the SP Map t3_rift,
not expecting it to go much of anywhere. Well, here I am, a year later; I have converted
that SP map into a fully usable RPG map, of a Jedi Enclave built into an underground
fissure. It took me a long time to perfect...many of the areas went revision after
revision to get them to their final state.

This map is intriguingly interesting. I found it very fun and peaceful to play on. This is an excellent made roleplaying map for Jedi Academy. Hopefully many of you have already downloaded this map, but I felt it should be uploaded here anyways. There are plenty of areas to search and get lost in as well as train. This map has been on several RP servers recently so here's the map. There are bugs like missing textures but overall this map is great. It is a re-map of the Rift map but better made. So if you like to get lost this map is for you!

Jump_Green_Pro

This is a small vertical climbing/strafing map inspired by Acrobat's various mountains. It does have defrag triggers so you can time your runs in jaPro. Although it is definitely meant for JKA/JKO movement, you can probably run it in some other types if you get creative.
Bugs and other things:
-The start trigger placement is not ideal and can be abused... whoops.
-There's no anti-fall damage shader so if you have fall dmg enabled on your server, you'll (probably) die.
-There are a few places where slants meet the walls. If you land in these places after particularly bad jumps, you will get stuck.
-I've also included the .map file. I'll not have you people decompiling and destroying the texture alignment. >

Alright, it's been almost 12 years since i submitted jumpxtreme3 so I think it's about time i submit a newer version of the map.
What's new in this version is that i have added a few new areas and had the map be more compatable with jka in some ways. But what is perhaps the biggest change is that timers have been added everywhere throughout the map. So you can now race all of the different challenges if you want! Just make sure noone is in the camera room and pressing buttons to mess with you while you race. I love the camera room too much to have it deleted, sorry everyone!
Here is some info for those of you who haven't played any of my previous jumpxtreme maps:
Jumpxtreme4 is a jump challenge map, the challenges vary in difficulty from challenge to challenge. Some challenges are straightforward and easy while others can hard in itself or be difficult to figure out what to do. There are some secrets in the map as well, but discovering all of them may be too hard to do by yourself. There is a control room/camera room and a council room as well.
Here is a list of what the letters in the map mean:
B=Beginner (as in "for Beginners")
E=Easy
H=Hard
A=Arc jump room
X=Xtreme
D=Duelroom
Beta testing has been done by Acrobat and Vrael. In conclusion, every jump is possible. However, some challenges such as the X part is for advanced jumpers only.

Simulated Scenarios

A smaller map I made for a "lesson" in my RP Community.
The lesson itself was "moral dilemmas" where they Jedi students would watch a scene unfolding and then discuss whether or not they thought the people involved in the scenes acted in a "morally good" or "morally bad" light.
The Grid like texture is what we use to indicate that it's a "simulation" since the students enter a room full of this texture on our temple server and are then "transported" by means of the Simulator, as it phases out and they are sent to the new map.
This could also be used as a small duel map.
Installation Instructions
- Place the pk3 inside your JKA installations base/gamedata directory
Editing rights
- The .map file is included, which may be edited as seen fit. All I request is that credit is given when redistributing.

Description:
This is my first solo FFA & TFFA map that I made within a single week, for our annual Pilot Events based on Raven Software's Siege_Destroyer map.
Huge thanks to PreFXDesigns for the ship textures and levelshot, Milamber for the skyboxes, Diego for the balance testing and Zefilus for the art posters.
I am happy with how the map turned out. The only thing I wish we had been able to do was import vehicle sounds from Battlefront 2 or something similar.
All ships are uniquely designed to be faster and offer variation through two specials, whilst still having equal handling in terms of turn speed.

The PK3 comes with four versions:
JoFs-GWingV2 is the best framerate running map with only 1 huge Stardestroyer and 1 smaller Stardestroyer.
JoFs-GWingV2Fleet is the mid framerate map with 2 huge Stardestroyers and 3 smaller Stardestroyers.
JoFs-GWingV2Armada is the low framerate map with 3 huge Stardestroyers and 5 smaller Stardestroyers.
PilotEvent is simply the Armada file, duplicated only to avoid spoiling the levelshot.
Also a big thanks to JamyzGenius for the Death Star inspired Demo Hangar based on the JK2 demo and to Mjt for aiding us with the skybox.

Known bug(s) :
- Vehicle extensions too large simply means you have too many vehicles in your base folder. While OpenJK is not necessary, it is highly recommended to increase that limit.
- Singleplayer might not load properly due to a statue having a too long filename length (MAX_QPATH). This is also fixed with OpenJK.
Otherwise, simply remove the PK3 from base to be able to play again.
