  1. Jester

    Hello!!

I made this character based on an old drawing I did some time ago.

I worked closely with AshuraDX to fix some bugs and got help with the shader setup and an introduction
to how to mask the TC_environment which gave a pretty interesting result.
Ashura also retopologized the torso of the character due to some issues with the
    topology.
The reason being that Einar and I tried a different workflow, to cut up the character before
weight painting it, which actually proved to create more problems than it solved.
There were visible seams all around that Ashura fixed.
I would therefore like to credit:
    - Einar who spent a lot of time trying to problemsolve something that was wrong with our workflow
    - AshuraDX for the mentioned help and for being a huge support to my work.
The model is rather lowpoly so I decided there was no need for LODs.

If you want to follow the progress of the model then I have made a post you can check out for a more detailed breakdown of my process.

This model is rather old now since it was made earlier this year and I have been meaning to upload it for a while, but never got around to it.
Either way I hope you like it 🙂

  2. Anakin & Ahsoka (Tales of The Jedi)

"The best way I can protect you, is teaching you how to protect yourself."
After finishing Tales of the Jedi, I fell in love with Anakin and Ahsoka all over again. Their updated models in the show were looking real nice, so I wanted to take a stab at their Clone Wars outfits. From Anakin's early season clone armor, to his season 3 outfit. As well as Ahsoka's light alternate outfit. Will try to update soon to fix some clipping I noticed but didn't have time to fix. Enjoy!
Install Instructions: Put the "ZZ- Anakin & Ahsoka (TOTJ).pk3 " inside your base folder.

  3. Nameless Ghost

A nameless eldritch horror ghost thingy. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be, it just kinda popped up as I sculpted it. Inspired by the Screecher from the Lasting Light mod for Doom II.
    It includes an NPC, nameless.
To install, unpack nameless.pk3 into your GameData/Base folder. To uninstall, remove nameless.pk3 from your GameData/Base folder.

  4. Count Dooku (Tales of the Jedi)

"I want to bring peace and order to the Galaxy." -- After seeing the trailer for Tales of the Jedi, I wanted to make a kitbash of Dooku in his canon Jedi days, leading to his eventual departure from the Order entirely. Don't mind the shadows in the pic, was the angle of the lighting, and the clean shaven texture lol. It ain't the best atm. Will try to update when I get the chance.  Enjoy!

  5. Resistance Trooper

I have seen an unfinished version of this model somewhere around here (without a DL link) when I was looking for it. So I thought I try to create one on my own nonetheless some pieces were lacking. Thus I asked my friend Mat Gaunt once more, who sculpted the helmet and the vest, the rest I kitbashed together.

  8. Guardian Shell

    Hello again

I have made another model based on drawings I made years ago. This has been a passion project for a while and I finally felt ready to pick up this challenge.

    _________
    - Background

I started drawing this character on and off in 2016, before I knew anything about Zbrush or how to model anything like that. I have since become acquainted with Zbrush and other programs and finally felt ready to dive into this one.
The extra challenge was to make this for jka which has some obvious limitations.
These games back then didn't use PBR material, so I had to bake down the texture from the curvature, thickness, AO, Normal map, roughness etc. into Diffuse, Specular and Emission this was all possible with the help of AshuraDX(Rend2 does, but not everybody is using that).
I have made 3 LODs in addition to the original mesh, 100%, 50%, 25%, 12%. The lowest LOD was 1600 tris, made to improve on performance for the other players.
What's most important for these old games is actually the vert count. If it's anything above 10 000 then it's likely to crash whoever has the model. This is around 8700 verts, but I made LODs anyway just to be sure.

This is not the first model I've made with these limitations, but by far the most complicated.
    _______
    - A short description of the character

So to further explain the model. I was thinking that it's a kind of shell that is being driven by a man on its back. The man is long dead, but has some kind of transference of his soul or whatever to the shell of the being to prolong his life.

    ______
    - Design choice

As for the design of the character. It may appeal to some and some it may not, but I think it's important to remember what the aim is for the character.
I think what contributes to the busy-ness of the design may be the empty space or lack thereof. Like some spaces for the eye to rest and this character definitely doesn't give the viewer much of that.
It's generally a good exercise to think of how your character would look if you couldn't express them with so many details, even after removing them you should be left with a discernible shape.

Like pyramid head, even without details you would still recognize the character.

It's a good point to strive toward, to be able to see what it is without the details only going by the silhouette or the negative space.
Some of my previous works have been easier to tell, but this is a bit different. If I wanted to make it different, I would make certain aspects of the character more prominent so it's easier to recognise and it would be easier to understand the model.
My goal with this design was to make details so complicated that they kind of disappear in the background. So that the character becomes one with the environment which is also a valid aim I would say.

It's a fine line of when you have too little or too much, which probably depends on the style you're going for. Some characters are very maximalistic on purpose.

  9. Ben Swolo

Everyone's favourite meme from The Last Jedi.
EXE Noob came up with the idea, he kitbashed parts of the original Kylo Ren to the topless body and I helped weight painting/rigging it.
Sounds ripped from MBII - and beyond that from Adam Driver himself of course.
Special thanks to HapSlash, Plasma, and Lervish for the original mesh pieces we utilized to make this gag real. 🙂

  10. Calo Nord

I co-worked on this one with Mat Gaunt (also known as Mandalorian). We visualized Calo's outfit looking quite similar to JA's Human Mercenary. So I did a fast reskin of it, then he sculpted the head mesh from scratch. With some rigging corrections and edits to the body, it all came together. Thus, it is officially the first non-ported Calo Nord model out there.

Also...watch out! I heard he can only count to 3.... and he's hard to kill! 😉

  11. Vader Redesign 001

    Hello

I have worked on a model based off of Chenthooran Nambiarooran's many concepts. He participated in an art challenge to redesign Darth Vader where he posted a different concept every day. I was very impressed at the time by the quantity of his work and I simply chose the first of his many concepts to try and bring into this game.

Like with my other submissions this has been sculpted in ZBrush, retopologized in Maya, weighted in both Maya and Blender and textured in Substance Painter.

    Here are some images:

  12. Callieope 'Cal' Enesic

This is a character that I created to play at the JEDI role-playing community between 2016 and 2020.
I rarely play the character anymore, and I hope that someone in the community might be able to make use of this model or even reskin or expand on it.
There are only three versions: cal, cal/robe, and cal/hood. The ponytail sometimes clips through the torso, but not so much that it bothered me.
Callieope 'Cal' Enesic is half-human, half-Firrerreo; and you can read her full backstory here: https://www.jediholo.net/archives/persons/cal-enesic/#biography

  13. Alien Mercenaries

Inspired by Mat Gaunt/Mandalorian's Alien Head Resource, I had the opportunity to make an alien squad spanned on both Rebel and Imperial sides.
The head meshes are based on Monsoontide's Rebel Commando model and Raven's Human Merc model from Jedi Academy.
Aqualish, Abyssin, Advozse, Arcona, Bith, Duros, Gotal, Quarren, Snivvian by Mat Gaunt.
    Sullustan by Scerendo.
    Nikto by NumberWan and Olgo.
    Kaleesh by Hoodz.
Devaronian by AshuraDX, outfit reskin by Spaghetti.
Twi'lek by BioWare being a KotOR port. RGB support by Vitez (formerly known as Tomi01).
Arcona outfit is based on Zahar's Cowboy skin.
    Lighting improvements done by Swegmaster.
I kitbashed all of these amazing works together, added LODs, did all outfit textures except for human variants, also did additional weight painting where had to. All sounds edited by me and had taken from either Knights of the Old Republic 1-2, The Old Republic, Star Wars Galaxies and The Force Unleashed - except Snivvian voicelines being from Jedi Outcast.
(Rebel Commandos come hand in hand with human variants since Monsoontide's original mesh is a human-only model and I saw no point in removing those when kitbashing so many things together)

  15. Jan Replacement

Wanted to try and edit Jan's base model a bit and this is how it turned out.

Gave her new eyebrows and added some details to her face texture, though some detail was lost because I had to mess around with the normals.
Added a new eye texture as well as hair from dscythegeo's Tera Hair Collection.

Install: drag and drop zzzzJanReplacementV2.pk3 into GameData/base
To play as her in game copy, paste the following command in the in game console:

  16. Otso - Buff Reelo Baruk

    Hello again

This was a one day project to see how quickly we could pump out a model done from scratch. The model was a gift, I tried to capture a signature done by a member of JoF called Otso (hence the name of the file).
The character is a sort of parody of Reelo Baruk, what he is in fact hiding under all those clothes and yes he is indeed muscular but also with a gut.
I hope you like it 🙂

This was the signature that it was based off:
It has been sculpted in zbrush, retopologized in Maya, weighted in both maya and blender and textured in substance painter.

    Here are some images:

  17. Knight

    Hello

This is my second time uploading something here, so I'll try and be as concise as I can.
If you were looking for a dark souls/elden ring inspired character then this might be for you. This character was requested of me with a reference image attached that I tried to capture with some of my own adjustments along the way. The person requesting this is called Rain, a fellow member of JoF and he also wanted a scrolling emissive texture in the cavities of the model which I tried to accommodate.

The original concept(not made by me):

  23. Jester Knight

    Hello

    I'm rather new here

I previously made these models for jka (though I haven't uploaded any of them yet):

Through these projects I've worked closely with AshuraDX and Einar whose accounts I have linked (not entirely sure if that's the right way)
Anyway they deserve a lot of credit. Both have helped me a ton with the Hierarchy, caps, various fixes and shader work.

I mainly used Zbrush to sculpt and model the lowpoly version and used the highpoly for texture baking in substance painter later on.
With this particular character I was inspired by Elden Ring and I also really wanted to make some kind of ethereal hair and I was very much inspired by the Spawn character on jkhub with the vertex deformation on the cape. I wanted a similar look for this and it worked really well in the end.
Anyway here are some progress pictures.

(I hid the images so that it should be easier to load 🙂 )

I tried my best to stay true to the concepts I've made, but I decided to take a different turn regarding the cape and few other details.
I hope you like it and if you have questions about the process then I'd gladly answer to the best of my ability

Also as a final reminder, my name here is Willemoes but my ingame name is much more err thrust worthy. I go by the name Dr.Thundercock and I'm a Member of JoF 🙂

(Edit: I uploaded some of the sketches that I made prior to making the model and I included more models I've worked on for the game.)

  24. Bounty Hunter

    UNDERWORLD MOD CONTEST 2022
    WINNER
Are you tired of every bounty hunter model being a re-color of Boba Fett? If you are, then this model was made for you!
In 2015 the game Star Wars Uprising was released for mobile devices, it was set shortly after the end of Return of the Jedi and its story was focused on a bunch of misfit rogues trying to rebel against the empire's grip on the Anoat sector (where Bespin is located). This model is based on concept art by Brian Matyas.
Back in the day I used to play Star Wars Uprising with my youngest sibling. Coincidentally, This was the outfit that my character wore.
    Bot: No.
    NPC: Yes
    LODs: Yes
    Team Skins: No.
    SP: No.

    Installation:
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Simply extract the pk3(s) to the gamedata/base folder of your Jedi Academy directory.

    Special thanks to:
AshuraDX, who pushed me to learn more about 3D modelling and texturing.
Somaz & Mat Gaunt, who gave me feedback while working on this project.
Zander_Nao, for helping me keep a high morale.
    Credits:
Most of the modelwork here is my own, with the exception of the cape, which is a heavily modified version of Hapslash's Dooku's cape which was also retextured by me, and the base of the model which was done using kyle's model as a reference (this was it also keeps a general aesthetic with the game).
    License:
As with all my work, you're free to do whatever you want with this file. If you want to incorporate it to your own projects, you're free to do so, but I'd appreciate if you let me know so that I can play your mod!
