  1. Keren Citadel

The map was made small on purpose to make sure that you always spawn "right into action" instead of having to run miles just to get back to the spot where you just lost a duel.

Next is that, I at same time, wanted good looks with high FPS so it's always nice just to "hang out". The map is Naboo themed, though, I don't want any comments saying that it SHOULD look like that and this.

I wanted it to look this way. Call it what you want.

The name, Keren Citadel, might seem very odd to the most. But "Keren" is a city on Naboo - still, don't compare to your own opinion about how that should look like.

Last is that I have included 2 secrets in the map. I'm not going to spoil anything about those.

  2. Council Building BB

Council Building BB is inspired by the old famous Jedi Council GC (and later GCX) map, made by Griffenclaw.

The map is based on an imaginary Jedi building or temple, including features such as training grounds, tournmanet areas, fighting areas, a council room, a bar, and much more.

The map is not an attempt to build anything seen from the movies, and is based on pure imagination.

The map is dedicated to the saber and duel only communities, and the map contains lots of duelling spots, both regularspots with plain surfaces, as well as rooms with obstacles.

While you are alone on the map, you can always try the integrated obstacle course consisting of 3 levels with increasing difficulty. The obstacle course is based on movement, and will probably be able to give you a challenge. If I ever make a
version two, this obstacle course will of course be expanded.

The map should have good FPS and plenty of room for duels, matches or whatever.

    Secrets
The map contains quite a bunch of secrets, and they shouldn't be too easy to find. The beta testers spend long time findingthem, and they still have one left to find. So the question is, can you find them all?

I'm not going to reveal how many, as it may depend on how you count them. Some aren't really meant to be secrets, whileothers are supposed to be easily found - almost too obvious to be a secret.

One of the obvious secrets teleports you to a completely different place (Bespin) where you at night time can do races ona simple, yet detailed track.

  3. The Academy

    Author
    Virtue

Official Map of the Jedi Academy (http://www.thejediacademy.net).

The third map in my "The Academy" series.

It's basically a heavily modified and updated version of the_academy_v2, most of the things that were in v2 are in v3, except they either look different and/or have been upgraded.

    This new version includes:
A Dueling area with three seperate rooms for dueling or sparring.
A main courtyard area for spawning and hanging out - the most central area of the map.
A "classroom" fit to cater for most, if not all of the Classes held at thejediacademy.net
An NPC sentry droid room which is good for practicing aerial attacks or riposite blocking.
A lobby area containing a few of the combo pads from the last map to help people teach/learn combos.
A "pit" room where people can duel or FFA in an area where movement is restricted and one wrong move can mean certain doom.
A large outdoor area which can be used for pretty much anything, a lush environment that can be just as deadly as it is tranquil.
An underground bunker area which is perfect for either all-out-battles (very gunner-friendly) or stealth tactics.
An administration area accessable only through the Jedi Academy's JAE mod's teleportation abilities. The area overlooks the main courtyard, has a private training room and a control room to lock/open various public areas of the map.
A "Garden of JA Fame" area paying hommage to many of the great people who have walked the halls of thejediacademy.net. The area also serves as a memorial to a dear friend of ours named Vladarion, who tragically died in a car accident over Christmas 2003.

RIP Vlad, we miss you buddy!

I would like to thank everyone in the entire JK3 community who have been waiting for this map, for your seemingly infinite patience. I'm sorry that it has taken this long for the map to be released and I hope that you won't be dissapointed. The map is built to cater specifically to the Jedi Academy, but I cannot ignore the huge amount of positive feedback I have either recieved, or heard about, so this one goes out to all of you guys.

    You all rock my socks!

Thank you for taking such an interest in the maps, big love! <3

  4. Techno Drome

Ok this map was first off requested by [X-R]Axis for a movie he was currently working on. This is a Night club/ Rave/ Techno themed place there is 4 music things for you to play at one time (Not in this version). Also this map is (currently) not made to be played on slow computers due to so many curves and mirrors. There is also an outside city area for you to look at. You can only go in the center area though. The rest are for show. There is also a park area of town where you can play. And if you wish to watch the v2 progress check www.map-craft.com

And I also bet that the people who actuially read my readmes have realised I don't like to write long ones

It is recommended that you have a newer GFX card! (Recommended to have atleast Nvidia GeForce 6600 - with just PCI no PCI express to have fps in 40s)

  5. Horizons of Taris

The Upper City of Taris at sunset, inspired by both the concepts for Taris as well as the game itself. Initially Darth Norman and I decided to compete mainly against eachother in friendly competition, as we are both MBII devs, though due to time restraints Norman had to sadly drop out . Ahh well, here is mine anyway.

In the future, there might be some bug fixes to the map itself release which will include a Night version of the map as well since I did not have time to complete that for this contest (Due to compile times). This will also be expanded much farther into what you will see in the JKG mods version of the map. Including the lower portions of the city, and many places to explore maybe beyond the city itself.

    Features
This map features a bombardment system to add another level of gameplay as well as a visual element to symbalise what happened to Taris itself. The bombardment happens every 7 minutes, lasting for about 1 minute at a time. During which your FPS might decrease a little due to EFX usage, but it should not cripple anything. If you do not want this feature activated, there are some panels in one of the interior buildings (To the left when facing the landing pad/ship) that allow you to activate and deactivate the bombardment. Keep in mind while playing though, these things do damage! City ambience and computer noise ambience when near terminals for greater immersion Flyovers by Sith Fighters Curved map boundaries to prevent getting stuck when using jetpacks or w/e when using cheats.

  14. GoldenEye Facility

The Second stage of the original N64 GoldenEye, and a famous Multiplayer map that debuted in the same game. the map itself is supposed to a bio-weapon's chemical facility that was first seen in the GoldenEye film, then in the video game with the same name, I tried my best to reproduce everything the original had, down to the spawn points, though I had to add more spawners due to lack of.

  15. GoldenEye Temple

One of the must recongizable multiplayer maps from Rare, the temple map from GoldenEye was featured in perfect dark, perfect dark zero. the map, the map has been stamped with the JkfilesExclusive in bright yellow on map loading, marking the first of the GoldenEye project to have this, the hidden Goldeneye film casset (dvd) is also hidden in the level again. the level is vastly in my opinion bland, but does stay trueto its temple theme with the sandy like bricks, and stone floors and roofs.

James Bond is back, in the Nintendo 64 remake of Caverns, based upon the classic game Goldeneye for the Nintendo 64. The caverns are in a cave region, near the Goldeneye satalite control cradle, and main control room, All doors function as they did in the classic N64 game, you have to press the "use/interact" button to open the doors, this can provide many ambush oppertunities.

  18. The Dark Forest

Well the idea making a forest was like good, sooner or later when i really start mapping i had really much and much bugs,to be honest i was more bug fixing then mapping,so that means im not that excited anymore about this map.It turned very different from what ive expected but i think the arena will fill up the fun,Its basicly a forest with a doomed house and a cave that leads to an arena, there's also a teleport that leads to a room with weapons,i couldn't find any ideas how i could stack the weapons in the main map cause it was already full of other things so i made 1 room for weapons and ammo. That's a fine discription of my map.

  19. Peninsula District Prison

For those of you who have played the original Neverwinter Nights campaign, you may recognize the basic layout of this map. It is loosely based on the Peninsula District Prison in the city of Neverwinter, as seen in the excellent game Neverwinter Nights. It's by no means exact, but it's similar enough that I felt secure in naming it after the facility. It features two levels -- the top level contains six cells plus a main area, and the lower level contains many cells and one central room. The lower level has a very low ceiling, but the main room of the upper level has a pretty high ceiling. Just watch out for the many torches -- they hurt!

  20. Multiple Coloured Screens (Green Screen Effect)

Wawel gave me the idea some time ago and since he is a movie maker he requested a "green screen" like room, so I went away and came up with a small room for him to use. As time went on more people were asking about the green screen map and I decided to go ahead and release it to the community... however another problem arose... if you're on a green screen and you're using a model that has the same shade of green then you're going to have a problem... so I decided to make a pack with 8 different colours (Black, Blue, Cyan, Green, Pink, Red, White and Yellow) so people can have more of a variety, it may be more than needed but it honestly didn't take much effort. I hope someone finds the pack useful ^^.
