  1. Anyone else get some MBII vibes from that Battlefront II Theed gameplay?

I got original BF2 vibes, which was great. :D

Well people was very angry on the crossed era stuff.. emm .. It is cool in my opinion - Imagine Lord Vader with Kylo Ren on his side fighting Jar Jar Binks and Obi Wan spamming "Hello There"

It looks good, but I have a feeling the gameplay won't hold up as well as MBII's has.

  2. It looks like a dumb version of Desann's lightsaber The saber sounds better be Joel laughing or Vinny screaming or 1/10 D:
  3. Still better than those old Grievous and Serra Keto models that look like they were ported straight from the old PS2 ROTS game. Lmao I could have sworn we had a higher quality Starkiller model in that outfit though?
  4. Easily prefer the original one over the newer one. His helmet just looks disproportional. I swear, it feels like it's talking to me, the newer helmet. It's saying "I'm in so much pain, they crushed my skull"
  5. Just figured I'd let you know, I believe that CFG files have no impact on this mod's version of OpenJK, and the Force Powers sometimes are screwed up when loaded. I believe the force problems occur in maps that don't have a pre-set force power loadout and use the standard set (mix of lvl 1 and lvl 2 force powers). This means that the campaign has no trouble when it comes to using force powers, but multiplayer maps and some custom singleplayer maps are screwed up. Here are some of the problems: When I die and reload the original save, all of my force powers will be gone except for Force Jump and saber offense, although they're still not listed as a usable force power. Quick saving usually doesn't have this problem thankfully, but I'll still start off with a really spastic force ammo counter. When using the console to add a force power or using a bind to add a force power, the force bar will appear, but it will start flashing rapidly in an abnormal manner. I'm assuming that's because the player starts out with 999 force ammo to start off with. It takes forever to reset (a minute with just lvl 3 lightning spammed and about half a minute with both lightning and saber throw). Picking up force crystals does nothing. The "give force" command almost always fixes this by resetting the force ammo down to 100 again, but for some reason that command also fills up the players inventory just like the "give all" command would. I really don't like having my inventory filled with useless items I didn't collect and being filled to the brim with keys, so I don't like using this command anymore. Was this an intentional change? Any other issues are minimal and I was able to fix them. Do these force issues have to do with your weapons file? It's not a normal cfg file and you have a different layout than the original one. Even though the some of the additional weapons you included aren't used in the game yet (like the concussion rifle), I still can't tamper or remove it without the game crashing on me.
  6. Fair enough, I do like that idea. Seeing all of the prequel characters did feel kind of strange. Keep in mind that if you're aiming for 100 percent consistency with replacing prequel characters, you'll have to overhaul various different profile descriptions in the menu for the characters. Honestly, that's probably the least important thing to be concerned with, but figured I'd mentioned it. And thank you for trying to make it more consistent with the JA darkside ending. It's my preferred ending to the game since it implied a followup story. Guess this is going to be that followup once finished.
  7. Are you sure you're using the right file/folder path for all of the textures or named your texture correctly? Some textures may or may not be used multiple times throughout the game and the most commonly used or specific instance of that texture you're looking for may be buried more obscurely in the assets than you think. Since I assume you're asking in regards to editing the Yavin IV mod, that adds several more files to search through. I don't know if the original creator relied on strictly base assets or copied and renamed some assets.
  8. Since he's called Mace throughout the story (If I remember correctly, you may want to make him Mace Windu instead. The new Luke Model is cool, but inconsistent with the story. The Naga Sadow model is a cool choice. Oh and looks like the grand master of the Jedi uses a booster seat by the look of things lol
  9. Yes, you're referring to the Iridonian, a bloodthirsty race of warriors with very little regard for honor... Just the type of person that would willingly go after Vader. > He does look a lot like him not that you mention it, although it's not like what the Iridonian was wearing was exclusive to their kind. I'm pretty sure it was just a generic divers outfit.
  10. Yes, but for me the mouse droid will always just "die" to quickly when I didn't even harm it. I have no idea what's wrong with it. There's some kind of invisible timer. I trust your model choices. Honestly, anything made today is better than some of the abominations I've seen in that mod. (Giant Yoda, Ugly Reborn/Cultist reskins and Fugly Cartoon Ventress to name a few). I thought it was funny how the Alliance soldiers were all Samus with lightsabers. XD I'm curious if you plan to change the model for the main antagonist. He's a reskin of Mar's Plo Koon model, and the reskin itself is pretty cool. I wouldn't mind if you kept it. If you are going to change it, remember that you still need to use a Kel-Dor. We don't have to many of those lying around in the downloads. :/ What I'm really hoping you can change are the saber models. Some really suck, even for back in the day the mod came out. When I first saw Kylo Ren's lightsaber, I thought that someone must have had an Idea from this mod. The lightsabers in this game are so damn impractical and weird. They can absolutely destroy enemies when thrown though, so that was useful. That benefit comes at the expense of the models looking buttass ugly though, so changing them is for the best. As far as voices go, they weren't too bad, but they were clearly recorded with poor equipment. The only really bad voice belonged to that Sith that left the Dark Side to join the Alliance. I forgot his name, but his voice-acting was just so bad it was hilarious. Rosh's voice was actually less obnoxious than the original. Huh. I liked the plot of the story, it's screams of fan fiction and it manages to get away with it. My main problem came from the game crashing so often. I'm sure OpenJK will fix that. Thank you for giving this mod another chance. It has potential to be great, it was just limited with what was available at the time.
  11. Really impressive overhaul you've done for this conversion mod. I played it back in the day. I remember enjoying it sometimes but thinking that it was too much of a clusterfuck in other moments. I really just couldn't enjoy this mod in the long run. Maybe the change of scenery and OpenJK's reassurance that the game won't crash every half-hour will change that. That, and green is a lot more pleasing to the eye than desert. By the way, there's a level that's so glitched up/poorly designed that it's nearly impossible to beat it. It's the underground level in which you control the mouse droid and have to join Rosh fighting against a group of Rodians and, for some reason, Spawn (lmao). After a short time of using the mouse droid, the game would just say that you betrayed your friends and would end. It made no sense whatsoever. This meant that you had to be as quick as possible when using the droid, which was especially hard in some of the maze-like areas even further underground. The whole level sucked, although the concept was interesting. Fixing that level is strictly a scripting thing. Good luck with your overhaul.
  12. Someone on Battlefront hacked (I think) my PS4 tag for doing nothing but beating him in the game. What a obnoxious little fuck of a manchild. He even has a history of doing this. I feel like Battlefront is my new JK2 already. New memories being made. :D

  15. I'm assuming because Jk2 rarely gets anymore love in the first place. That, and isn't JK: Enhanced much further along in development than this project? I'm not sure, as I've never used it. (I'll get around to that eventually - it looks pretty fun) Honestly, I'm still surprised this project is even a thing. I've been modding JK2 for years and collected mods from all sorts of places, from JK2files to more obscure clan websites, and never would I have expected a project on this scale ever ocurring. Sure, there have been overly-ambitious projects for JK2 in the past, like that Moddb remake that's essentially in limbo, but this is the first BIG single-player project that's made actual progress. First JK2MV and now this, it's so nice to see JK2 getting so much love in the past few years. By the time JK2 reached it's tenth anniversary, I had assumed the modding community for the game was nearly dead. Glad to see that's obviously not the case. Even from the first alpha build, I'm very impressed with the progress this mod has achieved, and I'm eagerly anticipating the 2nd build's release. There are plenty of good skins and models to use for the characters you intend to modify. Desann's got plenty of excellent skins, although I'm not sure what plans you have for him. I thought the model of him with the cape in the JK2 movie was pretty cool. Also, I'd recommend Rooxon's E-11 be ported to JK2 for this project; It's an excellent model, although I don't know if you want to make another model from scratch.
  16. New Battlefront 2 trailer is out and there's only 4 seconds of prequel content shown and plenty of what we've already seen in the first game. Looking forward to the $50 season pass for half of the game again.

It wasn't a thing, that's what I'm implying. It's ridiculous that people pay for skins and other cosmetic things in videogames and don't realize they're being ripped off.

    3. Kualan

      Kualan

Let me clarify - I don't agree with it, but I consider giving people the choice to pay extra for purely cosmetic things to be a lot different (and more tolerable) than a pay2win scenario where people are forced to use microtransactions to actually stay competitive in a game.

  17. I made something similar like this for JK2, but not JK3. Thank you for prolonging my laziness by making a JK3 version for me. Good art choices (I love McQuarrie's concept art). .
  18. Someone could totally make a Krennic model using Hapslash's imperial model. Both his Imperial and Dooku models share the same base model, so the cape shouldn't be a problem.

  19. First time I saw the new Obi Wan vs Maul fight, I thought it was garbage. 2nd time, I understood the references and symbolism behind it, and thought it was mediocre. It was a good attempt at something different, but you don't hype someone up for shit like that.

Battlefront really brought a lot of appreciation to the lesser characters like Nein Nunb and Dengar.

  22. "You fool, I've been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku!" No shit? That line from ROTS really annoys me now. The script was clearly not made with the Clone Wars show in mind. Obi Wan fought Grievous a dozen some times in it. :/

I agree with Mini that the 2003 version ties in much better with the prequels, and, as I said, I don't believe that the 2008 series is really meant to tie in with the prequel films -- it pushes things to a whole new level of storytelling that the prequel films never ascend to. Watching the best of TCW (2008) and then the prequel films IMHO is like reading Herbert's Dune, and then watching the latest Star Trek, hoping that it will add something to it.

    4. Cerez

      Cerez

The prequel films had a lot of Star Wars world ideas crammed into them -- that's what they were brilliant at. Without the work done for the prequels, there would be no base for TCW.

  23. I think I'll try to put in the money to get the I5 6500, but I'll lower the GTX 1060 6GB to a GTX 1060 3GB. The greater CPU will more than compensate to get a stable 60FPS at max settings. I3 6320 w/ GTX 1060 6GB OR I5 6500 W/GTX 1060 3GB? ???
  24. I will throw in a couple bucks to find a decent mid-sized PC tower. How does this one sound? https://www.amazon.com/ROSEWILL-Gaming-Window-Pre-Installed-Computer/dp/B01IT0TDY6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478654412&sr=8-1&keywords=pc+case+side+fan I can't say I ever heard someone suggest that a CPU cooler would be unnecessary, even with a case with good air-flow. I think it would be safe to get it anyway. I did think about getting an I5-6500 at some points, but I need to weigh the pros and cons of each dollar spent. I'd really like to go no more than $600 at most. I'm a university kid eating nothing but Pizza and peanut butter. Every dollar counts. XD Maybe forking over the money for I5-6500 would be ideal in the long-run. Are there some games that will not flat out work, PERIOD, with a dual core CPU? I've seen people play CPU heavy games with dual cores that still run perfectly fine, but I heard some people say that dual cores will eventually not be able to even load games.
  25. I took the advice you guys gave me and made a topic about upgrading my PC. Thanks, everyone!
