If anyone wants to do better shots with vehicles with the camera settings that are the same as on foot: be sure to delete the cameraoveride 1 line and corresponding lines below in the veh file and presto.
Also, if you want to experiment with the different camera angles WHILE Cameraoveride 1 is still present in the veh file, mess around with the numbers such as the camerarange option, the cameravertoffset option, the camerapitchoffset option and the FOV and alpha options. See which results you get.
