  1. You are completely right. I saw several new RP the last year and a lot died in less than one month. Two or three people met and said "hey, even there already several solid RP clans on JKA, if we create our own RP clan ? We will do nothing more than other clan, no unique feature that only our clan has. Just an other classic RP using JA+/Lugormod/[put the mod you want here], but people will join us because WE ARE A RP CLAN !!!!!" I am impressed by the number of people who don't want to join an existing solid RP clan but absolutely want to create their own because "we want to be the admins and don't want to obey to existing Jedi Master in other clans". Generally, these are clan whose the only marketing argument is "we do RP, so all RP players must join us because we are a RP clan". And the clan die one month later.... Stop creating new clan if you don't bring totally new features that other RP clans have not ! Now, look at Countdown presentation : I don't want to criticize your forum but I just want to show you the points you should improve : you start with the storyline presentation. Yeah, you chose an original background. I don't know any other clan which use the Jedi Purge story. A good point. But that's all. Your storyline takes 2 lines. You should develop your storyline. Actually, that sound like a "lazy RP". Claiming that you are a RP clan is not sufficient. You must SHOW that you are a RP clan. Second problem : the main party is the Galactic Republic... eeeh... the Jedis and futur Rebels (Bail Organa) or the Empire ? (because, remember, during the Jedi Purge, there is no more Republic. Palpatine has renamed the Republic into Empire). This is a first incoherent point. Players don't know if they will play good or bad characters. If they play jedis, they know that their character will die in a few months or years (due to the Jedi purge) but the RP can be intense (always on the move, always in danger, tracked on every planet). If they play Empire... that sounds good ! Tracking and killing Jedis... ^^ but I fear it will be just "find and kill the jedi" missions rather than a real RP. There is any rules about the RP itself : characters. class, hierarchy, ... What kind of personnage should i take ? Jedi ? Clone ? Jedi Side or Empire Side ? Do you allow all side or only your main side ? (galactic republic) There is a lack of indications about that. You should have spending more time to develop your forum and your RP before making advertising. Prepar a solid RP and a solid forum with 2 or 3 friends and then make advertising to attract people. Because actually, I don't see any advantage to join your clan rather than an other RP clan, except maybe the original storyline but you did not develop your only point. "Yes I understand this is not much, but I am adding more as time goes on." They all say the same. But actually, you can not properly welcome players, and players can not properly play on you forum. That's a fact. That's why a lot of new RP clans die In my own clan, me and 2 friends, we spent 4 months to prepar our forum and our skins/maps/npc/mod pack (due to lack of time and IRL). And we made advertising only when we were ready to welcome new people. We have not a lot of players but the system runs itself and now we can spend time playing rather than building the forum, the RP rules and the storyline (yeah, but we are not a "real" RP clan). Jedi Holo are successful because they bring their RP to a niche market : this is not Jedi RP, this is Jedi simulation. They spend hours training, meditating and discuting. Not all people like that. They have their own mod they locked : only the clientside is released. That avoids to have a "dispersion" of "Jedi holo" clans. They offer a RP that no other clan offer. JK-RP are an old RP clan. They have a lot of players but they die and rebirth every six months (due to nostalgia, i think). Actually, they are dead i think. Wait a few months and you will see again a JK-RP clan somewhere. They have their own mod too (OJRP = OJP + RP features) but that prove a personal mod is not sufficient to make RP clan. The key is to have a dedicated admin too, a good rules system and an interesting RP.

Hello, I have one question about the /tell command, that I can not test myself : http://jkhub.org/tutorials/article/176-private-chat-whisper/ If I enter a portion of name in the tell command, do this command will send the message to everybody with this portion of name or only to the fist player who mach the name. I mean : Me and my players are named like this : - 123 Alpha - 123 Beta - 123 Gamma - 456 Epsilon - 456 JarJar Binks If i write /tell 123 "ok guys, let's go to the first objectivs. The 456 team will join us later" Do 123 Alpha, 123 Beta AND 123 Gamma be able to read the message, or only 123 Alpha ? thank you

Generally, they can block the ports. - have you correctly opened your box's ports ? (generally, it's for servers, not for gamers)
  4. Hello ! What is your major kind of Roleplay ? Forum RP or Ingame RP ? I ask because I saw points and abilities on the presentation ( http://w11.zetaboards.com/Countdown_RPG/topic/10211178/1/ ) but I did not find rules about these values and how they are used.

  6. I don't know if you can scale bots (maybe in the bot files). The command is to scale yourself. I update my first post to add a "Mod" section and a "Communities" section. I agree with you. OJP had three good points that MBII has not : - an improved bot support (tab bots) : it is far better to play a CTF with 3 players and 5 bots rather than 3 players without bots. MBII need to be at least 6 or 8 players to have fun : a lot of server are empty and only 3 or 4 servers get the players. - the coop mod : here too, you can have fun with only 2 or 3 friends. - the game modes : you can play every map you want, and you can spend points as you want : force, saber, guns. gadgets. It is perfect for RP and Events. MBII is closed : you play only the dedicated siege maps and you can't do anything else. However, developers stopped to improve and fix these points MBII has not and they focused only on the saber system which was already almost perfect (except some little points but that's not the matter).
  7. The Hoth trailer is terrible ! However, I find the coop trailer is too... realistic to be the real game. I think it's an overhaul and not the real game. There was a jetpack in the hoth trailer and in the coop trailer. I fear there will be too much jetpacks in the game. Battlefront is not Advanced Warfare and the jetpack was originally the Shadow and jet troopers special stuff.

  11. A little topic to know how many players are interested in OJP (OpenJediProject) (enhanced version), play together and get informations about different versions of OJP. I played some games with friends last week but our server is a home-server that is opened only a few hours per day (around 20h to 00h Greenwich). OJP is a mod that bring several interesting features : - a different saber system (a little like MBII) with 7 saber styles - Possibility to spend XP points between Force, Saber, Guns and Gadgets. You can gain more XP points by killing players and npc. They are not saved between each time you play. - A coop mode to play SP mission with friends. There are bugs but it is the only mod I kno (with ZykMod) which allow to play the real SP maps with objectives (and not only in FFA or TFFA like other mods). Due to the "OpenSource" of OJP, there exist several versions of OJP. I don't know all of them but I will try to class them by dlls. OJP versions : OJP 1.2 The original OJP. There is a few bugs but I think it is the more stable and the more balanced. There exists different assets versions but the dll are the same and are entirely compatible. However, the mod is less stable than OJP 1.2 and can crash sometimes depending on your OS. It seems that OJRP works perfect on Seven and higher windows versions. Some gameplay modifications are criticized by some people (gunners can no more dodge for example) but OJRP was dedicated for RP and not for Gameplay. Here is their old forum but the link is broken. I will not put here the link of the mod because I don't know if they want their mod to be public released. The mod was public on their first forum but then became private on their other forums. One comment : they have bugs. OJP 1.3 Beta/OJPA (last bluid r159) has a broken soldier side : some weapons don't work. OJP 1.2 beta (last build r1150) works but with weapons : the screen shake even with a empty mishap. These versions are really dedicated to the saber system. It seems to be the most balanced and best gameplay for the saber side but have bugs if you want to play gunners. They had several forums and I did not succeed find the new one. Their storyline change with each forum : on a forum, it was a Jedi-Sith-Mercenary RP. On their last forum, it was Jedi RP only. Can not give a lot of information about them because they are not stable. However, it seems they are the only English RP clan which uses OJP. Battle for the Republic A clan (Fr but English are welcome) which use BftR. It uses OJP 1.2 dll with a total npc conversion. The mod is really focused on the Coop mode and players are in the Republic side during the Clone War. They play some fun events (CTF, TFFA,..) and some RP events too but the RP side is based on completing mission from the coop mode and doesn't use a "progression system" as in other RP clans. You can be directly a Jedi Master if you want. - Clone/droids npcs, skins and weapons total conversion - add and improve new coop maps - use a class system http://french-jedi-academy.forumactif.org/ The Living Force RP A RP clan (Fr) which uses OJRP with some modified animations and effects from Evolution of Combat. You start as an apprentice and you can choose between Jedi, Sith, Soldier or Droid classes. There are two factions : Jedis'Republic and Siths'Empire. You gain level on the forum by playing RP or being DM during a RP. Your forum level says how much points you can spend for your skills.   12. You should start only with a forum section dedicated for JKLeague on JKHUB. No more. If JKleague rises, then merge JKHUB and JKLeague. If JKLeague falls, it will avoid a lot of works for JKHUB staff. They have just to delete the subforum. I just want to avoid you to start a lot of work to merge JKHUB and JKLeague without be sure of the result.

  21. thank you yeah, i tested. OJP anniversary (from beta 1.3) has too many bugs : soldier side is completely broken Onysfx gave me a stable version of JKE, even there is some minor bugs but it works nice. Is it already developped or stopped ?
