  1. A new foolish contest A new contest has arrived! This one we haven't done before, so I'm hoping it is a success. April Fool's Day is a Western holiday, focused on bamboozles, tricks, and downright ridiculous tomfoolery. What does that mean for the contest? Technically, anything goes. In 2019 terms, this is where the meme mods will shine. Some examples would be a fun house map full of tricks and illusions, a model of something ridiculous like a panda wearing a bunny suit that wields a banana gun, or something simple like replacing every texture in the game with a pizza texture. Get crazy and creative. Keep it fairly clean, but if you're worried about your idea, PM a staff member before spending time on it. The Fool's Gold Standard™ For this contest, the voting process will be a bit different. Since we're starting it later than we should have, we won't have time to open the voting to the public. Typically we like to give a week for everyone to login and vote, since most people don't visit the site daily. Instead, the JKHub staff members will be the judges. All submissions will be reviewed by us and we will vote for which ones we think should win. I'm dubbing this The Fool's Gold Standard™ - as cheesy as it sounds. All mods and results will be posted in an article on April 1st. Rules: All submissions must be foolish in some way. This is hugely subjective and pretty lenient. If someone submits their super high poly model of a Star Wars character, that probably won't make it - could be amazing, but doesn't really fit.You can only enter your own creations. You may enter more than one file.Already existing files cannot be submitted. The goal is to encourage new creations!Any form of mod content is welcome, including skins, models, maps, weapons, menu mods, etc. Just make sure it abides by the file submission rules.Files can be for Jedi Academy and/or Jedi Outcast. We will assume files are for JKA unless specified otherwise.Keep it tasteful and not over-the-top dirty or inappropriate. Staff decides as a group if things are in question. The deadline for submitting content is March 31, 2019.How do I submit my mod? Our goal is to make it as simple as possible for everyone involved. The way you submit your file for this contest is to upload them as normal files in our file section, but using the category called Contest Entries. Click the button below, and submit your mod as you normally would. The category should be set to April Fool's 2019 already. If you don't enter it there, your file won't be entered until you do. 3. Oh, I see now. I was looking at the JKA Kyle hilt for some reason.
  4. Had a look in Blender, everything looks perfect. Not sure why it's doing that then.
  5. Approved, but moved to this page. For future versions, please edit your existing file page, unless you absolutely want both versions available for download.
  6. No, because the md3 files are for uses other than the player weapon, I believe. I could check the model later tonight to test my theory, but if you open it in Blender and look for the blade tag, it's either not there, or JK2 doesn't use the blade tag and the model just needs to be moved to the 0,0,0 coordinates so 0 is where the blade should start.
  7. Pretty sure they work the same, but it looks like that model may be missing the blade tag, so the blade is defaulting to the 0 coordinate instead.
  8. I discovered/remembered the issue. It's an easy fix but if you ever want to use a custom animation mod, it will have to be fixed in that mod as well. Here's a pk3 to fix the issue: https://circa.im/files/jka/walk_fix.zip Open the zip, copy the pk3, paste it in your base folder.
  9. They are saved to the OpenJK folder, in My Games. Go to your Documents folder, then My Games, then OpenJK.
  10. It's an issue with vanilla SP. I don't think there's a way to fix it. I remember my game always had that issue.
  11. You could fork the project and if the OpenJK gents like what they see, I'm sure they'd be willing to merge your stuff into the main project. Maybe.
  12. You said seeing the Jedi training was boring, and I was disagreeing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's boring now, sure. Compared to modern games it's super boring.
  13. Seeing NPCs do more than just one animation was kind of huge back in 2002, to be fair. It was very immersive back then to see those Jedi training like that.
  14. The trials was by far one of the best parts of JK2 for me as well. I've always been a fan of Jedi training related stuff, so playing through that was awesome.
  15. I assume you learned how to achieve what you wanted?
  16. JK2 My favorite is by far Cairn Dock, like mini said, because it's a stealth mission. It was kind of interesting how the devs were able to pull that mission off in that engine, seeing how the AI works normally. My least favorite is one of the last Yavin missions when you're in the AT-ST. The design of the map really didn't age well. JKA I love the vjun missions and the hoth missions. Pretty much all the missions in between the tier missions, because you felt like the story was actually progressing, rather than just doing random things partially related to the Cult. Wasn't a fan of t2_trip either. If the entire mission wasn't the same, then it would be cool but going as fast as you can on the swoop bike just got boring after awhile.
  17. Or just have the droid a bit darker. Right now he's unnaturally bright. Hopefully these critiques aren't scaring you away. It is a really cool image!
  18. The issue is just that it's so dark you can't tell it's there. I just recommend lightening it up slightly so you can see some detail.
  19. You merged with the existing gla that had those poses, right? The base humanoid skeleton does not have the ledge animations, I think only JA+ does. So if you merged with the base skeleton, the JA+ ones won't be there. You have to merge with that one, which means your animations should end up at the very end of the animation count.
  20. Laziness, really. They probably don't think about the nails and knuckle wrinkles being seen. But it's not hard to just use Kyle's gloved hands or Luke's instead of Jaden's gloveless ones. But yes, in the above image, he's wearing black gloves, but it took me a sec to realize that. If I didn't see the other hand tucked into his armpit, I probably would have assumed he was missing his hands. Maybe it's just my monitor I'm using atm.

Works fine for me. Try downloading it again. Maybe it was corrupted on download.
  22. Is that his hand under the saber hilt? It looks completely black, like he has no hand. Maybe try lightening it up a bit so it shows details in the hand a bit. That's the downside to using Modview screenshots: no lighting.

I actually had planned to upload it a few months ago, and even tried contacting the author but got no response. Then I forgot about it. Luckily the readme says it is okay to redistribute.

It has an entirely different layout and a couple different rooms, yes. This one has the hangar, and I don't think the new one does. Can't remember exactly, but I used this map for a clan project and noticed the differences in both versions. The new one has some more polish in certain areas too, and brighter lighting I think. This one is very dark.

To be clear, this is the original map from 2007 that was made for MBII, but released separately. The MBII team later redesigned a lot of it to work better with their game modes. The current MBII version is vastly different than this one. However, this one is still amazing, and definitely one of my favorite maps of a movie location. I just wish it was bigger.
