  1. Ambient light is essentially telling the engine to paint the textures a lighter, brighter color. I assume it is generated on the model's textures only, not drawing from anything else.
  2. Just running base or a particular mod? Singleplayer or multiplayer? Any errors in console when you press Use on the spawner button?
  3. Make sure no other leftover JA processes are running in the background using task manager. vm_create failed errors usually mean multiple instances of the game are trying to run at once.
  4. That's really interesting. I've never heard of a map affecting the game outside of the map unless it's not even allowing OpenGL to start haha. @@Pande - tagged to see if he can help. Have you tried passing the compiled map off to a friend to see if they have the same issue when playing it?
  5. Are you using GTK to compile or an external GUI? Is this rend2? What happens if you don't specify a lightmap scale?
  6. no entiendo. tienes una foto de la problema?
  7. The unique freedom of movement that JO/JA offers I think helps add to the unique suitability to roleplay. Don't ask me how... It just.. does... Though it seems to be on the rise, you will find most of the remaining roleplay population centralized to a few select communities. Unfortunately, this can lead to leaders of said communities to take advantage of their member-base and flex out-of-character authority and force out-of-roleplay agendas on them all the while knowing they have no where else to go and thus have to just lay there and take the beating. The alternative to getting beat on is to bootlick in order to achieve any progress in those communities. EDIT: The people that liked this post know exactly what I'm talking about.
  8. That vid from comic con, showing all the practical effects and sets, fills me with such hope as to the quality of this film as compared to the prequal's effects and images. :')
  9. esta bien o necessitas mas ayudo?
  10. Looks to me like they are transparent, or "translucent" at least. http://www.cinemablend.com/images/facebook/news/68976/68976.jpg
  11. Not to... necropost or anything.... but without the letter P how will you ever be like. "NO, DON'T KILL ME, pwease."

    Police Jan

I like the shirt but I'm not sure what Space Police Department would allow wearing undies as an acceptable part of the uniform.
  13. Yeap, you have to run it in compatibility mode and disable desktop composition or something similar to that (I forget). You also have to go into GTK's options and uncheck win32 dialogs I believe. Going from memory at the moment. When saving a map, you can use Save As. You just need to actually type .map at the end of the filename or else it will save as an empty flat file and you'll lose all your work.
  14. I find it unlikely that the books will be so-called "required reading" to understand the films. No one makes a film for a general audience that they won't be able to understand based on common knowledge and images/information presented.
  15. Yeah, it's just banter and Kyle trying to make light of the situation because he does say that he senses the disturbance in the Force as well. The disturbance, in this instance, was the unusual absence of dark side energy from the Massassi temple where Jaden spies on Tavion (as is later revealed by Kyle). Luke telling Kyle to "be careful" isn't an expression of love, simply of compassion. He's a Jedi Master after all and Kyle is his friend so why would he want any harm to befall him? Disturbances in the Force rarely are accompanied by joyous occurrences.
  16. I liked it. Very nice design and feels like you're onto something as far as gameplay goes. Always felt that the training sequences in both Jedi Outcast and Academy were too abbreviated. Very creative use of dialogue sound files that could already be found in the game. I'll admit to suffering a few stutters at the beginning of the game. After Kyle said "Let's get started." I kind of just stood there staring at them for a moment expecting them to do something or otherwise direct me to the door I was supposed to go to. After waiting long enough to determine that wasn't going to happen I fumbled with the rooms until I got into the first puzzle. Call me dumb but the first puzzle had me stumped for a bit. I got the whole force sense deal immediately but I had to guess at which symbol was supposed to be used or force pushed since the correct one didn't match the symbol by the door. Though this may have been intentional. All in all I really enjoyed the little obstacle course and the secret area. Well done on the concept and the design!
  17. And you did this all while spamming a sound clip of "THE JEDI AH TAKING OVAH!"
  18. First, highlight your conveyor belt with the trigger brush. (You'll want it to be a thin layer just above the conveyor so it only pushes the player when they're standing on it rather than jumping over it. Set that trigger brush to a trigger_push. Target it at an info_notnull wherever the conveyor belt is travelling. You'll want to check the linear box, the multiple box, and likely the relative box. You'll have to do a little trial and error with the key and value for speed until it appears the player is being pushed at the same rate the conveyor texture is moving.
  19. Now make the tcmod scroll super slow so it actually takes a day to cycle
  20. You can download the patch that MagSul made here: http://rpmod.jediholo.net/gameasset/view/name/yavin-patch
  21. Or set up a trigger on a patch mesh that's facing only one way.
