  1. So according to latest news, Yoda's puppet is back on stage – this time for Episode VIII. It's not very surprising, if you ask me. We could hear the voices of Obi Wan and the old master in TFA. So there might be much more this time. I am positive they are guiding Luke Skywalker. But why would they add him? They made Maz Kanata to replace Yoda, an obvious move to be consistent with Star Wars lore. Seeing the two in one story would be interesting still. But my opinion is that Maz didn't setlle all the things the right thing for the plot – it won't replace the most beloved Jedi master.
  2. There is an interview regarding Governor Pryce. Watch it HERE.
  3. Pateesa – remember this name, which belongs to Jabba's Rancor. Thanks, New Canon, we've asked for this :D

  4. Just read excerpts from the interview with Timothy Zahn, about his thoughts on the return of Thrawn to Star Wars as canon and as part of Rebels series. While he is indeed glad, that the beloved Admiral is now part of greater story and the author is again involved in creating new stories about him, there are a lot of things still unsettled. Zahn says himself, that "it is a problem", in terms, that the fans know quite a lot about Thrawn now, but all this information is disregarded. I think, he somehow regrets, that he made so much for Thrawn previously, and most of these things are sent into trash can (even though they re-release the old novels too).
  5. @@KyleKatarn1995 Well, it's just a coincidence. =) We made this (minor) character long before Arihnda Pryce made it into Rebels. But I must say, I always wondered, where she is, because Lothal was controlled by the Minister Maketh Tua. Curiously, the duo was in charge of the planet, but so different visually and in personality.
  6. @@KyleKatarn1995 We have a model of a female Impedial Officer, which is customizable, and she has several kinds of hair style, on of them looks exactly like the one seen with Arihnda Pryce. Like the one here (the hat is removable, and can be (de)activated with each hair style): The model will be available together with Chapter I.
  7. A walker on the cliff isn't an unusual thing for those, who play Dark Forces II AT-ST and even AT-AT were in various very strange places on Ruusan. As for the episode, it's peculiar, that so many things have been put into one episode at once. Almost everything from the trailer made it into it. On the whole, the episode was good, but not as remarkable, as I imagined, and the reason is probably, because for TCW they managed to create diversity in plot, details, designs, etc, which is lacking from Rebels. But it's explainable: we deal with the Galactic Empire era, so it's a logical limit. A few things were cool.
  8. Armitage Hux? Really? What kind of name is that?

These names aren't very common. At least I met some of these names only on a few occasions. Kyle Katarn isn't purely Star Wars name either (Kyle is in Terminator for instance). It's just that some names sound better and closer to fantasy story, than others. Armitage doesn't sound that good like Wilhuf Tarkin. However Episode IV had a few characters very much with Earth-like names too, including the Imperials in the Death Star round room.

Kyle and Luke are EXTREMELY common English names. They might not be common in your country but I have met at LEAST over 30 Lukes and definitely over 50 Kyles in my lifetime so far. :P Leia is not as common, but I've met one and I have heard of 1 (havent met).

I know that. Luc Besson is a famous person, and his is also Luke in some ways :) I were saying, that some names sound better and closer to fantasy stories, than others. Luke is probably one of those, because John, Jack and Jake aren't the names that I hear here and there all the time, but I know, that they are widespread both in real life and literature. And for this reason and perhaps several more, they sound more Earth-like. Luke isn't very original, but it worked to become iconic i...

  9. @@TheTellerMan If there are mods, involving NPC files (inside a new pk3, ext_data/ ), then the new mods might have overriden the original NPC files, thus removing the Remote droids. Sometimes with many mods installed your game reaches limits, including the NPC limit, and as a result some of the NPCs get removed without notification. Deleting the mods is the perhaps the right choice to solve the issue.
  10. I also expected much from Desplat, and there are several really good tracks, which I keep nearby. However Michael Giacchino is also big news, though I thought he was a friend of J.J.Abrams. I know him mostly for the Lost soundtrack, which was an amazing one. However, I feel it's strange this news appears now, when the film is so close to be released.
  11. @@Mandalorian I saw that via an article, which retwitted the news. It was Katee Sackhoff, who said, she is voicing this very same character for Rebels.
  12. I hope this will be the long-awaited end for Darth Maul at last. He should have died long ago, even though he is an interesting character. But I like the idea of Witch magic, present above him, which indicates, that he "lives" solely through this sorcery from Dathomir. Some people claim Boba Fett is also in this season, and Bo Takan has already been confirmed to return, probably giving some explanation on what actually happened to Mandalore after Satine's death (though we already know, that the Empire occupied the world and created the Imperial Academy there).
  13. Can you believe this map was released 14 years ago (as of Sept.2016)? The author himself must have changed a lot – if he were a student, he is now an adult, who won't remember perhaps that he ever created a map for JK, unless he is still an active JK user.

I guess, it's possible to finish the compilation of this map with -light stage, otherwise it's too bright.
  15. No one truly **** in Star Wars. I can mention a lot of characters, who came into immortality so to speak via very different methods be it a sort of mysterious technique or their deeds. Even if it happened this way, as the spoiler suggests, I am actually okey with that: 1) it would make a difference in the new trilogy, 2) by this time in the old canon so much happened to Luke, that perhaps he could die some time around this date (34 ABY) too. All go to rest one day. P.S. Too bad even ABY abd BBY are no longer canon.
  16. Confirmed. I wish it were otherwise.
  17. In certain cases mappers used simple brushes, placed behind the mesh – this was of course used on the constructions, which are only seen by the Players from a distance, and not necessarily can be reached. This is also used by some, when they make a canyon, and unnecessary holes pop up between mountains and rocks.
  18. Actually, it seems, the problem was about shaders... Only the objects with additional effects, applied by shaders, are affected by this problem. rgbGen lightingDiffuse resolves it though.
  19. Not sure, how that works for CTF, but in SP you can change objectives through strings and in a script, which brings the command, you can set that objective to appear. I can assume, that in MP you will have to do a similar thing, however it is possible, that such an objective would change everywhere for all CTF maps, used in your JA.
  20. I guess, with so many characters coming to JA, we can now recreate the scenes from very different Star Wars stories, be it the old Clone Wars or something else. =) I would also like to see the neutral NPC of Whiphid (Kkruhk's species), which could be used as a bounty hunter or a trader.
  21. @@Xycaleth Well, I wasn't able to make a video, but I made several shots of one original object of JO/JA – imp_mine/control_panel.md3 The screens below show a md3 placed as misc_model_static, observed by the Player from several angels, as you move around. You can see, that the surface changes color (dark-blue to red, and vice versa). The object is not black (!), it's just the screens show the blue color differently on different monitors (I tried on two different machines), and red one is on the surface, because there is a red light entity in the same room just a bit aside from md3. This similar visual glitch takes place on other objects, specifically I tried it on plants (both from JA and new ones, made by myself).
  22. Music in Star Wars is one of the main things, which I always admire in the franchise and which I always look for, when a new story comes out, whether it's a new film or a video game (or else). I started playing SWTOR years ago, from its first day of release. By that time, it had lots of music, taken from the OT, the prequels and both KOTORs. With the expansion it became clear, that they would need much more to keep players in the game – both new voices/lines and music were made specifically for the new chapters. So, yes, I agree here – it's an amazing job of making so much for the continuing story of the SWTOR game. I must say, that I like KOTOR music much more – while new in style, it bears familiar patterns in several tracks, such as the Sith theme and the Force/Jedi theme. Original SWTOR tracks also boast these qualities to certain extent. For instance, when you arrive on Tatooine you can hear both the music from a New Hope, as well as certain remixes, which indicate: you're indeed on a desert world, farthest from the centre of the Galaxy. I am bit more interested in the fact, that SWTOR also utilizes several unreleased tracks from KOTOR I. These can be heard in cutscenes of the game, but they never were released as an OST. In SWTOR you can hear them perfectly in various scenes. Including the one with expansion about Emperor Valkorion – in a forest scene, where the Player encounters Satele Shan in exile or so. Like here in the very end: UPDATE – Just found this video from the Expansion to SWTOR, and they seem to be using the Republic Commando original tracks as well.
  23. I see a Sith assassin from the Jedi Civil War era in shot 1 and Sariss in later screens, though I suppose, these are very different characters. The most interesting thing in behind the scenes about the comics is actually the materials, used to create the environment, the props and other necessary stuff. Including the background characters. I actually do like the look of the map, which has an Endor/Corellia looks, but the name of the map is unfamiliar in general. I would like to see the comics and more on the development of the story and backstory too.
  24. I guess, I'll bring this thread back to the light. But seriously I have a question regarding misc_model_static. The issue is that I had to find a balance between using misc_model and misc_model_static in the map, where lots of objects are used at once. The thing is that some of the models turned black in specific cases, as described above in this thread. Changing the path to texture solved the problem, and everything seems just fine, except for the light and shadows now playing crazy games on the surfaces of such an object. When you move, you can see them switching sides, becoming more/less visible with each step. I tried using _rs and _cs, but that didn't change anything. Looked through web in search of commands to apply on the surfaces, but found nothing useful... Perhaps I missed some. Or perhaps I should do something with shaders, because the model I used for misc_mode_static is actually a plant. Anyone knows this issue?
