I've already mentioned, that we are working on the last map for Chapter I. It's the most difficult thing of all, because of its specifics, details, environment and gameplay. It's not like JO, but has similarities with JA. Only through the gameplay. I can't reveal the specifics, because the point was that the players must complete the first tasks to see the final level in the Chapter. If we don't post news, that doesn't mean we stopped working. It's simply not worth spending time on making news, for which we also determine what should be revealed now, and what must be kept secret. In any case DP is a mod, not a full-scale game, thus some things are already known, even if they are new in design, looks, scripts, etc. The tasks are divided between several people. Chapter I mostly lies on the shoulders of other people. I am working on further chapters, as they are also important. Dantooine and Sulon levels are complete, while in several other planets only one map remains to be finished. Thankfully, they aren't graphically demanding like the map, which causes lots of issues in Chapter I. But we managed to overcome most of them by now. My position for now: no more news. When Chapter I is ready, there will be ones. If there no news, see the first sentence in this post.

@@dark_apprentice I heard some bits of it too. It is obvious, that if they copied ANH in the form of TFA, just making a girl the main hero, as the latest trends dictate, so what prevents them from making a nod towards TESB, but with a negative meaning? At least some designs don't look like the Empire in the new film. If Lando reappears in this film, it will be even closer to Episode V. No matter what they say, I am positive, Rey is Luke's daughter. The separation between the two might have occurred on different terms, like she was hidden from Luke in oder to keep safe both Rey and her father, as together they attract too much attention by the dark forces like Snoke. -

@@Ramikad Oh, I didn't know that. Most sources seem to forget this fact and keep the old news posted. In any case, even without his re-statement about Reys' parents, we can always remember what Obi Wan told Luke in Episode IV about HIS father. And his phrase in Episode VI – "So, what I told you was true – from a certain point of view". -

TFA - Deleted Scenes [SPOILERS]
NumberWan replied to dark_apprentice's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
@@DarthDementous It won't be easy, as I still like the movie. The first third of the film was very good, as I mentioned somewhere – but I don't like the idea of Lorr San Tekka having on screen time of only several minutes and then killed. Of all characters he seemed far more Star Wars than Maz Kanata and all others. Even General Hux doesn't work for me. He just doesn't feel like an Imperial. Perhaps it was on purpose. Aside from that the film seemingly had a lot of major figures in the plot, but their role is irrelevant. The best example, as I also stated ear lie, is Captain Phasma – there was so much discussion, admiration and theories about her, that we were preparing for a bigger jump. But in the film she actually does nothing. Even her remarkable pride in remembering all the troopers numbers under her command don't help develop the character. Phasma is often compared to Boba Fett, but hey – that guy had a shot and true action both in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The prequels also introduced many new characters, but it was fun to read about them in encyclopedia and meet them again in TV series for instance. I do expect Han Solo to have changed after 30 years and after having a son with Leia and then losing him, but for some reasons I don't believe this Han Solo to be the one I know. Something is truly odd about him in TFA, and I couldn't get rid of the feeling, that hey, Han Solo knows a lot people (his fans) are watching the Saga, so he must say some cool things, but still has to be the one to tell the story about Luke and all and all. By the end of the movie you have a stronger feeling than with any other Episode of the Saga, that the time is short and they need to put everything into the remaining slot no matter how good that would look in the end. The way Rey escapes from Kylo might have been good, and we see as she climbs the wall of the base. But instead of a more complex reunion of her with Finn and Han, we see, that they notice her absolutely accidentally. This does happen in the movies, but here it is a very bad move. I could't help but notice, that for the Interior of the Starkiller base they made only several corridors and shot these from different angles (yes, I do understand, that even the Empire didn't bother about repetitive designs), but Phasma walks the same corridor, where Kylo on the higher ramp of it gives commands to capture Rey and feels Han Solo. Later we see Rey again in the same corridor, looking as a squad of troopers walk nearby. In another scene, the same corridor seems to serve as the floor, where Han and Chewie, and Finn enter the elevator. The film had many concepts in architectural sense, that were far better than what we see on Jakku. It's a very strange outpost with no houses around. Yes, they can all live in AT-ATs left behind, but I don't buy it. The Rathtars and Kahji Club are the worst concepts of a monster and of a criminal gang in the whole Star Wars franchise! Even the Serocco from KOTOR 2 was a much greater concept for an enemy, but here??? Rathtars, as I also mentioned, is a mix of Prometheus "Octopus" and Men in Black New York monster. Come on, guys, let's be original! Neither OT, not the prequels have ever failed at this. All this is probably just a critics on my part, but the worst thing is that the film tries to play on our side by placing lots of nostalgic feelings in it. Don't get me wrong: I find Rey adorable, she surprisingly looks a lot like a Star Wars character. And the motives of her loneliness play along with other motives of Star Wars. When I watch SW I always think: this character is so alone here, so remote from all others we know, and she doesn't have the slightest idea, that there was an Invasion of Naboo, the Grand opening of the Boonta Eve Podracing, with Clone Wars and Order 66 killing all the Jedi. Does she know, that she is not even on the "farthest star system from the centre of the Universe"? Does she know, that the Emperor submerged the whole Galaxy into Darkness the way no one else could have imagined? I get this feeling also, when we see Luke attacked by Tusken Raiders in ANH. To tell the truth, that's what I expected from the deleted scenes. I hoped, that maybe the good stuff was dropped out because of these cuts, like Phasma in action, Zuvio introduction, Maz Kanata - Leia talk. As for the alternative story of TFA, which @ also asked about, I've almost completed it and plan to post it as a separate thread. Though I am indecisive on who to name it, in order it not to sour too confusing with all these discussions of The Force Awakens in several places now. Ideas? -
@@Circa I would like it to be the Malachor we know from KOTOR 2, but there are hints, that they use only the concept of the p;ante, not the general story about it. Jedi Civil War could have been cool, but they mention a different event, which happened much later (about 1000 years before the films), and since Jedi Civil War is no longer canon, this conflict is different and took place between Jedi and the Sith, both of which perished. So no Mandalorians were involved in this. My guess was that perhaps this is a conflict, that can tie us with the Supreme Leader Snoke from TFA. We know, he is 1000 years old, so he could have witnessed this war. The hilt like Kylo's is simply a nod towards TFA, although explained, that this was just one of the older designs, used by the Jedi, and somehow (and for some reasons) copied by Kylo Ren centuries later. Darth Maul is overused in my opinion. I would expect Savage Oppress to be there, but he is dead.

Great model here, but personally I never liked this shuttle in the film. The Classic Lambda-Class Shuttle still rocks more.

You already know my point of view on that So I won't be posting anything about Rebels. There are moments and designs I like, but the visual part isn't the best, at least that's not what I like there. Unlike TCW, where "behind the scenes" say, that for the final (and your favorite) scene of Season 5 D.Filoni used the photo of the sky sunset he took during the production, and the music was composed by Kevin Kiner, when he travelled to Prague, specifically for this scene, if I am not mistaken, the Rebels series show, that their strongest side is probably, that they make a stronger nod towards classics. Specifically R.McQuarrie isn't forgotten there, as his designs for Alderaan serve as basis for Lothal. I could list a lot of things here, but that would be from the point of a designer, artist and perhaps a mapper for JA. =) All these however don't count as something truly cinematic, close to a real-action movie.

How is it possible, that only the "KOTOR not canon" flitches on the forum and prevents from responding? A bug in the only thread.

No doubt. Funny thing is that if I don't open it, the forum works normally. If opened, the return to the main page might glitch a lot.

It could be an issue, but I tried opening this page from several different computers and from different browsers. It's the same...

@Zeros Darok Well I actually like her story and the way she turned into a more talkative character. Despite what people say, a lot of things from the EU, including the KOTOR era fit into the general Star Wars chronology. Besides, the historical data might be saved in the archives of the Galaxy, but not in the best shape by the time of the Clone Wars, so some events are missing in later data, but historical figures such as Revan might be remembered centuries later. Though I made a poster solely to show some friends and others the deepness and the variety of people, aliens and droids, heroes and villains in Star Wars franchise.

With this trailer, it's clear, that the secrecy around Rogue One is somehow more harsh than with Episode VII. I've been monitoring the news, and usually it's something about the Saga films, with only 2-3 news about the Anthology. No photos, Nothing specific. And with the appearance of Mon Mothma, I wonder, whether the Emperor will also be in the film. They might not invite some actors to reprise the role for 100%, but the Emperor in live action without Ian McDiarmid is not the Emperor for me. Having looked through his filmography, I can see, that he voiced the character for a minor SW animated show in 2015 – Star Wars: The Idiotic Clone Trooper. Nothing else. We can see, he isn't involved in any other projects, but in case or Mr. McDiarmid it's difficult to guess, as he is far more involved in theatre, not filming or television. O'Reilly had been participating only in one TV series, as it seemed before Rogue One trailer was released. So if he is in the movie, it would be superb.

If you are unfamiliar with this species, then you can learn about them from The Clone Wars TV series. Riff Tamson was a Karkaradon commander of the Separatist armies on Mon Calamari world, eager to kill the local king. Another Karkaradon was kept prisoner in the detention centre on Coruscant, where he had not the most pleasant encounter with Obi Wan Kenobi. Not sure about others. =) But this model will definitely serve perfectly to make a thug, an enemy trooper or a bounty hunter, given that the species are considered to be quite aggressive and ill-tempered. I like how the Desann original armor fits into this creature.

There is an alternative link to the poster now, you can find it here too. The major characters follow more or less some sort of logic, while the background ones are here and there, sometimes from very different legends, like SW Droids and The Force Unleashed almost nearby. For me this is an important contrast, which is always present in Star Wars. Star Wars Holiday is also there, though it's banned by the fans for the most part.

@Cerez Yes, that Pantoran senator is one of the most interesting characters. We have many senators, but each is shown in a different way, even if each season shows their growth. I also thought if redrawing all the characters, but it would take time. I also thought, it was a mistake to make a file in InDesign (but I am solo used to working with its tools), as the file is very large. I used Photoshop too, and I want to add vector frames to each photo, which would include I-VII, as well EU, CW, other titles perhaps as short signatures. I am also not sure about placing Clone Troopers in a different line than Old Republic Troopers and Ancient Sith Troopers. Perhaps they should be in the upper part. @eezstreet Just name the other source, I can re-upload it there. I've been using photo bucket for years, and usually placed smaller pictures, but this is the first time I've uploaded such a big one.

Thought of putting all the chars in SW in one pic. https://jkhub.org/topic/7494-star-wars-–-all-characters/ I am positive nothing is truly cancelled.

All Character of Star Wars (Poster, WIP) I don't think I ever thought of the name for this one, but it's probably one of the craziest things I've ever tried in Star Wars. For myself it's not new at all, it's actually a depiction of what I believe in Star Wars: whatever happened – happened, and there is always a bit of truth in Legends. I've been thinking of making something to decorate a wall and what would also serve as an explanation for many people, who ask me things about Star Wars. Why I like it, what I like in it, and what Star Wars partly represent. So I began working on this poster, which can be described as all (most) characters from Star Wars to have ever appeared in the Galaxy. You might also call it as a reconciliation between the old and new Canon. The poster isn't complete and I'd been making it for several months before Episode VII was released, so some things aren't mentioned here (the same applies to Rogue One). The whole picture also misses many other elements, like background, affiliations, general design, some connections and developments (note Luke Skywalker is shown 4 times), with many spots missing any characters at all. Many photos haven't been reworked yet to fit the format in one united form and style. All major characters from the Saga are in the centre, and the most connected to them are either close to them, or stay in the same line/row. Most characters who appear BEFORE Battle of Yavin like Revan, Amidala, Lord Scourge, etc are to the left. Characters like Dash Rendar, Kyle Katarn, Galen Marek, etc are to the right and near the center, as they are shown either after Battle of Yavin or concurrent with the Original Trilogy. Rebels and TFU are closer to Episode IV, so I added them to the right middle. The rule might or might not be observed at most times. The picture is below, but you can use the link to see a much larger and mostly the actual size of the poster here: Poster (Large) Alternative link also availbale here

Rebels take place 4-5 years before battle of Yavin (Season 1) and 2-3 years before Yavin (Season 3). Rogue One is about 6-12 months before Episode IV. Nothing can prove that right now, but we can think logically: A New Hope reveals from the start, that the Rebellion finally achieved its first major victory, and they now have the plans because of that. If this is true, then the results of the victory must have been recent. Why would they need to mention that battle and keep the plans for several years? It was revealed by Filoni, I think, that Season 3 would connect to Rogue One and Episode IV and then end.

Star Wars Episode VIII Discussion
NumberWan replied to NumberWan's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
It is obvious, that they need more connections with the Original trilogy and the entire Saga. They tried and tried a lot, not without a result. But still most "bridges" were destroyed logically due to a plot: Vader dies, the Emperor dies, Yoda dies, all major Imperials (like Tarkin, Piett, Jerjerrod) are dead, there are no Jedi (Mace Windu, Luminara Unduli, Shaak Ti, Ki Adi Mundi, etc). Minor villains (Grievous, Nute Gunray), minor heroes (Biggs) and minor background characters (Mon Mothma) are dead too. So they have to think of something. \ The tiny details in Episode VII worked as a hint, but something must be still present in Episode VIII. So I am not actually surprised we will see, what we will see. Fans divided into groups regarding what works fine in TFA and what doesn't. -
I am almost positive, that's not Kyle Katarn. It would be curious to see him though... It could still work out. I mean, if that is Kyle Katarn, we are open to speculation, that he already has had a mission to Danuta to steal the plans. The game (which is no longer canon) said, that after that the plans were delivered to Princess Leia. However a RetCon is in order here: he delivers the plans, which are coded, so he is in charge of the the mission to the presumed military installation to be launched. Mon Mothma sees that a group of agents would be sent there, and Kyle directs this group. The plans extracted by Kyle and schematics, found by Jyn Orso later are combined to be a complete "guide" to the presumed super weapon (just like in Lethal Alliance, Kyle steals only part of the plans, while additional materials are stolen by a Twilek mercenary). So then they do what they do in Rogue One, the plans are then delivered to Leia. And are deciphered completely only during A New Hope events. Surely I gave way to much imagination of mine, but I confessed many times, that Kyle Katarn is my fav, and I wouldn't give him away without a fight even if the Rogue One movie is awesomely perfect.
-
So IMDB confirms, that Mon Mothma is indeed played by Genevieve O'Reilly, who played the same character in Episode III, but all the scenes were deleted from final film. It's peculiar, that secrecy played a much larger role with R1, than it was with TFA. I checked O'Reilly page during the release of the trailer, and there was no info on her involvement in Star Wars, but some TV series were listed in 2015-2016. Not even a hint before that!

@ There are similarities as well, when we receive a mission from the Rebellion leadership. Who is that guy in the cape, by the way? I mean, he reminds me of Ian Mcfellen (Gandalf in LOTR, Magneto in X-Men).
