The path to the base folder for the App Version is hidden somewhat deeply. You'll need to get to the user Library holder which is hidden by default. You can get to the Library folder by going to Finder, go up to the Go menu, hold down the Option key, and click Library. The base folder is in this directory: /Library/Containers/com.aspyr.jediacademy.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Jedi Academy/base I recommend making an alias/shortcut for it elsewhere so it's easier to find.

Why would I need to copy the assets? That seems kinda silly. I'm just doing what you people are telling me to do. I also just figured it would run like OpenJK and JAE do. Launching from the jkgalaxies folder gives the "Failed to load renderer" error.

Do you need OLED? Seems extremely unnecessary for gaming, imo. Eventually that will be standard and much cheaper. Why not wait until then? Just seems really overkill to me. Though you might be loaded, which would make a lot more sense, in that case. But idk what you're wanting to use it for still, so I can't say much else.

Depends on what you do with it. If you only play JKA or old games, there's not much point in getting 4k. The screen you have would be fine. But if you're playing a lot of modern games or do stuff with video and graphics, 4k is recommended.

It's the pixels of the resolution. 1080p is 1920 pixels by 1080 pixels. 4k is the short name for 3840 pixels. More pixels = better quality (usually). If you have a 4k tv/monitor, you probably notice the 1080p resolution looking a bit fuzzy, and raising it to the above dimensions should help that. Though it won't improve the quality of the game itself, just the size of the rendered window.

There isn't really anything like KOTF because it was just a collection of people's mods in one, with a fancy menu to spawn things. I recommend just trying out stuff you find in our files section.

As the tutorial says, you need to point the launcher to the .app, not the folder.

You don't need JA+ to play on JA+ servers. However you do need JKJALaunch to play multiplayer on the steam version. Read this tutorial: [sharedmedia=tutorials:tutorials:193]

Using that symbol makes the server show up at the top of the server list. It shows as a . rather than the symbol so it's not in the way as much. That's why a bunch are at the top with ........ though I think it's silly to have so many that it hides the name completely. I'll give you that info later when I'm at my computer.

@@NAB622 if I made a theme myself, would you make it an option from your site for me to use? also, can you filter the € character for server names? Its a stupid practice that we all do, but would be nice to not include that in the tracker. also also, special characters are shown as a question mark, so anyone with alt-codes in their name are shown with a bunch of >. Not sure how that would be fixed. It might just be a font issue? Not really sure.

TGA transparency is done via a black/white alpha channel, not an actual transparent channel. So if you edited it as if it were a PNG, then it would cause problems.
