  1. @ I still think the Galaxy will be as if most people have forgotten of the past (and history) due to the overall disarray in Galactic affairs, be it technology, culture, trade and other. It looks like J.J. actually listened to the fans (which released a video recommendation for him), and "the future is old" (not shiny and new, but dirty and rusty).
  2. @@Archangel35757 I like the comment of one of the users on theforce.net, that the title can have several meanings. It is possible, the word "Force" might mean some certain physical manifestation to arise in the Galaxy. This might refer to the new evil, which is obviously not like in previous stories. Or perhaps to Luke Skywalker (why? the spoiler above might explain), which will play a more prominent role as a Jedi perhaps. We also have younger characters here, which might the Force to awaken.
  3. To tell the truth, there is not much confirmed officially. Even the already released concept-art received no comments from Disney or anyone else. It might have been a move... As for photos - there aren't any official of them either. Only some sneaking. =) @@Circa Seeing it was IMDB I wanted to post, that this might be wrong... But after reading the article, it seems it's true. The title is not as bad as it could be if you ask me. Meanwhile there was a portion of spoilers on Luke Skywalker. Good news also - we'll be seeing a 1 minute trailer for Episode VII very-very soon!!
  4. The latest episode (Breadking Ranks) had a strong connection with Clone Wars series - both visually and via music. While watched the scene with cadets I couldn't ignore the resemblance between the two. Thinking of the CW while watching Rebels and the fact that these two happen actually in one Galaxy, I feel somehow sad. Most if not all from that epoch is gone by this time period. Though the next episode will have a glimpse into the past.
  5. I don't think we will see Gregor, though I made a list of possible characters for Episode VII, who can return from both of the trilogies. More likely we will see a more significant clone, who might have appeared in more than one episode. Though they said, that they wanted to make another story for Gregor, but that was before cancellation of the CW. Baron Papanoida, Mon Mothma, Naberrie family, characters from Mandalore, Chewbacca and many more might appear in Rebels too.
  6. I am glad, that stormtroopers are not clone troopers. Well, at least most of them aren't. The sources of the time of Mysteries of the Sith video game suggested, that clones never actually served the Republic (it was before Episode II, well), and that after the legendary Clone Wars the technology of Spaarti cylinders was disbanded in the Empire. With the release of the Prequels, the story began changing. The clones were now in the hands of the Republic fighting the droids of the separatists. The Spaarti cylinders still remained as one of a few ways to clone a being, and in 20 years cloning was stopped (at least officially). It seems for now the Rebels are following the right trait and we see no major contradictions here... After Season 1, perhaps starting with Season 2 The Clone Wars began exploiting other materials, reestablishing stronger connections with the films and other sources. I am actually grateful to the series, because it breaks in a manner the new rule of disbanding all previous EU stories, via acknowledging Republic Commando (we see the main team in one of the episodes, thus the events of RC are close to canon), and KOTOR (we see Selkath in several episodes, also Dooku comments on Manaan, while one episode was supposed to include Revan as a Force ghost), among other things. We also see a senator from Taris, which makes the planet official. I do hope that Rebels will also find path to such things to glimpse and thus be re-established in Star Wars once again.
  7. For now Imperial stormtroopers seem to be good enough only for bullying citizens of Lothal. I see no other option for that. It is clear, that Rebels can't show too much brutality (we are unlikely to see a stormtrooper shooting an innocent pedestrian in the street, though this is the most likely scenario since we know what happens in Episode IV), because it's a show for teens and children, being an animated show after all. When someone says, that the Empire here also looks more like a bully, I can't agree more. But bear in mind, that this is the closest thing to what they are allowed to show about the evil Empire. It's a classical dictatorship with totalitarian government. It's risky to include one things into the plot and safer - others. If the authors could show the very true and evil face of the Empire, without using milder descriptions and ways, we would see in SW Rebels scenes, similar to Kristallnacht and Medz Yeghern. It would be difficult to broadcast such a show even if the meaning were right.
  8. Just read an article on www.tuskenium.com, which says, that there will be no familiar icy planet in Episode VII. Previously one of our forum users posted a picture of some Imperial-like stuff.
  9. @ More than that, both Ezra and Alladin stay in small secret room and steal food.
  10. There were some such objects in Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight. However they were distinguishable from other crates, stones, furniture, etc. And it wasn't too much fun to throw them, but the game had other opportunities to amuse a Star Wars fan.
  11. @@Angel Soul I guess that was never point of the game. So they never truly used it except for minor occurrence (like in JO, when you can move crates to push enemies, etc). Also such objects are quite unpredictable and often act unnaturally. In JO this was also used for R5 units, which lost gravity and were flying around on Doomgiver. I applied this to bottles and other things.
  12. @@DT85 That's what became clear with the latest episode. I saw several scenes when I wanted to shout "Hey, what are you waiting for? Here's your chance to break the stromtrooper effect used so many times in Star Wars and elsewhere", but instead they just stand pointing guns or fight the enemy with bare hands. Notably, it seems, no character (except for Luminara) has been killed in SW Rebels, as of yet. It's not clear what happens to stormtroopers in scenes, when TIE is blown up or we see major fightings. But I feel, all of them remain alive.
  13. Having watched Rise of the Old Masters, I must say, that this episode is closer to what I expect from the series than the one with C-3PO. Again familiar music motives, but there are some things more about this one. I feel this episode is in more connection with the premiere, than other stories (for now). Also:
  14. It's still possible to make objects, which can be affected by the Force in JA. But it is made in GtkRadiant and with scripts, so via new maps.
  15. Let's stay true to the topic of the thread: we are talking about Rebels here. I haven't seen the latest episode just yet, but I read an interesting article regarding Rebels. I hear the episode had quite a dark and I would say even gross moment (though I can't justify this word here, I haven't seen it yet, sorry) regarding one of the older characters from the prequels. The more interesting part of the article is that TCW became more popular after the Episode about Point Rain. And the latest episode of Rise of the Old masters is close in its role to that of Point Rain from TCW. I believe, that Rebels will have to be childish, whether someone wants that or not. The reasons for that are: Star Wars have been for the most part for quite a large audience of very different age, it was always intended, that children could watch a film, etc. The second reason is that it is an animated series, so it can't be an adult only story. Otherwise it would have limited access to the people, banned in some situations. I can agree on ordinary things, which can be seen in many other cartoons, and it adds nothing unusual perhaps to the story. However the whole Star Wars saga is based upon myths and legends, which are sometimes unknown to most people. G.Lucas said himself, that he got inspiration from Ancient mythology, and we can clearly see patterns of known historical European and world events. The Phantom Menace is derived in one way or another from a very certain Japanese movie Hidden Fortress. The hairstyle of some characters are based on those known from ancient civilizations of Latin America, while names like Padme or Naboo are the ones, which were words used in Mesopotamia. Describing something as crap is rarely real critics, and is used in many cases for the sake of calling a thing that way, rather than trying to discuss true pros and cons of the subject.
  16. This proves one more time, that we are missing certain things, which are quite common in previous films. What music motives will be in Episode VII? Will we hear the Imperial march again? What would be the length of the film? And many other things. More than that - right before the premiere a novel was released, but here we have no news on any new book regarding Episode VII. I mean, no one says anything about it. Perhaps they have found the author already?
  17. @ That's the picture I saw previously. It seems, we have quite a lot of ruins. The description of this particular set mentioned a destroyed vehicle as well. I wonder, whether that means, that a starfighter was taken down and fell into a house or major structure, where a battle was taking place. I am soooo eager to see Episode VII now, especially that they are going to release the trailer soon (though it might include scenes from other Episodes for the most part, and only one tiny piece of shots from Episode VII).
  18. @ I like that, thanks for the pictures. One of the spoilers earlier was describing a tower of the villain, at the cliff near the sea. And I thought, that this island would the the place, where they were filming it. I wonder how would they explain the ruins there... Jedi temples of the Old Republic? Ancient cities like of Massassi? Or grove ruins of ancient species like in KOTOR?
  19. Just watched the Fighter Flight. It's far more enjoyable, than Episode 2. Yes that one had the familiar duo of droids, but that's it. This one seemed to be very silly at first, but I like the way they present another side of the Empire. It would be nice to see more familiar faces, like the Emperor, even via a hologram. Though it's most likely Palpatine doesn't show his face too much these days.
  20. Two his daughters are also present in this scene. ) And we might see them in Episode VII as well. Btw there was an interview with his son, who knew something about Episode VII, and when asked he responded nothing. =)
  21. This period of 30 ABY reminds of Cold War, I think. If we take real-life examples, that's what we had in the end of XXth century - no open confrontation, but local conflicts in Africa and Asia, also revolutions. Same seems to be here. I wonder what Coruscant looks like (I guess the same). As for George Lucas - he appeared once, so why not again? I don't know of a Pantoran lifespan, but perhaps they can survive up to 30 ABY. When they announced a new SW series with real-life actors, Baron Papanoida was believed to be involved. For now various actors are claimed to have a cameo in Episode VII.
  22. @ Now that is interesting! Thank you. If this news is true, then it would explain why they are rebooting the whole franchise. I also like the idea of more than one villain, and it would be nice to see them acting alone from each other, though nothing says otherwise. The title is surely temporary, they will most certainly use some unusual word either from English or derived from Latin (though perhaps we've never seen anything like that in Star Wars just yet, except for words in the plot itself). It conradicts the previous mentioning of the part of Max von Sydow. The most captivating phrase here is perhaps, that I just thought, that As always, I am eager to see more. I will add only, that someone leaked a picture of a forest scene with blue screen and metall or stone debris, Does it mean, they won't be using the CGI for these guys like in Episode III?
  23. @ It's a wonder we've seen so many pictures of so many locations... To sum it up, here is a list of probable planets, we might see in Episode VII. The latest screens of a forest might suggest, that this is either part of the cliff planet of from Yavin... Or perhaps this is a new location indeed? There would an indirect mentioning of Endor nonetheless, one concept art suggests that. Of course they might have made it out of curiosity and for metaphore purposes, but if we see such a seen with the villain holding one particular object in his hand... Then he or his agents travelled to Endor and might have come across the local population. As for Max von Sydow - I am planning to rewatch some of his works. I already had a look on Shutter Island and Judge Dredd (old one). I also remember Robin Hood and Minority report, where he played a major bad guy. Funny I don't remember him in What Dreams May Come. Perhaps I should have a look on filmography of others as well.
  24. @ They said, that the "veteran" would tell more than just about the Sith. I find it curious, that he survived two full-scale wars, it's as if you meet a person, who survived WWI and WWII. As for the offspring of Luke... It would be interesting - it is clear, that this character would be "damaged" both physically and spiritually. And there must some kind of pre-story for that. Some say, an explanation would be in Episode VII. I wouldn't like to go into investigating too much on prequels here... But Qui Gon knew of the prophecy not from Dooku, or at least it wasn't manipulated by Sidious (there was no connection yet by that time). Though it is official that Plaguies manipulated the midiclorians to create Anakin, I believe, that it was the Force, which manipulated Plaguies into experimenting with itself. By the time of the Empire, Palpatine needed no longer any traditional Sith teachings or Rule of two - he surpassed any other of his predecessors. That is why the Galactic Empire consisted for the most part of Imperial bureaucrats like Mass Amedda and Imperial military like Motti, Needa, Jerjerrod and of course - Tarkin. However when the Empire fell, it was taken over by the secret power of Palpatine - the Inquisitors. It is possible Episode VII would evolve around someone else, but it left its mark, I think, so that is why the Empire would be different in Episode VII...
  25. Having looked through the above posts and rumours one more time, I just thought, that in reality Star Wars follows a path circle. It's what we see in many sources, including KOTOR. Besides, Darth Vader says the same in Episode IV. "The circle is now complete". I am saying all this, because: Anyways, the prophecy of the Chosen one was fullfilled, but does it mean, that nothing else can happen? Perhaps the balance exists, but it can be broaken? The prophecy says nothig about it, but why not?
