  1. @ The moment I saw the trailer I started comparing the planets in the video with both the rumours and the films. I guess this is a new planet. Maybe it's a region on Dagobah? However the film might already have one or even two familiar planets besides that. We seen a desert planet here (possibly Tatooine? rumours suggested so), a water world with mountains (one of many mentioned - the one with dark tower (concept art), the city lagoon (another one) or Mon Calamari) and an ice forest (it might be a vision by the way!). The small droid runs in the street revealed first to the public, as you might remember. Some call him the next generation of droids after R2. but there was a picture of other astromech droids, which don't look like classic R2 or R5 units. The scene with stormtroopers makes one feel that they are larger than ordinary troopers from classic films. Like 1,9 meters high. The music is close to classic Episode VI motive when Luke prepares for his "jump" into Sarlacc pit - curious how this scene turned out eventually, because this particular music can be heard during Episode II trailer, when camera also switches between scenes on Geonosis, Kamino and Palpatine's red office on Coruscant. About the "lightsaber" - what if it's not such weapon? If it's a relic, then probably it uses some sort of energy instead of a crystal, and being simbolic in its nature, the weapon has additional ports for this energy to be shown - both as a blade and two side mini-blades, thus making sort of a notorious weapon, recognized in the past by people as a simbol of "butcherer" of the Galaxy, who wiped out lots of worlds and nations long before the Clone Wars.
  2. Hey, I enjoyed that! =) deginitely it's not much, but more than I expected. I was hoping to see Gwendoline Christie somehow and Adam Driver. But seeing Daisy Ridley - I really like her look, it has so much to do with classic concepts. And the music... It also touched certain my feelings as of a fan. I am almost speechless. =) For the most part it showed what we already know from concepts. As for the lightsaber - I guess there will be an explanation. What if these are relics like the remainings of the previous Sith Lords lightsabers. Or maybe the blade can switch crystals, which ignite different red blades, one being good against a Jedi Knight duelist, while the other suitable to strike a fellow Sith?
  3. Jedi temple guard looked great in the show, though unexplainably strange - during the Knight Fall we see no such warriors struggling against clones (even though it's understandable, that they came up with this design much later, after Episode III release). I wonder if these were a nod towards the changes in the Republic: just like the Blue Senate guards were seen more rarely with the introduction of the Red Guards, and Clone troopers changing their appearance to more intimidating one, the same seem to happen to the Jedi Order as well: most Jedi look human or alive, emotionally readable (even though emotions are restrained), unlike the Jedi Temple guards, who hide their faces, making them look more like unidentifiable troops, whose loyalties lie elsewhere. Season 6 stories with Yoda prove, that even the old Master is not sure, whether they are of the Jedi Order in reality... But sticking back to the models - I really like the look of these models. Depa Billaba uses a stronger eye makeup, if you look on her in the films or photos. It actually was her specialty besides other decorations. Strange we never see her in the CW by the way. SW Galactic Battlegrounds seem to be the only source revealing her voice. P.S. Jedi Temple guards masks remind of the ones, which can be acquired in SW The Old Republic on both sides, including the Jedi.
  4. Lord of the Rings had a lot of scenes, which I like to recall or even rewatch. Especially the first part, which I always strongly connect to the book in my mind. It has lots of scenery views, with much perspective and space, which are always accompanied by a very nice sound and music in such films. For instance I enjoyed a lot, when Frodo and others pass by Argonath statues by the river. It was so impressive, that at one point I looked forward to actually seeing it myself. If a character is charismatic enough, the scene with him would be memorable as well. Somehow I like the tone and feel of the scene when Gollum "sings" elsewhere, while Frodo is stuck in the spider net. The translated song was about a fly being caught in net and soon-to-be a "good food", no need to cry. Close to this one are several shots of previous victims of the Shelob, like a mummified orc and a strange bird upside down. I don't know to what extent French movies are known abroad, I mean the old ones. In Fantomas I like the most emotional episodes with Luis de Funes, who has the part of comissaire Juve there (two many scenes to describe). They are funny, alive and you rarely feel tired of rewatching them. In James Bond series I do enjoy the episodes, which are either the best picture of the correspondent time (like 1970s), or of country (like Hong Kong), or is a genuine homage to old 007 films. I don't know if I am a fan, but it's good to look into the behind-the-scenes section in JB franchise - most of gadgets or vehicles (and even special effects) had to be recreated in real (except for the latest films, which are still exciting). In Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon battles and duels are usually praised a lot, though for me it was often a very specific dialogue between Master Li Mu Bai and Jen Yu, while they struggle against each other in the bamboo branches.
  5. A very good idea - for Lego fans, they won't need to buy a new Millenium Falcon set, just switch the radar brick =) Meanwhile, the teaser will be introduced on December 1st. It will also be available tomorrow, on Friday, at iTunes. I feel so excited, because I remember seeing the Episode II trailer for the first time and it was like "Wait, it looks like Episode V, but it is not. And it's close to Episode I, but it is not either." The trailer for Episode I introduced even major details for me, which made me make out my own - very different - plot for new Star Wars. It's like a puzzle - you get some details and begin combining facts and rumours.
  6. Strangely I forgot to mention, but have you noticed what kind of disc Ezra is actually holding in "Empire Day"?
  7. Harrison Ford wanted Han to be killed in Episode VI. And somehow I feel that Han Solo would die if not in Episode VII, then in later episodes. "But that is my belief" as Kreia would put it. For now I plan to re-watch some of the films with him like Blade Runner. =) I still hope that the Villain would be a very new character, who pretended to be . Meanwhile someone made a gif of fake trailer for Episode VII.
  8. @ Originally DS was created by Bevel Lemelisk, a scientist, who paid for his mistake with his life, but survived his multiple deaths to construct more and more weapons. With the release of Episode II it became clear, that Geonosians are the creators, though the retcon suggested Bevel Lemelisk was in contact with them by that time and later got his hands on the project and completed it soon to be built. So Palpatine wasn't the original creator. =) SWTOR and later episodes of TCW reveal, that at every era of SW there was a political power which wanted a superweapon at their side - Rakata used the Star Forge (and later used by Revan and Malak), Mass Shadow Generator used by Revan to defeat mandalorians, and Dark Reaper being a Sith weapon later. We also see electro proton bomb use on Malastare, as well as Malevolence of the CIS during the Clone Wars among many others. Additional episodes show a kyber crystal as a basis for a powerful beam used countless times in the past as well. I do like the idea of a planet-weapon. The rumour said that:
  9. @ Where did you find this one? I heard it some time ago, though at the time I paid much more attention to the characters than the actual planet-location. Even though it might be interesting. As for the already mentioned character of "The Wise" I wouldn't like to see him - I like the fact that he would remain a very much mysterious person even 60+ years after. He might be mentioned, but... Also I can't see the reason, why would he wait so long and not act immediately after Battle of Endor?
  10. @ Yes, I even wanted to mention that it was you who suggested the Plaguies return, though I myself would prefer a very new character. The article suggests, that the Sith Lord (the Wise) wouldn't be seen in Episode VII, but would re-appear in Episode VIII. It was also said, that he would have two guards or followers of his spirit (or any other form). Though this is more like a rumour. However... @@therfiles After hearing that I wanted to see the trailer even more. =) @@DT85 To be frank, I don't like this story either. But I think some parts are missing here and thus make the story too dull... I personally prefer the version which I read (and to which I contributed myself partly) previously - about the unknown villain, who is trying to trick out Luke out of hideout and new villains reappearing later in the film and being a different party in the upcoming conflict. This particular part seems to be the less truthworthy: There is also a good thing about the upcoming film (this is a real spoiler to come out true), which suggests the previous part of rumours are at least partly wrong:
  11. Theforce.net posted an interesting article regarding Episode VII misconceptions so far. Some were pretty much obvious from the beginning. Some are shocking. In short: Some speculated about one particular character from Episode III in this thread...
  12. @@Barricade24 I agree with @@IrocJeff - the parades are a legal part of the Empire. I also thought of the Germans in mid XXth century, which held such to show the power and might of the political system, of the government and of ideology. I think we haven't seen them in Episode IV-VI because the plot takes us to the frontlines mostly (and shooting such an event would be difficult at those times). @ I also thought of a different person for Fulcrum. But I don't think it's Ezra's father. Many speculate that it is indeed Ahsoka Tano, though I think she would hide herself and stay on a remote planet to be found much later. I would like to know how Kanan survived Order 66. Most Padawans and younger Jedi stayed at the Jedi Temple, while older and more experienced were sent into battle and they perished on other planets. The show revealed a bit more about other characters though - we know that Sabine studied at the Imperial Academy on Mandalore, thus this facility most likely replaced the Mandalorian Academy seen in TCW show.
  13. I am surprized to learn, that the voice of Fulcrum is the reason for many discussions and talks on the next episodes of SW Rebels. People want to know, who he might be. Some say it's Bail Organa, but some joked it might be Darth Maul. =) I enjoyed this minor article on theforce.net, which provides an analysis of the voice. Unexpectedly, but Fulcrum might be a female ally (!) Check the voice analysis here
  14. Since when Tatooine were a Republic world? At least SWTOR and KOTOR suggest it were.

    1. Numfast

      Numfast

Some time later Republic abandoned it for some reasons.

  15. @ Seeing that planet in Episode VII would be a very logical move. It has always been iconic in the events of Star Wars: it's where all the story began. It laid foundation and traditions for all other planets, even the ones, which looked 100% different. Theforce.net reported, that we would see a city, which is located near the sea, and both spacecraft and ships would be coming and going into the port. The concept was spotted on two photos, where members of the team are seen (with actual concept art in the background, also Millenium Falcon seen there). Strange, that we missed these two in our discussion (pictures inside): There is also a description of certain characters, which rises the question - how many villains are there in Episode VII? To sum it up: And we have a list of possible good guys as well. =)
  16. @ And it should. I mean, that Fulcrum is mostly likely to be a new character, though the Rebels are released at the time and about the time, when old faces tend to re-appear.
  17. @@Archangel35757 I doubt he has lot of ties with Rebel cells around the Galaxy or money, or resources, or inluential friends and allies. He is capable as a Jedi - sure - but even the ones, who knew him in the past, might (and most likely) be unaware of his whereabouts. Besides his goal is staying on Tatooine, close to Luke Skywalker. @ I didn't say we actually saw Fulcrum, but rather we "saw" him. I used such phrase not to reveal the whole episode at once Though the story turned out to be a good one and full of action, the so called frynocks look more like angry pugs and not as intimidating as I thought them to be.
  18. Very well, I watched the latest episode and it seems, that not only stormtroopers are dumb as we discussed them to be. Others also miss again and again when shooting Rebels. Rogue Squadron 3D showed those particular guys differently We also "see" the above mentioned Fulcrum. Judging by what other characters say, it is a mysterious Rebel sympathizer, though I have absolutely no ideas, who that might be. I feel it is surely not Bail Organa and not Obi Wan Kenobi. He seems to be too resourceful. It is unclear why he would use that place to give Hera and Sabine, what they were supposed to take.
  19. @ I feel that Bail Organa will play a less prominent role in Rebels, at least for Season 1. You were correct to say, that the show is about the Lothal rebels, and it was stated somewhere, that the goal would be to unite rebels across the Galaxy. This means, that while Kanan and Hera have their missions on Lothal and nearby, other Rebel cells (obviously) also started a struggle of their own against the Empire. This makes me think of Biggs, Luke Skywalker's friend, and Morgan Katarn, who also supported the Alliance. There are dozens of other characters, who were affected by the Galactic dictatorship, and I guess we might see the return of them back to Canon (this already happened to Dark troopers and Death troopers).
  20. @@hleV You've said so many times, that the show sucks and you hate it, that it feels strange you care to discuss it at all and that you even continue to watch it. For someone who despises the series, you show quite the interest in the upcoming episodes. Nevertheless I would say, that the first episode and probably the second are among the most captivating now in SW Rebels. They do have traits, which make me remember the good old days of Dark Forces, when I played as Kyle Katarn. I would agree on the fact, that it would make me feel sad, if the show rewrote completely the capture of Death Star plans, and regrettably I feel it eventually will. The other episodes of late seem to serve to fill the gap. They are truly nothing special, but we might want to remember the episodes in TCW, which seemed to be irrelevant as well, but later their meaning was explained in newer stories. For instance - the hostage crisis in the Senate building. We saw what happened right before the attack and later we meet the very adorable Sy Snootles, such a "lovely creature", who can handle the dirty work of a bounty hunter herself. To tell the truth this story was a lot of fun. Perhaps something like that would be in Rebels as well. @ This is not the first time we see a connection to the Clone Wars. The breaking ranks episode also introduced a training device, created, perhaps, through the technologies Moralo Eval introduced for count Dooku - the Box. The music also adds to remembering that episode. What I like now about the atmosphere in Rebels is that in actually contradicts TCW - there we see adventurous people, mostly young in their soul, who see the war more like a challenge worthy of their talents and lifestyle. It's clear in Season 1. The feel changes as we see as both Anakin and others grow up, and the Galaxy becoming darker - with crisis on Mandalore (and Satine saying "Things are changing"), situation with misunderstanding between CIS and the Republic (the story around Mina Bonteri and heroes on both sides) and many other plot lines, which together tie into Episode III coming soon. Most characters in these times believe, that the cruelties are on the side of CIS and its leaders like Dooku and Grievous. SW Rebels actually accentuate, that those were the atrocities of the war, which are only natural for a conflict. But 15 years later the war is over, and when something horrible happens - it is indeed a very different and far more terrible in its scale (to be precise - the state is "butchering: its own citizens, though this is softened by the type of the show - it's animated, thus it will inevitably be watched by children; besides I mentioned before which historical events might have happened at the time of SWR).
  21. The latest episode was nothing special really. I hear this is a bridge between the beginning and truly important events. The show will also introduce a very new character, which will be appearing at much later stage. the next episode would be devoted to Hera and Sabine, and there will be some mystery of sort. Also a nod towards the time of the Clone Wars.
  22. @ I am positive he will be mentioned - indirectly at least. It is unavoidable, because his very appearance was quite an impact in the Galaxy. All further events would be seen from the perspective that he is gone. This might be noticed by characters as "after the death of the Emperor", because that's how he was known to the most in the OT. I doubt the Rebels ever used Darth Sidious. The Imperials also prefer to refer to their leader as the Emperor (though there was a reason for that in the script in Episode IV - the Emperor was a mere puppet at the time, his role became more profound during production of Episode V). Palpatine would also seem to fade out in 20 years. P.S. Don't forget to add @ before the name of the User, otherwise there is a link to the name only. =) @ Well, we'll have to wait until December 2015 - the title might sound different when you actually see it on screen. Wait. I've got an idea. A bit later: Here it is!! You can actually make it here.
  23. @ I always felt, that the story of Plaguies and even Maul was sort of a plot conceived some years before TPM. The books now explain many things, but I guess that when Plaguies was alive, he wanted the Galaxy ruled by invisible Sith for the most part and perhaps only much later revealed their presence. He still - seems so - followed the traditions of previous Sith orders. Unlike his apprentice, who did what most of the predecessors couldn't even imagine of. Sidious was like enjoying his victory (soon to be) over the Jedi, the Republic and even the moment of surpassing the Sith as the Sith. The moment he tells Anakin about the Wise Dark Lord, is actually sort of a nod towards what is gone and the fact that he - Sidious - managed to fool him. And it is him now to gain all the power in the Galaxy, not the feared (and very much dead) Sith lords of the past, who laid foundation for the philosophy and teachings, which triumph now in one single person - the Emperor of the Galaxy. But enough of them in Episode VII thread. =) It's obvious, that Palpatine would be at least mentioned in Episode VII. It's unavoidable. But perhaps we will see a large statue or a bust, or even a hologram of the Emperor. There was also a rumour before, that the daughter of Carrie Fisher would reprise the role of young Leia in the film. Some said it would be either a hologram or a memory vision from the past. From the time she was on Alderaan. Nothing else explained, but I thought, what if they wanted to make stronger connections between films and use this one to show that the Inquisitors (or other new enemies in Ep VII) existed as early as 0 ABY, during the Emperor's reign. Yes, SW Rebels prove they existed at the time, but Episode VII needs links with prior movies, so that the Saga looked as a whole. Perhaps this would show as Leia and Bail stand on Alderaan talking during the arrival of some sort of Imperial delegation or more likely an Imperial investigation to find the Force sensitive children and take them away to the Emperor. At the time Leia might have seen that as another Imperial cruelty and injustice, but with certain events in Episode VII a long forgotten story might have got a new meaning, and she suddenly remembered. Theforce.net also posted an interesting article regarding the new title of Episode VII. You can read it here Perhaps @ would like to read it
  24. There was a new logo of Star Wars, not Episode VII somewhere, and though I like the design, I guess it's important to preserve such minor details as Star Wars font, Star Wars starting music theme, "A long time ago slogan" and other things (like Rodians being Rodians, etc). For now I am eager to learn more about Luke Skywalker (as the latest news were posted yesterday), the new teaser and continuity. For now: (careful: this one consists of some fresh spoilers, "very dangerous putting them together") I also can't wait to read some sort of an interview of Gwendoline Christie for instance. Btw, there was an interview with Robert Englund (he played Freddy Krueger) about Mark Hamill getting the role of Luke Skywalker many years ago. You can read more here.
  25. @ It was revealed in earlier rumours, that the Galaxy doesn't care for the Galactic Civil War any more, and even less for the Clone Wars. It is true, that some people do remember (one particular character in Episode VII is supposed to be the one, who remembers all these wars and reminds the new characters about them). However even with technology it is possible to forget a lot. We must remember, that during the 20+ years of the Empire there was only one truth. The mechanism of propaganda among other things wiped out the facts from the memory of the ordinary people (I am sure the mass media would have their part in all this for the Empire), who don't know, what really happened. The Jedi were deemed traitors, the Emperor was attacked (and according to Tarkin novel no one truly asked the question, why he looked so terrible), the Clone Wars a scheme by traitors to the Republic, and the Jedi Archives destroyed with other sources rewritten according to new doctrine of the Empire, "which exist for ten thousand years". I must say, there are examples in real life, when people forget things in 10 or 20 years - change of ideals, instability and review of the past (the revanchist views actually). The best example - the USSR. If asked, people who lived there would describe very differently the events and lifestyle of those times, depending on their views and activities in last 20 years. The next generation would receive knowledge of these and have their own new opinion, which would have nothing to do with reality. As the Empire collapsed, some planets (like Tatooine or Nal Hutta) didn't care much about truth, while others (Coruscant or Mon Calamari, Naboo, etc) would pay much attention to banning the ideals of the Empire, reversing the already established order of things. Even though some major events would be remembered still, people care more for reestablishing the Galaxy now, when the Empire is gone and without the previous pressure from dictatorship certain systems would fall into chaos, because there is no longer democratic or Imperial institution in existence. Only the vacuum of ideals and logical ways, previously known. Possibly someone else on the political arena is creating a new ideology, based on neglecting the Empire more than referencing the traditions of the Old Republic. I guess we will see such figures or hear about them in Episode VII, while the true struggle against the evil would lie on the shoulders of old heroes and younger ones.
