  1. @ShadowPhoenix No secret, that characters from both Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy re-appear in DP. Also heroes (and villains) from other sources make an appearance or a minor cameo.
  2. I finally got my hands on the latest issue. It's has a very nice tie-in with Dantooine, and the story with Tok develops in the right way. It's not very novice regarding the fact, that Dooku tries to have someone Force-sensitive to serve him, but this someone actually disobeys him eventually. But I like the conflict between the separatists as well, though Tok is mostly likely now one of them. The case with Mace Windu and this Tameron is also a sign towards Episode III, it seems. I mean that he is harsher than most of the Jedi, and would even practice certain techniques, avoided by most of the members of the Jedi Order. I mean In Episode III there is a duel with Palpatine and Windu uses the same phrase as Palpatine a little earlier. "Not very Jedi-like", as Tavion would say.
  3. This one will be a crucial addition to the JA, as December 2015 will be closer and closer
  4. How about "remove entity" through the script? There was such an option, as far as I remember. The other option might be making soundset (open sound.txt at sound folder and add your lines there), and make a trigger with command soundset name_of_your_soundset. In this case - no need for target_speaker. To deactivate it you will have to make a second trigger, which will activate soundset kejim_exterior for example.
  5. @DrXann Obviously they show only a few things of many. Besides the things we might already know (the new X-Wings, TIE fighters, modified Y-wing bombers, Imperial shuttles and others), they are sure to include very new craft - there are already lots of rumours regarding the concepts only, describing the appearance of the yet mysterious vessels.
  6. I also like these more than Revan. Mostly because they are new nonetheless. They might have ordinary details like robes, helmets or hoods, but in reality they are very much novice. And it's good that JA is expanding its (not very small now) society of characters from all the Galaxy possible. =)
  7. It's a funny thing, that there is also a concept of the Temple Guard for the The Old Republic video game. It is known, that the Clone Wars used characters from EU and old trilogy, as well as Selkath (species from KOTOR) and locations from the cancelled Star Wars 1313. I just wonder which source was the first to use such a concept. =) It suggests, that Jedi Temple guards existed long before the Clone Wars.
  8. Wait! What have we here? Rogue Squadron 3D is at GOG.com! It sooooo cool!

I still have the original CD of Rogue Squadron 3d.But as soon as you beat a mission the game crashes.

I vaguely recall using a fix to help with the crashes, but on the other hand, gog is known to release custom fixes, so there's certainly hope they'll do something about it.

No problems with running the game from GOG. I've already bought several games from there, though this is the first SW game I acquired.

  9. @ The whole concept of the Clone Wars was very different during the shooting of Episodes IV-VI. But that is another story. =) On the ideas, you've presented. Ahsoka = Fulcrum\ For some reasons I still doubt she is the one. In my opinion she would be rather someone searching answers to her own life elsewhere in the Galaxy. I always assumed, she would be following a path far from the known space of the Galaxy. However she might return to major star systems and meet the rebels. this would make her a much more powerful Jedi than Kanan and a much better mentor to Ezra. Palpatine - the Senate As of now, the Senate is a full supporter of the regime. 3-19 years after the Clone Wars the institution would have been cleansed of those, considered not worthy of working for the Empire, like aliens. Most senators might have been replaced by human representatives. even some time before Episode III the Senate adopted the laws on the regional governors. In Episode IV it was disbanded, but I guess in real life the Senate seized to exist about one year after the establishment of the Empire. just a building and formal meetings took place. A small group of those against the regime were better known to fans via EU - this included Bail Organa, Mon Mothma and Garm Bel Iblis. Bail Organa appearance was revealed later, and the group became larger with other rebels joining the forces in different books and games. But even without the TFU it was always implied, that it was a small group in the beginning. The Rebels series also indicate, that the Galaxy has various rebel cells in different systems - and the next seasons would be developing this concept, I think. It is good you've mentioned Lux Bonteri here. TCW series actually showed a contraversial, yet curious aspect - the future Darth Vader himself trained some of the future rebels. On Felucia the farmers were taught to fight the pirates, and later they are seen helping the Republic against the droids. the Onderon plot as well as other similar episodes actually show, that there were lots of prerequisites for such small cells to appear in the Galaxy.
  10. @@Rooxon, thanks for the announcement! We'll be waiting for the first results, for the screenshots and the models as well.
  11. @Jeff Thanks! It is true, that we tried to use as much information as possible on the OT era, though certain elements from other time periods will be visible as well. The beginning of the mod (aka Chapter I) is actually derived from Dark Forces I and II style. We'll posting news some time later, there is actually a new species in the mod, which we will be presenting soon.
  12. @Jolly Nope, we continue our work, we had a breakout after Christmas, but now we are back on track. It's that we prefer for now to spend all the time on the mod itself rather than promoting it additionally somehow. We will post news very soon, I simply decided to postpone them for a while. @GPChannel No, the mod is pretty much alive. As I said before - we want to release Chapter I soon. Almost all of its maps are complete.
  13. @@Archangel35757 I see the duels in Episodes IV-VI the same way I mentioned above about the politics and power vs philosophy and morales + Capital (Coruscant) affairs vs Swamps/Desert (Dagobah/Tatooine). What I mean is that the duels in the prequels depict the era - just like clothes, traditions, colors, technologies and social motives. In the prequels this meant, that duels were the battles of force (not the Force per se) and show of power ("I am warrior! Fear me!" - no matter who would say that). It's a very characteristic of that time. By Episode V Yoda sees that such duels prove absolutely nothing - many perished in such battles and many more in wars, which were behind the facades of such struggles and social and idealistic doubts during the last years of the Republic with all their design and extravagant fashion and manners, which were gone years later. The duels of this time - of the OT - are the battles of mind, of soul, of ideals - for real. Why I would say thanks to CW is that at least one episodes emphasizes that no one actually cares what they are fighting for in the first place. I my opinion a saber struck became less dangerous than the Dark Side mortal blow after the Clone Wars, during the Dark times. The Rebels seem to balance between the two - Ezra is learning lightsaber techniques to certain extent, while learning the philosophical aspects and being a Rebel himself after all.
  14. Rebels break one idea, that was pretty much established for me in Episode VI - Yoda is indeed the last of the Jedi with Luke just a learner, but later a Jedi by the end of the Battle of Endor. No other alive Jedi. The phrase of Yoda - even if he were wrong - sounded very convincing, that the Jedi were all but destroyed by this time, and Luke would be the last of them. However countless EU stories somehow ignored this aspect (no surprise). Dark Forces II showed Qu Rahn (died in 5 ABY, year after Yoda), later in the books we have Vergere, Dark Woman and others. Starkiller from TFU is also another violation. And now with Ezra - isn't it strange, that he would make probably a more skilled Jedi than the main character Luke by 0 ABY and even more by 3 ABY?
  15. @@Archangel35757 It was the tradition of Star Wars from the start to copy things from real life world. =) Be it the Leia's hairstyle (Pre-European Latin American hairstyle of females), the planet Naboo (word taken from ancient language just like Padme = Lotus, and Amidala = beauty in ancient languages of Mesopotamia, if not mistaken), Coruscant style (New York art-deco), Galactic Empire (the Nazi), Trade Federation (East India Company), battle droids (African totems in appearance), Valley of the Dark Lords (valley of Kings in Egypt), etc. =) Speaking of Clone Wars - it became much better when it introduced other sides than the Republic and CIS, as well as showed the struggle not just between the Jedi and the Sith or clones vs droids, but showed ambitious politicians or corrupted senators, mysterious beings and others. Most people don't like the episodes covering the Senate affairs in the show, but I did enjoy seeing the conflict from a very different perspective - for instance from the point of view of a separatist (and I mean not Nute Gunray, no). As for Episodes I-III - I don't see too much childish stuff in there. For me the prequels show the era, that was ended by Palpatine, when people rarely thought of philosophical aspects and morales, but rather relied on technologies, political power and money, clinging upon legislation and debates on Coruscant as if could save them from threats ahead, with the Republic being the absolute of everything. The Original trilogy shows, that the true leitmotif - not of their time, but perhaps in entire Star Wars timeline - would be revealed far from the busy capital, among the swamps of Dagobah, in the coldness of Hoth and among the deep forests of Endor. (and besides, it would be worse, if the prequels surpassed the OT, wouldn't it?) Anyways what I like about Rebels is that while the episodes develop mostly around only a few ideas for now, it inherited some ideas true to all Star Wars, probably stronger than some other materials, released of late.
  16. Darth Vader is dead. But we might see him either as a hologram or a memory from someone, who lived during the Empire. Also:
  17. I haven't seen Episode 9 yet, but I have a feeling that Episode 11 would include Lando Calrissian. The preview shows a bit of him and while it deals with gambling, this character is most likely to make an appearance. A little later Well, I watched the episode. Nothing too special, if you ask me. Probably because I feel thrilled only when I see a new character in a story, but here we have the minimum of the already known characters. The mountain and its surroundings look like those of Ilum, but it feel strange, that the Jedi would use such places to test their padawans. This episode also rises a few questions. How would Kanan know of this place? It was mentioned, that the holocron had many clues, but nevertheless we might notice, that have only a few backstories known. I guess, this might mean, that Kanan might be from Lothal himself, and he returned here just like Revan did at some point - "it was a call of home" - the phrase Kreia says, when saying why Revan would defend the Outer Rim from enemies. The new lightsaber looks strange, I agree. The picture explains, that it's also a blaster. Kanan is the first (probably) Jedi, who is using crude weapons of this kind, so Ezra might be following his steps.
  18. Very nice! The Hutts! Where did you get that model? I mean did you create a hutt for JA or is a combined screen of various games? Anyways this one looks very good.
  19. KOTOR II was by far both an admiration and a disappointment. It has a very good story with nice ideas and phylosophical approach. But if we look into game design and Star Wars relations, then K2 would receive a poor mark here.. =( i agree with the comment above, that it was strange to see in KOTOR 2 the traits of the films, for instance astromech units now sound like R2 and not like T3-M4. The Telosian shuttles look like direct predecessors of Imperial shuttles, the same applies to Sith battleship Ravager, and I can continue for quite a long time. =) Even though most people couldn't believe that lucasarts were gone, and later the company was disbanded, it is not entirely true. Lucasarts is still alive, though it's under control (or on the contrary in charge of) other people regarding Star Wars. In some cases I felt, that Star Wars was so popular, that people rarely did think, that it was also important to keep in ming other things like better gameplay or controls. Not to mention graphics. There were really good and interesting games though, which I occasionally replay, and many are considered real classics (Monkey Island, Grim Fandango).
  20. I use Bamboo, though I would like to have a more powerful tablet. It works differently for Mac and PC, so I am still undecided what to do. =) But it helps creating textures and pictures nonetheless. Do you use Corel Draw or Photoshop? Or maybe something else? I really like the clean look of the wooden texture.
  21. I agree with @ The Inquisitor doesn't sound intimidating enough, though there is a production explanation - this time period already has two main villains - the Emperor and Vader. So their voices must sound deeper and more powerful at all times. It's likely we will see the three in one scene.
  22. I wonder how Lego would reprise these into their sets.
  23. One of the Chinese forums leaked the photos of the main characters in Episode VII - these are actually the action figures, which will be released presumably in 2016, after the film - acording to starwarsunderworld site. The actual picture (spoilers!) is below:
  24. @@Circa The names are real, while other things are rumours only. Notably the codenames can or can not be real, and it's ok. It's the production stuff, which won't make it into the final work. =) Some rumours have already proved to be wrong, but still they posed quite an interesting concept. Many others were revealed to appear in the film (like stormtroopers and classic characters, which at first were rumours as well).
  25. Darth Bane has never been of too much interest for me. I would agree, that his original form is closer to what he represented. There is something I like about the newer version - perhaps the way it looks like a really old forgotten armour, no longer used these days. Being skinny is okey for this model - besides the fact, that the models is using flames and looks larger, it's a dead corpse after all. It's notable, that at one point they wanted to add Bane at much earlier stage - to Season 2 or 3. About Mortis. There he had a very classic look. Revan also can be seen there, but they both didn't make it into the show. Actually I like the Sith spirits models on Korriban more - they have these cool dark cap and ivory masks.
