But who says a next gen engine would be used? Discovering the plans for Jk:Ja today would possibly shed new light on the unreal engine and it's possibilites. TFU was released in 2009. So sitting behind a desk at LucasArts thinking about JK:JA would most likely not be about copying TFU, but about creating a better JKO.

If it was made because of the announced plans for a sequel trilogy to the films. So imagine, discovering the plans for a "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" game in 2014 Would Kyle Katarn be in the game? If so, would he be the leading character?Would Luke Skywalker be in the game? Would he be the leader of the Jedi Academy?Would Han Solo actually appear in the game instead of just the Millennium Falcon?Instead of Tavion returning, could there be a cyborg Desann as the main villain?Think about it

I got JC2 multiplayer this summer - 276 hours played. That kind of environment is best created on green screen, inside a studio. Then again, I heard JJ Abrams prefers real settings over CGi. Green hills, huge rock formations + CGi and movie props = DagobahYavinNabooMon Cala/ Dac Either that part of the image is photoshopped or they might be using cardboard cutouts - look at the shadows.
