  1. Holy crap! I had no idea Dark Disciple was this good! This is a 'don't miss' for any Clone Wars fan: https://itunes.apple.com/us/audiobook/dark-disciple-star-wars-unabridged/id1004685364

I actually found the closing 1/3rd to be unbearable D:

      It had potential, though.

Really? :o I haven't gotten to that part yet. No spoilers. ;)

What a pity. Brilliant start, and great story concept, then turned strange halfway through, and treated with a quite awful finish -- you're right. It's like the author completely rushed the ending, even going as far as failing to research what she was writing about properly.

  2. Just closed a 12-year-old chapter in my life.

Because it could land her in prison.

  3. The Coruscant Jedi Temple simulation is off, guys. Unfortunately I don't have the tools with JKA to do it. Due to limitations and bugs with the scripting system, the game falls short for purpose in this case... It's a shame. I really wanted to do this. :'(

  4. I just had the ridiculously ambitious idea of scripting NPC life into the Coruscant Jedi Temple, and creating an RPG-style live environment, capturing life in the Jedi Temple during the Clone Wars in JKA. Maybe create an inside mission out of it?

Maybe something using a Jocasta Nu and retrieving something for her from- just as an example- the Coruscant Underworld?

      Cerez

Do we have a Jocasta Nu character model for JKA? I didn't find any.

  5. The time for real JKA cutscene cinematography has arrived! Get ready for an awesome Clone Wars experience, guys. :D

I still don't get it. ICARUS can position and rotate the entities just as well, can't it? Why the need for ROFFs? Or do you mean that ROFFs can rotate and manipulate *parts* of a 3D model? I thought the actual character animations were defined in the GLA files, and so far I had no issues using simply ICARUS for scripting and animating the characters and entities.

    3. Cerez

      Cerez

Oh wait, you mean moving and rotating map objects, right?

I think bModels can include other static models-- and not just brushes. Read about it (and origin brushes) in the manuals. Post your new-found understanding.

  6. Ahsoka actually appears in the prequel films! (http://jkhub.org/topic/5588-the-ahsoka-fan-thread/?p=95999)

    1. Cerez

      Cerez

No. If anything, on the record they've officially actually denied her to be. But the fact remains that Ashla was the first concept for Ahsoka, and Lucas' recommendation for her character. Since Attack of the Clones was made before The Clone Wars, it makes sense that this would be the first incarnation of her character, and how Lucas saw her at the start (i.e. her film version).

  7. I think I'm gonna start working on a simple Clone Wars mission mod for SP -- without cinematics and dialogue for now -- just the action.

  8. Rebels emotional content value: "I'm glad you're not dead." "I'm glad you're not, too." "Let's get the show on."

Just because you write wallpages, it doesn't mean you're right.

Also if you think few quotes like that make a story mature, the Twilight trilogy as well can be utmost mature show, considering the show became darker than its first season.

Notebene; I understand you're upset over canceling few seasons of TCW, because best things always eventually come to an end. You liked the show more than rebels? Fine by be, it's your opinion.

    3. Cerez

      Cerez

Lucifer, this is my status message after all. Of course it is my opinion -- LOL! Being a fan, I am of course upset that TCW was cancelled, but what's bugging me is that I'm finding Rebels to be way beneath what I would expect from a Star Wars TV series targeted for all ages. And we have nothing else, now.

    4. minilogoguy18

      minilogoguy18

It would be stupid for them to not consider rebooting TCW since it is officially cannon and it never finished itself out to end at the Battle over Coruscant like it should have. I didn't like the beginning of the show and the pilot movie was gayer than 2 dicks touching but the final few seasons were pretty good.

  14. Trying to accomplish some more advanced scripting... Any way to set a CVAR through an ICARUS script?

    1. Tx606

      Tx606

if you mean a cvar from a server setting, you can't alter those. if you mean something to use in scripts, you can declare a float, string and a vector using declare i think, and simply use set to set it to whatever value you want

    3. Cerez

      Cerez

Thanks guys. Apparently it's not possible in retail JKA, but in OpenJK we've had a coding feature implemented into ICARUS that lets you set a CVAR for the SP game from a script. I'm testing it now...

Well, all I can say is that falling for 6 or 7 minutes into the void, with /g_gravity 800000000 and /timescale 1000000, leads to nothing. Looks like we really ARE alone in the JA universe.

I got the same issue and I'm running steam.. I think maybe there's just a bug in the 1.3 bits someplace... I can run mb2 if I launch it manually with a shortcut, but my lighting is all wonky.... o.O

    3. Cerez

      Cerez

Figured it out. A missing DLL was responsible for the crash in my case. I fixed it by creating a clean duplicate of my Jedi Academy installation directory just for MBII. Then by shuffling the DLLs I was able to find which DLL was responsible for the crash. It was jampgame.x86.dll missing from GameData (in my installation it was in base). MBII really needs a clean JKA install for it to work properly.

    4. Cerez

      Cerez

Doesn't fix the client mismatch error, though. I think that's a programming issue between the client and server versions of MBII.

Hahaha, thanks, but I'm mostly just glad that it worked out in the end. I know it's not perfect, and it'll never be, but at least it's worthy of representing Ahsoka's character in this game, and now I can finally continue modding for JKA.
