  1. Wow, I know you've been working on this mod for years and it definitely shows! Incredible work. These images look like a completely different game made by a AAA studio.
  2. You can find all of Jeff's models in this Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jw4a026brkhniwv/AACHXP1R1vWv8QM_Drp-aF3pa?dl=0 Quarren is in there.
  3. Remove the zZz from the PK3 names and add B's instead so they are loaded first rather than last and anything alphabetically after will override them. Or you can simply edit the pk3 files directly to remove things you don't want.
  4. You can use an image host like this: https://postimages.org/ Then post the link it gives you.
  5. You need to put the jaenhanced folder in the GameData folder like the instructions say. Most likely you put the whole folder in your Jedi Academy folder instead. jaenhanced folder and the files go in GameData. The result should be something like C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Academy\Gamedata\JAEnhanced\ C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Academy\Gamedata\jaenhanced.x86.exe
  6. It was a very close call between me and @MagSul despite so few votes overall, but Mag pulled ahead and is declared the WINNER OF THE HOLIDAY MOD CONTEST 2022! His mod Kyle's Holiday Afternoon is a charming little mod that I personally voted for, so I'm glad to see it win! Seeing Kyle in a Christmas Sweater getting pummeled by snowballs is something everyone needed, for sure. Congrats and well done to the other contestants! Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season, and welcome to 2023! Jedi Academy turns 20 this year, so we have some exciting things planned!
  7. The poll is open! Go vote here! The WINNER is MAGSUL! See edited post above or check out the poll here.
  8. We get 4 entries this year for the Holiday Mod Contest, which is a solid number! I personally have entered a mod this year, so of course we are leaving the voting to you people! Which one do you think is best? https://jkhub.org/tags/holiday contest 2022/ CHRISTMAS PLAZA by Circa KYLE'S HOLIDAY AFTERNOON by MagSul IMPERIAL CHRISTMAS BASTION by Kessno FIREWORKS & SNOWBALLS by Ramikad

This is a new version of my Naboo Plaza map but now completely decked out for Christmas! Complete with trees, lights, snow, and a very devious snowman. There is a day and a night (eve) version. I had this planned years ago when I made Naboo Plaza, but I didn't even get to finish that map in it's original form so I never got around to doing this, but I figured it would be fun to do for the JKHub contest. This is a very small map, best for small groups in FFA, for dueling on the platform, or if you grab the snowball thermal detonator replacement mod, you can have a really fun snowball fight! Links below. You can activate the duel platform with the switch on the balcony that faces that main entrance. It toggles, so you can restore the fountain and tree when you're done with the platform. There's also a little secret. The snowman is not all as he seems... would be a shame if you destroyed him... -===================- Night map: /map christmas_plaza_eve Day map: /map christmas_plaza_day -===================- -!|!- LINKS -!|!- -===================- Video showing the map and the secret: Snowball thermal detonators: https://jkhub.org/files/file/3924-snowball-mod/ Other Christmas and holiday mods to check out: https://jkhub.org/tags/holiday Original Naboo Plaza map: https://jkhub.org/files/file/3399-naboo-plaza/ -================- -!|!- NOTE -!|!- -================- I don't consider this map truly in a finished state. The brushwork is still very barebones but I ran out of time to get this out by Christmas, so I call it good enough. I hope to revisit it and polish it up and maybe even make a longer ladder level out of the snowman secret. -======================- -!|!- KNOWN BUGS -!|!- -======================- Snow brushes are a bit blocky and you can get caught on them as you run over them, but nothing major. The ice in the fountain raises slower than the fountain when returning. Snow falls inside the igloo and under roofs You may not be able to run this on vanilla JKA (jamp) due to my 2K texture but I honestly didn't check. Use OpenJK, y'all. -====================- -!|!- CREDITS -!|!- -====================- Rooxon for the Christmas tree model he made for me so long ago Artemis for her Snowman model that she made for our clan events but never released officially, sadly, and also credit to her Christmas light shader in her FFA3 Xmas map, I totally copied it Main music track is Christmas Tree by SoulProdMusic Secret snowman track is Carol of the Bells by August Burns Red -========================- -!|!- INSTALLATION -!|!- -========================- Put the pk3 in the base folder of your Jedi Academy GameData directory (Jedi Academy/Gamedata/base)
  12. Also make sure your base path is correct. It doesn't have to be the game's base folder, but the folder that the models/players/_humanoid/ folder and your model's folder are in need to be in a folder called "base" and can be anywhere on your drive like the Desktop, and make sure to put that path in the Import window on the right side.
  13. Snow is a real substance in the real world, not just Hoth. Perhaps you don’t have any where you live but this time of year we get snow in the northern hemisphere. This season also has a lot of holidays around the world. JKHub is run by westerners, we celebrate Christmas. This temporary theme is to celebrate the Christmas theme. It’s supposed to be a happy and cheerful theme to celebrate the season.

  15. Everyone been nice, with a pinch of naughty this year? It's been quite awhile since we've done a end of year holiday or Christmas event around here, mostly due to lack of activity. We used to do Secret Santa events but that requires a lot of participants and many great mods made for them don't end up getting released, so we don't really do that anymore. But since Christmas is my personal favorite holiday and season, we're going for it. I figured we can keep the mod contest train going, and take a stop through Christmas town! Of course this isn't discriminatory against any end-of-the-year holidays, this can include Christmas, New Years, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, St. Lucy, Las Posadas, St. Nicholas, Omisoka, Boxing Day, and any others that I forgot. If your culture celebrates it in December-ish, it qualifies. Rules: All submissions must be Christmas or other end-of-year holiday themed (Santa, gifts, snow, reindeer, menorahs, dreidels, kinaras, evergreen trees with lights, etc.) You can only enter your own creations. You may enter more than one mod. Already existing files cannot be submitted. The goal is to encourage new creations! Any mod content is welcome, including skins, models, maps, weapons, menu mods, etc. Just make sure it abides by the rules. Mods can be for Jedi Academy and/or Jedi Outcast. We will assume mods are for JKA unless specified otherwise. The deadline for submitting content is December 28, 2022, after which a poll will be opened. The poll will be closed by the end of day January 1st, 2023. Need inspiration? You can view the many Holiday related mods that have been tagged at the link here. For other inspiration take a look at the holiday events that some big live service games put on like Call of Duty (Krampus event in Vanguard/Warzone last year was big), Fortnite, etc. How do I submit my mod? Our goal is to make it as simple as possible for everyone involved. The way you submit your file for this contest is to upload them as normal files in our file section, but using the category called Contest Entries. After the contest is over, we will move the mods to their respective categories. Click the button below, and submit your mod as you normally would. The category should be set to Contest Entries already. If you don't enter it there, your file won't be entered until you do. If you realize that you didn't do that, PM a staff member and we can change it for you. Good luck and happy festive season! 17. I think it just depends on the "something new" that is attempted or the "something old" that is taken away. For the sequels, the something new was a combination of characters and inconsistent writing, while the old was old characters and retelling of some specific story beats. I think pretty much anyone can agree that the lack of direction hindered those films more than anything. I think some of the new stuff could have worked really well. The first half of TFA is actually extremely well done and intriguing with the (mostly) new characters and plot moving the story along. As soon as Han and Chewie show up, it goes downhill really fast. Not because of them in particular, but because of the pacing and handling of the old characters and the reliance on another super weapon. TLJ's new things were the constant comedic lines and scenes combined with the need to subvert expectations just for the sake of it. Then of course TROS's new things were really just a combination of all of the previous two films, but with Palpatine being the old character to shoehorn in, and the need to try to compete with Avenger's Endgame's ending, the nonsensical mcguffin plot, etc. Just to name a few. The new things were detrimental to making a good film in general, not necessarily making a good Star Wars film. However when you attach an Episode number to a Star Wars film and say it's part of the same saga, there a lot more expectations to how those films should be. In tone, theme, dialogue style, looks, etc. They didn't get those things right consistently, especially as the trilogy went on. But with Rogue One, they nailed all of that stuff, but tried a little bit of something new with making it more of a war film, focusing on how the underdog gains the upper hand that we see play out in the first SW film. It was a bit more gritty, took itself seriously (but not too seriously) and delivered a great prequel story. With Solo, I think it succeeded in it's mission as well. The new thing it tried was recasting a beloved character, which can be hard for some people to accept but I think overall was done well. I love Alden's Han Solo and definitely see both characters as one at this point. I do think they tried to make it kind of like a heist movie but it may have failed at that, but it was a great Star Wars story to tell nonetheless. Not perfect, but it's always a fun watch. Mandalorian is one of the examples where they have really tried to keep it as confined to what the creators believe Star Wars is and should be, and though they've done that well and has been accepted by most people to be good, it is also hindered by that outlook. The "adventure of the week" storytelling just gets really old, to the point where people just kinda tune out until there's the big finale where things that matter actually happen. I love Mando, but I can't stand the way it is structured. Especially with how short the episodes are, tuning in weekly when a season is airing isn't all that exciting. It's fun to binge it because the subpar episodes can quickly overshadowed within the hour. I think Andor's structure and storytelling is phenomenal and should be how all major narrative-focused TV series should be done. I don't mean the genre necessarily. I am okay with variety of genres in Star Wars. But the attention to detail for every episode that builds upon the last one to reach the end of the story in one cohesive narrative is what I want. No filler episodes, or "side quests" as they've been labeled for Mando, unless it ends up being actually part of the natural plotline. I'm a little worried that Mando season 3 and even Ahsoka are going to lean heavily into the other direction. It sounds like the Acolyte might be a happy medium between the two styles, which I'm okay with. That one is being labeled as a "mystery thriller" so that sounds like a really intriguing genre to explore as well.
  18. Agreed on all your points there. My opinions did not change on it either. I think it's by far the best Star Wars we've gotten since the Disney acquisition, even better than Rogue One. I typically prefer my Star Wars focused on Jedi and Sith stories in general, however another big genre I love is the spy thriller genre, and Andor hits the nail on the head with that. It keeps the build slow but steady throughout, with each small arc being directly related and impactful toward the end goal. Every episode matters and is a huge puzzle piece (something the other SW shows do not do well) and the payoff at the end was just so worth it. No big cameos, no crazy galaxy-ending events, just the culmination of Andor and Mothma's journey from where we see them in episode 1, to the end. The writing was just masterful at every step. I've been wanting a show like this in Star Wars for so long. I like the other shows fine, but this has set a new standard that I hope Lucasfilm measures themselves to going forward, rather than trying to cater to kids and casuals so much. Andor proves you don't need that to make good Star Wars that people love.
  19. You'd actually change cape,models/players/marajade/cape.jpg to just cape,*off and it deactivates the entire mesh of the cape.
  20. Omega made a similar model recently here: https://jkhub.org/forums/topic/11056-omega-skincare-workshop/?do=findComment&comment=162970

This is the AT-AT or ATAT walker vehicle as seen in Empire Strikes Back. The model, textures, and animations were made by Duncan_10158 and all credit goes to him. The original mod seems to have been lost to time, and all we had was an odd clan reskin of it or it was included in larger mods like KOTF. I restored the original textures while keeping Sakura's improvements to the stats. Spawn with the below command: /npc spawn vehicle atat
  22. Looks great. Submit it to the files section!
  23. Your screenshots show your folders aren’t set up the way I listed in my above post. You have 2 extra folders that aren’t needed, the jaenhanced folder goes directly in gamedata. Do not use the “Windows” or “Windows 32bit” folders.
  24. That means it can't find the assets. Default.cfg is found in assets2.pk3. Make sure the base folder with the asset files is in the GameData folder as well. Folder structure should be like below. Blue are folders, red are files. Jedi Academy GameData base assets0.pk3 assets1.pk3 assets2.pk3 assets3.pk3 jaenhanced zZz_jaenhanced.pk3 jaenhanced.x86.exe
