  1. Just because it's not accurate doesn't mean it's awful. That's a bit harsh. (actually, really harsh). It's still a well-made hilt, especially for not having any reference images at the time of it's creation.
  2. Guys, you're acting like optimizing models is unheard of. Most of the models that you love and adore that people have made over the years abide by these restrictions. It's an old game. You simply shouldn't make models 99999 verts and polys, or else the game will work too hard. We're talking FPS drops, and potentially crashes. This has happened with models that aren't optimized. You can still have a great looking model and it be perfectly optimized. look at any of @@AshuraDX's models or @@DT85's models. Great examples. If you want modern quality models and graphics, you are playing the wrong game.

  4. Yep, I'll probably release them all separately as .csh files for people to use in Photoshop and I can include that. How big would you want them? Could do 2048x2048 so you can scale down if needed.
  5. It would be best to wait until the digital release of the film, to ensure high quality sounds. A bootlegged version will be crappy compared to the source.

  7. You're missing a ton of steps. That's why it's not working. Follow this tutorial: http://jkhub.org/tutorials/article/34-how-to-make-a-singleplayer-species-with-variants/ One thing you did wrong though, playerchoice.txt was not in the dw_maul folder. Make sure to fix that. But the tutorial tells you all the steps needed. Once you get the steps down, it's super simple.

    Base gives you all the control you need. What are you wanting to do exactly? Are you planning on competing in ESL? I thought ESL was pretty much dead. Yeah base got hacked pretty bad for awhile. Most of the simple exploits were able to be fixed in OpenJK. However there are still threats that can't be fixed in the code itself, they are fixed server side. Those are threats to any mod, even JA++. You'd need some server-side fixes to prevent those completely. Right now @@Caelum provides the best server hosting for JKA servers, as he provides automatic OpenJK installation, and top-notch protection against those attacks. But really, you shouldn't have too much issue with attacks. Our server hasn't been attacked successfully in over a year and we use NFOserver hosting I believe. But we also have some server-side fixes I think.

    You may get more success using JA++ but I recommend not using it. We need more base clans. I think my clan is one of the last remaining base clans, excluding teams. Definitely use OpenJK. It provides various bug and exploit fixes that you'll want.

  15. Quality is pretty bad (not your fault, I would assume). You should just get the track from the soundtrack to make your loop, since the track you found is the exact same (just confirmed with my own copy). The idea of looping it is cool though, nice.
  16. Definitely keep the original model for yourself. It looks really nice, and is a good piece of digital art!
  17. I think it'll be completely original, aside from stealing the Death Star plans. There may even be a Vader cameo.

  19. I'm glad you posted all that on here. I saw I had 10 notifications from my phone, was too curious to not look. Then realized i'd lose it all once I closed it. I'll explain all these points, but don't take it as defending myself, I'll make the changes. - repeater and DEMP2 look completely different to me, one has a funnel at the end - agreed, trip mine and detpack need more detail, though I'm still not sure how to do it that would make a difference at small sizes - I actually made a rocket icon initially, but then thought that maybe the gun would be better; i'll swap them - I honestly couldn't think of any other way to show lava...not intuitively anyway; same with acid, though ensi called it "slime" so I used a blob, which is kinda placeholder - I figured those were pretty self explanatory, honestly. The only one I don't like is telefragged, because I can't think of a good way to show that. The one with the object falling, is object falling, and the one of someone falling....is falling to death. - Open hand is force. ensiform said there's no way to differentiate between all force powers, so I made one. I was kinda proud of it too Closed hand is melee... - agreed, conc_alt should probably be crosshair - thought about the alt fire for disruptor, just not sure how i'd illustrate being disintegrated. Could just give it a crosshair but it wouldn't really make much sense So yeah, I agree some points. Others not as much. I think there's a limit to how detailed you should be with icons like this. Obviously I want to make it clear what each thing is, but some of them will just need to be interpreted and learned by users. I was playing COD:BOIII last night and payed close to attention to their icons. They're pretty simple, and you learn what certain things mean over time. Kinda my approach. But I understand those that want lots of detail.
  20. Was just thinking that we got a teaser trailer for TFA over a year before it released. We haven't had anything for Rogue One yet, have we? I don't imagine they'll release anything until later, to not hinder the success of the TFA's release. With that said though, this film won't do as well by default, because it's releasing only a year after the last movie. TFA is still going to have the limelight at least until 2017.

  22. Another update. How are these alt attack icons? I only made ones that I thought were worth differentiating: flechette, repeater, concussion, and rocket launcher. Am I missing one?
  23. Actually maybe its not. I can't replicate the issue. Maybe I just suspected it to be the issue. I can't remember what caused it for me... You'll need to use the process of elimination to figure out what's causing it. Might be a map.
  24. What mods do you have installed? If you have my jk2 restoration, that might be causing it.
