Looks like that's the new JoF map that @@Aldro Koon and @@Milamber were having issues with?

Well the error isn't Mac-specific, so we can rule that out. You may just have too many maps? I can't remember what that error means. @@eezstreet?

How many pk3's do you have in your base?

I don't think this was ever resolved. No Mac build since ~March work correctly. They just crash at launch. I thought it might be because I need to update my SDL. So I did. Now all builds crash. So I went back to SDL 2.0.3 and my old build from March 22. And all is well again. I poked @@redsaurus about it and I think he's looking into the SDL issue, but it would be nice if the recent builds were functional. It's important for OpenJK for Mac to work because we can't join servers without either OpenJK or JKJALaunch, and I always try to recommend OpenJK whenever I can.

Back for a bit...Gonna make some awesome models for you

There's a pack with a punch of KOTOR models on ModDB. Can't post a link. -
Back for a bit...Gonna make some awesome models for you
Circa replied to CrimsonStrife's topic in WIPs, Teasers & Releases
Agreed ^ Modeling is an art-form. Art is subjective. Everyone will have their opinions. But in the case of a video game, its important to get the models as close to the source as possible, even in an old game like JKA. We've seen it done many times, so when a model isn't quite up to par with those, it's hard to just accept a subpar model. I think the Revan model we have is good as well. I think the issue people have is, the cape makes it look odd because JKA doesn't have cloth dynamics and the cape may be slightly too wide compared to the KOTOR model. The other issue is, people want a 1:1 remake of the KOTOR model so they can use it legally. But if you care that much, just use the port. -
Do you have any mods installed?

Upload at your own risk. You're not selling the music, so you should be fine. Just be sure to state that you don't own the rights or didn't create the song in any way. You should be fine.

Like Futuza said, you're better off doing it by hand. It's extremely simple. The Basics of NPC Files

Someone should write a tutorial on how to set up a server and list all the remaining server providers.

Knights of the force expansion mod crashes on start up

One FileFront it was. But their staff banned anything and anyone that looked at them funny. -
Frustrating problem with a 99% complete map (HELP)

Hm. I've never run into this issue before. So I can't be much help. But I can point some people here that may be able to. @@Ramikad @@MaceMadunusus @@DT85 Wow, this made my suspicions of the scarcity of mappers kinda true. Knights of the force expansion mod crashes on start up
Circa replied to Jka123's topic in Jedi Knight Tech Support
Almost all of those models can be found here on JKHub. Here's a list for all the main good ones. Go-to JKA Mods As far as KOTF goes, it really was just an easy way to spawn things. It was a cool idea, just done in a wrong way. Hopefully if the Star Wars Saga mod gets anywhere, people will prefer that over KOTF, where you can actually play missions from the movies, rather than just have maps to spawn things in. You can already do all that. -
Jedi Academy: Enhanced link isn't working
Circa replied to gamerdude42's topic in Jedi Knight Tech Support
That's why I always recommended staff to download all remote images and upload manually, to avoid weird issues like that, and to avoid the chance of the images being deleted. -
Wrong section, by the way. Most of the models found in MBII and MDII are available as separate downloads already. Especially the main characters. I made a list of the main characters and their links here, under the first section: http://darkempireofthesith.com/forum/index.php?topic=49.0

Further brainstorming: assign guns a handful of classes (pistol, rifle, shotgun, heavy, etc) so you can have preset functions, similar to NPC classes and .saber files. Or similar to what is already in weapons.dat, but with classes you can assign to new entries, in .gun files or something. But yeah, sounds crazy complicated. Nice, but maybe too much.

Open World RPG ''like'' Star Wars Game
Circa replied to Mand'alor's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
My hope is that Bethesda will be brought on to make a Star Wars RPG someday. -
And would require a specific build of OpenJK for a specific weapon. A mod could just have the right config or .dat and be compatible with OpenJK out of the box, along with other weapons. I'm assuming this would be for SP though? Not sure how it would work with MP.

Eitani's Top 5 Personal Complaints of JA
Circa replied to eiTani's topic in Jedi Knight General Discussions
Right, but they still learn the basics of the game. Most of it afterwards is practice. If a player that learned the game through a "master-padawan" relationship or training school, they'd only get so far, and some are content with staying at that skill level. Like me. The only way to get better is to practice and learn from those that are better. And those people would mostly be the various TFFA pros and/or ex-ESL players that are still around. -
