    I've been wanting to play Black Mesa since it was released... Just now I found out that it isn't a mod for HL2 after all, and is a standalone freeware......

      They also cut a good chunk of the "surface tension" chapter unfortunately. There's a separate remake mod that restores that. But even without xen and the separate mod, BMS is really REALLY good.
