  1. If you're using openJK then there should be a folder in /Documents/My Games/ If not, then you're not using OpenJK. For the above, it looks like those models are using the lowest LOD. Make sure your Model quality setting is turned to High. (Can't remember the actual name of the setting atm) If they are the only hilts that have that problem, then it's how the saber pack you have installed is making them appear to be. Luke's saber isn't available in MP by default.
  2. You need to use an image hosting service such as Imgur.com and then use the link it provides.
  3. Well we had begun work on an even bigger project, that would include missions spanning the battles and situations outside of just the duels from the entire saga. It's a huge project though, and not many people were interested in helping out. tbh, making duels happen in this game isn't all that hard. And frankly kinda boring to play compared to other things you could recreate from the films. But you would need to learn mapping and ICARUS scripting to pull it off properly.
  4. Welcome! It depends on the question. If it's related to modifying Movie Duels 2, post in the Modding Assistance forum. If it's just a general question about the mod, post in either Jedi Knight General Discussion or General Modding Discussion. MD2 is an old mod released years ago, so there's no special forum for the development of it or anything like that. I assume that was your curiosity, anyway.
  5. Made a quick image showing the hilts with their names, added to the original post. I remember I used the Praetor hilt when I first played the game, because I thought it looked the most like a saber that would be seen in the films. I used blue for that; I thought it looked best with blue. It's way too big of a model though, as stated above. It's huge. My second playthrough, I used Firebrand with a green blade. I think those two are my favorite, followed by Sentinel. And even though Luke's hilt in JKA looks like a blocky plastic toy version of the real one, I like it as a hilt on it's own. I used that for some playthroughs after I learned how to do cheats and mods. I think Luke's saber with an orange blade looks really cool. For staff hilts, Vindicator. I'm not really a fan of any of them, though.
  6. I think most people will agree that the saber hilts in Jedi Academy are somewhat lacking in both style and realism (they look like they are made of plastic, in my opinion). However, when you first installed the game, at least one of the hilts must have been attractive enough for you to choose it as your weapon of choice. Your choices could depend on MP or SP, so feel free to explain your answers. This poll has two questions, single sabers and staff sabers. I also included Kyle, Luke, Desann, and Reborn hilts, and the ability to choose 2 for those of you that duel wield, to the singles question.
  7. OpenJK will create a crashlog.txt file in the OpenJK folder. Find that and see what the error is, probably located at the very bottom.
  8. Putting all nostalgia aside, Rogue One. Though yes, the character development in a series of 5 games compared to one film is going to surpass the latter, I still prefer it over the games.
  9. Please tell me you're joking right now... That feature has been built into Windows since XP.
  10. You know you can create ZIP files with just Windows, right? You just right click on the folder and go to Send To > Compressed folder.
  11. TFU and TFU are bad in terms of story and concept. Too powerful, you start out as a villain but not for long, the story was just silly. Especially TFU2. They were really grasping at straws there. The gameplay was fun though, I will admit. JKA story is even worse, but the gameplay is fun and MP holds it together. Obi-Wan for Xbox is pretty bad. Obi-Wan is my favorite character but that game couldn't keep me engaged in it enough to play past the first few levels. There was a Clone Wars game for original Xbox as well, where you played basically just the Battle of Geonosis and stuff from EP2. I remember playing as Mace Windu and sabering Geonosians and droids. But I think it was pretty bad. I didn't play much of it.
  12. Actually I think its your compression software. All of your files have a weird issue. I always have to repack zip files. Only certain software can open them. Should be fixed now, @TechShaman, try again.
  13. I was thinking more of like a Modview sort of system. You just click inside the box and move the model around how you please by clicking/dragging around.
  14. You'll have to give a lot more info than that. Does it give you an error when it crashes in the crashlog? You'll have to probably show your pk3 as well.
  15. Sounds like a lot of work, with not many capable people around these days to do it. All of what you said sounds cool, for sure, but that amount of work requires a large team of developers to accomplish properly.
  16. Do what you want. Nobody here will stop you from doing any of that stuff. You can't release it into our file section is all. You put yourself at risk, not our website.
  17. Not really sure what you said there, but I'll assume you're asking how we determine if original work was done. Porting a model is not original work. Especially with Blender, its not really that difficult to do. Think of it as taking a sculpture that is needs a stand or a base in order to stand up on display, removing the old stand and putting on a stand from another sculpture. Neither sculptures were yours. You did the work of removing and installing the stands but no part of it is yours. Think of the sculpture as the model, and the stand/base as the skeleton and format of the game. You didn't make the model, but you're taking it from one format to another, and then releasing it under your name. Even if you say its not your work but its a port, you will be at risk for the company that did make it to take legal action for using their model without their permission, and you will also fool others who don't care to look at credits or descriptions into thinking you're an amazing 3D artist, when you're not. It's a messy situation, and you won't gain much respect in a modding community by doing it, because there are extremely talented 3D artists that dedicate hours and days to creating exactly those things.
  18. Raven Software had said at one point that moving assets from JK2 to JKA (and vice versa) is fine. Keep in mind though that the amount of assets in JK2 that aren't in JKA already is very small. And yeah, if you want to port stuff like that and release it on your own, that's putting yourself at risk. But putting the whole website at risk is something we have to take into consideration. We have a fairly loose stance on ported material these days. Our rule is if your mod contains ported material, it has to contain a majority of original work, for it to be approved. Even that is putting us at risk, but a minimal one.
  19. Just because the studio isn't making money off of it anymore doesn't mean the publishers aren't either. Disney and Lucasfilm own the rights to all Star Wars titles, old and new. Doesn't matter the age. It's their brand, and they can choose to send a C&D to anyone that is using it, even if its not for profit.
  20. Yes. You need to use an image editing program to change the color of them. Though you might as well go look at the dozens of blade mods that were on JK3 files. Most of them claim to be movie-accurate. Go here and search for "blades" in the title box, and you'll see. I personally like these the best: https://jkhub.org/files/file/1839-episode-3-blades/ But saber blades look slightly different depending on the film, which is why there are so many mods for it.
  21. Agreed, I had hoped to do that in JKE. I made a personal mod years ago that disabled the turning completely, and just had them walk at a 20 degree angle (or something like that) so you could get a good look at it but didn't have to wait for it to rotate around every 30 seconds. Manually rotating would be an excellent solution, but not sure it could be possible without code changes. I could be wrong though. Not sure what the menu system is capable of.
  22. Sounds like an issue with JediMod rather than JK2MV, though I have no experience with JediMod at all. I doubt JediMod is being worked on still, so there's probably nothing that can be done for that.
