  2. I'll bump that because it's a neat topic. I've usually tinkered with Jedi Academy by using external stuff such as ReShade to enhance the graphics, would be cool to see what others have in their stock.
  3. The last one is already part of Movie Battles II.
  4. Damn nice, always good to see a take on some other type of clone/stormtrooper than usual.
  5. The female Nautolan is dope as hell. Leesha from SWTOR, correct?
  6. Awesome people have been chosen, congrats If you need me anytime, PM me.
  7. The Geonosian fighter is insane. Love it.
  8. You need to setup your own console server, separate from the game instance, like Noodle said. https://jkhub.org/topic/10030-creating-a-dedicated-server-home-run-for-windows/ - go through this tutorial and then just connect with your own server. This way client and server are separate. When you create a MP game from the menu, client is mixed with server. I can also upload the basic setup for base OpenJK server
  9. Either way, with music and audio the law is far more complicated. In case of 3D works, software, the rules are very strict. With sound files, you can get a lot of workarounds in terms of their legality. Mostly coming from the times of recorders everywhere and no internet around, with laws from these times still being active.
  10. I like how your skills' development is really visible across the entire thread. The lighting is far different from the first works now, as is the perspective, field of depth sometimes (although it's still a thing you may need improvement in), etc. Compositions are really on a new, another level. Congrats for the dedication and skill improvement, you can really see the difference.
  11. Hey, it actually works really, really well! Requires some texture modification for robes on the statue, but that's a normal thing. Thanks!
  12. I've read this - https://jkhub.org/topic/10479-best-shiny-floor-shader/ - topic, but it seems to be going towards mirror effect rather than to what I'm trying to achieve, so I've decided to make another thread. I've spent some time trying to create a shader that would allow my model to look like a golden statue; shiny, sure, even with a large "mirror effect" but certainly not just pure bathroom-mirror effect. I've used the enviro shader that goes like this: models/map_objects/pomnik_onderon/elia_neck { qer_editorimage models/map_objects/pomnik_onderon/elia_neck q3map_nolightmap { map models/map_objects/pomnik_onderon/elia_neck rgbGen vertex } { map models/map_objects/pomnik_onderon/gold_enviro blendFunc GL_DST_COLOR GL_ONE tcGen environment } } And it looks very good, just like shiny gold... as far as I don't move. Any small movement makes the light move chaotically, it looks like it's animated, but in a really wrong manner, without any logic. So, any good shader for a gold effect?
  13. Taking your Daala model into my RP definitely
  14. The material of the clothing started looking very natural, great job.
  15. As far as stuff from other franchises go, it's all the matter of taste. Modders do stuff for: - the popular demand, as they obviously want their content to be well received, - their own personal taste and preference, - for their friends. Now, it's not a case of right and wrong obviously, but more of a common taste. I guess you will find most people completely disinterested in stuff that's out of character for the game. Besides GMod, I've never seen people hyped to make their game a platform for out of character stuff. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, people can like anime characters in a Star Wars game for whatever personal reason, but let's just admit it's really not something that hits the taste of many. You bring up the example of Skyrim, but as far as I can say, these mods with stuff from other franchises is neither very popular nor expected. It's just that Skyrim has like twenty times the modding community we have for JK3. You'll find that this stuff makes the similarly small percentage of the stuff available as here, but since Skyrim has 50x as much mods, the similar small percentage is equally higher. Sure, maybe it's 2% for Jedi Academy and 5% for Skyrim, but it's still a minority. Then there's the fact that most of the games are connected to franchises also way, way smaller than Star Wars with far less you can think about. Within Star Wars, as you have said, people mostly go for the obvious and popular choices, but look at the abundance of even the most obvious characters. As giant as TES universe is, it's really small compared to Star Wars, the amount of possibilities is simply way smaller. Not to mention that everywhere you go 50% of the modders are just the beginners that stop at the basic reskins of most popular characters, their Lukes and their stormtroopers and their Reborns. It's just you don't see that at sites like NexusMods, since they have so many of them, they just don't accept this kind of stuff any longer. Another fact is that, going back to the "popular demand" part, Star Wars content fits Jedi Academy obviously. 99% of the people that like Jedi Academy like Star Wars as a universe and at least few works from Star Wars universe. Now, among literally hundreds of other franchises, you'll find only a part of them like Final Fantasy too, only a part of them like Might and Magic, and so on. I really completely wouldn't care for these Final Fantasy things, they would feel out of place for me and honestly entirely useless. I don't want to play JK3 to play as my TES guys neither. I want to play TES to play with my TES favorites. And it's just the way it is for huge amount of people. Not to mention you're honestly overestimating the game with all this talk of how it is meant to be "so much more" than star wars game and all this stuff. No, it's not, and there's a reason why it has never been the choice for people that do these 10 gigabytes projects for Skyrims. The engine can't support large maps, it can never support the areas of Oblivion size, it can never support their amount of NPCs you can drop, it can never get its AI to the level there is in those other games. It's nowhere a platform as flexible as the games that are used for these "overhauls" into other universes.
  16. It is possible to get something to be at around 50% opacity, but i've never met an option to adjust the scale of it. I have some ghost/hologram skins which use semi-transparency, but the scale of it seems uncontrollable.
  17. It's quite honestly a mismatch. When Kyle faced Darth Caedus in LotF, he had backup consisting of three Jedi and was still decisively beaten... And Kyle pretty much got rekt by Caedus, getting impaled on his lightsaber after Caedus used an airspeeder to pull Kyle into the blade. Even discounting the blatant Force superiorty of Caedus, it was pretty clear Caedus is the superior swordsman too. Caedus just moved out of the way of "lightning fast attack" of Katarn just by stepping back. Kyle being saved by the backup of the other Jedi from being swiftly defeated opening himself in a kick. Now I don't want to post the entire scene, but you get the message. Caedus >> Kyle as a duelist, completely and utterly, not to mention the Force which he used to cut him down. Kyle had 3 other Jedi at his side, and was still downed, and in fact as you can see the backup saved Kyle. And this is how Luke stands next to Caedus. Yep. He rendered him immobilized lifting a finger. And this is how Luke fights Caedus in a lightsaber fight. I figured it may be the best comparison to draw, since you have the common measuring stick of Caedus and how Kyle and Luke stack up to him. Sure, there's more to Jedi skills than that, fighting styles stacking up to one another, how their strengths and weaknesses interact, etc. but you can clearly see it's too much of a difference. It's like Yoda vs. Obi-Wan. Two completely different levels, no matter the personal differences. Luke just completely roflstomps.
  18. Hmm. You could try taking the wampa skin, retexturing it with flesh texture, and adding a glow shader similar to the one in KotOR. I can help someone with making the shader, if there's interest.
  19. .gla is inside the pk3, yep.
  20. If you can use FTP I can offer some space on my server Honestly, best to have backups of all your stuff or some personal server (even one of the many free ones) for images if you do some important stuff. Even if the host goes down, at least you can backup your image-server pretty quickly.
  21. Man, this is nothing short of perfect Epic atmosphere.
