  6. EasyGen

    With EasyGen you build up terrains and export them as Radiant source map (including alphamap and metahsaders).
     
    Bitmap import/export is also supported.

    Generally all games based on Quake3 engine (Including Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy), who need a source map(.map), an alphamap(.pcx) and a metashader script(.shader) to compile a terrain entity. (if you want to to learn more about this process read the Official Terrain Manual written by Paul Jaquays contained in the latest GTK installations)

    Installation
    Make sure to extract all files contained in the zip in the same folder.
     
    After you've extracted the zip, EasyGen folder should looks something like this:
     
    EasyGen\modifiers\*.* - modifiers
    EasyGen\templates\*.* - various files (*.shader, *.cfg)
    EasyGen\save\ - saved terrains (*.egn)
    EasyGen\tutorial\*.* - tutorial stuff (old but sufficient)
    EasyGen\EasyGen.exe - executable
    EasyGen\btnexgenipl32.dll - a dll
    EasyGen\readme.txt - this readme.txt
     
    EasyGen will not run if 'btnexgenipl32.dll' is not in the same folder.
     
    Also EasyGen needs to know your work mod folder under <your_game> root folder (ie baseq3\, missionpack\, main\ etc etc), you will be prompted to browse for that asa you start EasyGen. I repeat for the last time, you need to browse for a MOD folder, not for the <your_game> root folder.
     
    Features
    Terrain shape manipulation through several modifiers (Hill,Cone etc etc).
    Program your own modifiers with an easy asm like language. Read 'custom_modifier.txt' to learn more.
    Direct export source map plus alphamap and metashader script.
    Alphamap import/export.
    Bitmap import/export.
    Models (md3) are loaded automatically from <your_game>/<your_mod>/models/ directory.
    Import brushes from a map file. Brushes are only used as space references to aid positiong the terrain entity. Bruhses manipulation is not supported by EasyGen and BRUSHES are NOT exported toghether with the terrain. Only the TERRAIN ENTITY itself is exported and the models you have inserted.
    Terrain import from a map file (and related alphamap and metashader). This should work in the most of the cases.
    To exclude triangles from export: - select MODIFIER TAB. - click the pink triangle button on the toolbar (the one with the red cross) - SHIFT+LEFTCLK on a triangle
    Upgrading shader templates (templates/*.*) is useful if the author of the compiler (ydnar) makes come modifications to the compiler itself (q3map2.exe). Replacing old templates with the new ones will ensure that EasyGen will export shaders hat will work with the new version of the compiler.

    This Mod can shoot blasterpistol continuously, and default fire can be used for the infinity.
    (Alt fire consumes ammunition.)
     
    Maximum ammunition increases in 999.
    One more, the stance of blasterpistol is changed, too. (Idle, ready, attack.)
     
    These two Mod files can be used separately.

    1.This is only for SP.
    It isn't applicable with MP.
    (stance mod can be used.)
     
    2.This is Mod which changes weapon performance.

  16. Pyramid Head

    A request on the forums that I took up as a first attempt at playermodelling. I think it came out alright, though it gave me some hard times. Many thanks to Lightsource for his making all the textures and the bonus wallpaper included, as well as some tips with weighing.
     
    Despite taking so long due to my general slowness and incompetence, I think it's a fair first attempt. I'd like to apologise to the forum-goers who were interested for taking so long and to Lightsource who put up with me. There is a slight clipping issue with the game versions helmet to the shoulder, and his waist has some pokey deformations. As of this versions the shoulders also have seams.
     
    Includes bot support, team skins, custom sounds, npcs and new weapons. The weapons are quite powerful for the npc, but will slow you down and can be hard to use. Especially the spear, which has a small blade. The NPCs I couldn't get to stop jumping, but they should make for a good challenge either way. They are:

  19. The Ladder: Dragon Remix

    Basically this is SP skin/weapon modification, the 'hidden' sword styles and The Ladder level, which is a great way to test your swordsmanship. The Skins of Kyle, Luke and all the Reborn/Dark Jedi have been altered in several ways.
     
    First I was just going to do a skin pack for myself and my freind at the Writer's Block, dubbed 'WB: Tornament'. Then I stared throwing in dragon pictures on all of the skins and I realized that Desann would be an ultimate 'Dragon Warlord'. I figured the Ladder mod needed some spicing up, the fact that the mod seems to effect the SP game is a bonus. Seeing Dessan do a butterfly kick will make your jaw drop.
     
    Instructions:
     
    Place in your GameData/base folder. Play as normal form the begining /or/ load up the exellect Ladder level from the Savegames or the console command 'map ladder'.

    1- I've been working on this for a week: I have no idea WHY but it seems that this mod no londer works in the single-player campain. I've narrowed it down to a possible problem with the modified Kyle skin/model, since replacing them with the 'plain' Kyle works fine. Fan-made single player levels (like The Ladder) seem to work ok, so it may just be a problem with the cutscenes. I'm working on it.
     
    2- This MOD will NOT work correctly with saved games - the katana seems to be bound to the wrong bone. It works fine if you start up a map through the console, or start the game from the beginning.

    This weapon model "Green Destiny" is the sword of the legend that it appeared in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" of the movie. In fact, I made the same sword one year ago. But, the quality of that is really low. (When I watched a former model now, I thought so.) Therefore, I made a model newly again.
     
    This model was intended to be modeled after the original design endlessly.

  21. CTF Empires

    This map was designed for gameplay, by someone who has played real CTF games for
    over 3 years. I decided on an Imperial type setting, with bridges and
    Imperial hallways, somthing with a real Star Wars feel. I incorporated the
    audio from one of the defaults, but spent alot of time choosing the right
    one that fits the map best, the stormtrooper type music fits well along with
    the theme. New to this map that I've never tried before are sound effect, steam
    effects and detailed shaders. I wanted a map that didn't rely on buggy
    elevators, narrow choke points or lack of weaponry. The design was taken
    from point of view of both the offense and defense, looking at the flag
    carriers' position to the idle offense and what would best fit in as far as
    weapons placement, ammo and spawns. I am really happy with the excellent
    frame rates, the details and texturing, the layout for professional capture
    the flag and the speed bonuses of the routes.
     
    Look to encounter extremly fast jedi on this map, a compliment of ammo and
    well placed weapons for offense and defense, unique well thought out
    wallruns and wallwalks and variations of speed routes that crisscross all
    over the place giving it a real fun edge. On top of that your fps will soar
    and delight in well thought out texturing and detailing, giving it that
    Imperialistic look that only Star Wars can give.

    FM3Av4 is finally released!
    Changelog:
    *NEW SCREENS, MENUS AND VIDEO
     
    -  Music can be accessed on any map using the in game "MUSIC" menu located in the options bar. 
    -  You can access a selection of various crosshairs in the main menu after choosing a saber in profile or in the "AIMING" menu while in a game.
    -  While in a game you can access the "VIEWS" menu to adjust various aspects of the camera's position in relation to your character.
    -  A seperate config for each class can be created and saved from the "CONFIGS" menu.
    -  Some extra features can be bound to keys via the "XBINDS" menu including a 4th person view, zoom in and out, a demo recorder and hotkeys for inventory items.
    -  New title menu video.

    *NEW HUDS
    - Each faction has a specific HUD symbol.

    * MODELS
      
    -  Each model icon has been given a mark in its lower left-hand side to denote that particular model's size. The sizes range from tiny to extra large (T,S,M,L,XL). The sizes have also been divided up in such a way as to help balance certain classes.
    -  All models have had their standard annoying jumping grunt sounds removed leaving only the sound of the feet tapping the ground as they jump.

    *SHAPESHIFTERS
    -  Ancient Ones and Dark Ssges have been given the ability to shape shift having access to all models in the game (except Droideka).

    *IMPROVED WEAPONS AND MELEE
    -  Blue saber style: This style now has manual blocking on diagnol_back attacks as well as side to side auto-combos and an improved forward attack.

    -  Green saber style: This style has been altered so it no longer dominates the others. While powerful, it has far less range.
    -  Orange saber style: Side to side attacks slowed for balance
    -  White saber style: Standing kata replaced in favor of one that leaves the user less vulnerable as well as fixing an animation bug seen in all versions of FM3.
    -  Vong: Super high parry removed to better match the updated saber forms. Crouching kata replaced with the "Death Pounce".
    -  Tusken: New crouching kata.
    -  Noghri: New standing kata which fixes an animation glitch.
    -  Cursed weapons and alternate multibladed weapons available for saber users.
    -  Royal Guards only have blue with glitched styles removed.
    -  Vong staff: Damage, parry, knockback, and hitbox values have been increased and range decreased to appear more realistic to the actual appearance of the weapon. The can do a standing and crouching katas as well as walk along walls. Vong are the only class to be given mega strength able to kill almost any targets in 1 hit as well as knocking targets back an incredible distance.
    -  Tusken and Noghri weapons: Damage, parry and hitbox values have been increased as well as added standing and crouching katas.
    -  Fletchett has better looking explosions.
    -  Rockets have been better smoke trails.
    -  DEMPs primary fire is better looking.
    -  Thermal dets emit a cool looking shockwave after they explode.

    *IMPROVED BOTS
    - There are a huge variety of bots that randomize when the maps switch using the server file. They are quite a challenge even to experienced players.

    *IMPROVED DROIDEKA
    - Heallth increased to survive 1 saber throw. Shields set only to 100 because of thier hard coded , fast auto-regen.

  23. Devolution

    Close quarters lightsaber combat between a secret lab in the past and the present. I intended this map to have a narrative sense to it, as if it were a location where a gripping story was taking place. Hopefully players will see it the same way and enjoy being being immersed in the awful events at the laboratory.
     
    This map is a a polygon complicated work that was really meant as a showcase for the 2005 Map-Review JA Geometry Challenge. If you are dissatisfied with the texture choices, pleae remember I did my best to pretty up this map within the 10 texture limit of the challenge. Be warned, slower machines will have a hard time running this map at a decent framerate!
     
    The map is a tight space in which to duel- good luck! For a quick escape, explore the ominous glowing portal contraption. Bot support is provided.
