  1. @@Omicron, we'll see. If it really is as awful as you guys are saying and literally burns our eyes, I'm sure we'll change it. But we'll let the votes speak for themselves for now.
  2. Silly gooses. We can change the bad skybox, and make it more high-res
  3. Classes cancelled! -30 degrees (windchill)!

Washington State? I used to live there. Nice place, but all you get is rain. You'll come to love it though :P Have fun! Yeah. Me and Circa, roughin' it up here in the mid-west. With our -40 windchills and sunny days. :P

I was born in Seattle. Only lived there for a year after that though so I obviously don't have any memory of it. I would love to live there though, I love rain.

And yeah, midwest weather is drunk. :P

      Hehe...no school again!

  4. Oh sorry, I misunderstood. I mean, either way, there is gonna be some propietery elements in any map, so "selling or buying" the map will be definitively shady, however. It's up to you, but JKHub can't be responsible for legal problems that arise. I recommend that you continue any business opportunities via PM when you get some one interested.
  5. Wouldn't you still be technically be selling the JA skeleton, which is illegal?
  6. Wow! Great job @@Circa! It looks much crisper and is much more akin to the source material. Maybe add some "HUD" to the binocular screen itself? See how there is a "bevel" in both JOs and in EP I's? Almost like a rounded rectangle that adds more visual interest. Could make it look a bit more interesting. Good work!
  7. My brothers of six, we have regained our rightful throne!
  8. 6 summarizes most of our modding dreams: broken wrecks which we salvage from later to make even better mods.
  9. I think the anger script is definitely overriding all your other scripting, because of the FLUSH command. Just to clarify, adding another task with all the commands of the second script (the anger one) and then running that task after "go2" didn't work? I've had lots of trouble with NPCs and their stubbornness - they can be tricky!
  10. To make it solid, you have to recreate the model's geometry with brushes. When I've done it, it's been rough, but that's ok. You just want to get a rough outline of the model and texture those brushes with the clip texture or the physics clip texture, found in the system folder.
  11. I always have trouble getting npcs to move when they are not in BS_CINEMATIC. I would have them spawn in cinematic mode, move, and then return to BS_DEFAULT. And having a task for wait shouldn't be necessary. Make the anger script into a task and have it run when the moves have been made. Tell me if that works...
  12. Yes. Make your model a misc_model, position it in real-time, and then change the classname to misc_model_static. It will then change to a red box, but it will appear in game, just where you placed it.
  13. @@Langerd: Make sure you are using model_static. While the model isn't solid, and you'll have to manually draw in the clip brushes to make it so, it should light correctly.
  14. Protip: When making huge elaborate space scenes, move the CAMERA, not the ships themselves. Oh my gosh, it saved me so much time :D

  15. Sounds pretty neat, if you get some skinners interested! And you can add polls to your topics without us, I think...
  16. Just a quick question. I love the high-res version, but does it have too many polys? Is that why you are making two versions?
  17. @@ChalklYne - That actually looks really cool! A very unique model!
  18. Alright, it sounds good. It can be a bit deafening at some points though. Maybe using different bird sets for each tree so it doesn't seem so repetitive/unnatural?
  19. Definitely, @@Circa. We'd write our reviews in the comments section. We're not gonna get any special privelages. But, if the author chooses, they can tack the review on to their description. I've seen that done a couple times.
  20. We're not (at least I'm not) suggesting that a file has to be reviewed before It gets uploaded. It's just an extra we'd tack on later. And since it'll be made of users, the staff won't get burnt-out, unless they decide to participate extensively. So, in essence, it's just a group of people who love to review mods. That's it. It's up to the author if they want to tack it on to their description. It's not anything essential, just a commitment to quality reviews.
  21. That's certainly true, but in-depth reviews just aren't being written. And sure: would there be a bias? Yep. Do all members here have a bias? Absolutely. And, it's not like this group we're proposing would replace all the user-reviews, nothing at all like that. It's just a group of members who are committing to review files in an orderly, thought out way.
