  1. @ It would be a very foolish move on their side. The appearance of Plaguies in Episode VII (or even in IX) would diminish both the OT and the prequels. I doubt Palpatine would not see to that anyways - he managed to destroy not just the Jedi Order and the Republic, but countless cultures, worlds, even nations. I feel that Episode VII would be an illustration, that the 20 years of the Empire had its own impact on the Galaxy: you can no longer see prosperous worlds, untouched by Galactic affairs, and for the most part the previously known ideas and mechanisms no longer function or even exist. I perceive the concept above differently. =))) it's unclear what we actually see there, but I can draw a picture of what I see there. ) Not a Muun. =))) It's doubtful, that Episode VII would deal with anything from the Prequels. I can also say, that it was mentioned at least once, that the new trilogy would exist as if most people have forgotten the days of the Old Republic or the Clone Wars - for them it was so long ago, that they not longer deem them to be of any importance. It is also said, that VII would be tied in to the Rebels, which deals with one of the Inquisitors... Max Von Sydow is said to play that veteran, which is not just a guy with a pistol. But actually he is a wise adviser, who who tell the new characters a bit of the past, but not of Sith-Jedi secrets. He is more of a bounty hunter or a soldier, with experience in that... I imagine someone like Canderous Ordo from KOTOR, or Zaeed Massani from Mass Effect 2.
  2. @@Kualan I have lots of materials (mostly pictures) made for our mod, and also a lot of texts, script and other material related to the project. Besides that I have a folder with my sketches on Star Wars, as well as an album with my comics and kind of encyclopedia with articles on characters, planets and other things. Some of these made it into DP and into Tales from the Clone Wars. =) Btw do you have sketches for the issues? Surely you could have made some notes much later with more experience instead of drawings, but I would like to see them, if there are any.
  3. I don't think they would add Plaguies here. It's too much. The idea of such a circle looks strange. max Von Sydow is believed to play a war veteran, whose concept was "leaked" previously.
  4. Another little pack of released or leaked concept art. This one includes What if we see one very certain planet from KOTOR also mentioned in Episode IV?
  5. I would really like to read a "Behind the scene" story. I mean, that you can tell us, how you came with the idea of making your own CW plot, what drove you into adding new planets, characters and yet in general follow the canon stories as well (though not always). What was difficult to make and what was the most favourite part in the process. For instance, what did you use for space battles, etc.
  6. @ I read, that they wanted the new film with "no New Republic ever existed". I hardly imagine that, and I am now positive, that that was wrong. The latest rumour says, that the new state was formed, while the Empire also exists elsewhere. The difference is that it is never called the New Republic, but simply the Republic. Not that bad.
  7. It looks like the Inquisitor is bowing before Vader.
  8. @@DT85 I agree on the plot lines. I also voiced an opinion, that there is an evil guy, who is impersonating Luke (even if he were not his clone). Seeing Warwick Davis is good, though I doubt he will play an ewok. There is a different character played by him - in Episode I, Watto's friend. I am eager to know, what would be the core idea in the next three episodes... In the OT it was the main philosophy, struggle against Emperor and Dark Side as well as philosophical ideas. In the prequels it was the fall of the Republic and Anakin, which would end in only one way we'd already known at the time. But here? For all reasons after great events usually the time of nothing special comes and for another decade or even more
  9. @ Actually the Sith and the mechanical guy - are two separate characters. The Sith (of more likely an Inquisitor, who survived the Galactic Civil War) has his plans. The guy with mecho-eye and arm, as well as legs - is indeed a veteran, as you say. There are two more evil characters (and perhaps even more). The one is a female elite stormtrooper, as we said before. I think, she will change sides in Episode VII (some things say in favour of this theory). The other one is an Imperial aristocrat. I have a feeling that:
  10. @zeƒilus We've always made spoiler sections, and it's relevant now, because we are getting closer to film release. So we have to hide such things. =) Four more pictures, which were dropped out in the link prior (characters).
  11. @ Don't forget to use a "spoiler" code to hide the pictures from those, who don't want to see too much of Episode VII, but are eager to discuss. =)
  12. Just recently they've released tons of concept art for Episode VII. You can see all the pictures here: http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2014/10/massive-amount-of-episode-vii-concept.html I must say, that they do prove a lot of latest rumours. Including: Having seen all of these I feel very positive about Episode VII. There are other news as well. =)
  13. @ There was at least one news on this one. The other one is here.
  14. I don't like the idea of Mace Windu added to Episode VII as a surviving Jedi. this would definitely minimize the role of other characters in OT - like Yoda and Obi Wan. For me the phrase of the old master, that Luke would be the last of the Jedi after Yoda is gone, meant, that the Empire did indeed destroy all the Jedi. Surely Dark Forces II shows Rahn survived, and TFU and other stories say otherwise... But Mace Windu as a hologram is totally okey. I doubt we will see the Jedi Academy like it was in the books, but perhaps the main characters would revisit some old abandoned place from the pre-Clone Wars era. As for Qui Gon Jinn - it was a suprize for me back in 1999 that it was a different character other than Yoda and Obi Wan, who discovered Anakin. But while I am not sure he would return in Episode VII, he might be seen in a different film - including the recently announced Obi Wan Kenobi standalone films.
  15. @@hleV Actually I am not. I would like to see a lot of familiar things from Star Wars - the traditions, the feel in new stories. It's what lacked somehow in other newer sources of SW, but Rebels do have them in mind and have already added these into the first episode. I wouldn't say the same about the second one, as it is based on a different aspects (or so it seems), like humour. So no lying here. I do strongly believe, that every Star Wars story, including TFU, has genuine patterns of Star Wars ideal. I mean, that some things in the Galaxy are indisputable, and in Rebels (well, in the first 50 minutes of the show) I saw these. I also compare the feel - when I played Dark Forces back in 1990s and when I watched certain scenes in "Spark". No doubt, I definitely wouldn't like to see Death Star plans stolen by a new character, including Ezra, thus rewriting the story of Kyle Katarn (which has already been done with Lethal Alliance). But I guess there are things, which would satisfy me as a fan nonetheless. I also wouldn't agree, that every kids show wouldn't have to do anything with adults. I watched through several series, including the ones from 1990s and from different parts of the world. Take Hayao Miyazaki for instance. Are his animations childish? But are they for adults? I think you can't say for certain yes or no... But some people don't like or adore his works not for being either. If Rebels were called otherwise than Star Wars, lots of other things would have been removed from there as well. Even so it could still boast popularity (there are lots of others, loved with fans like Mass Effect, or less famous - Remember Me). But it's not the name, that makes it SW. Do you think, that a show would be better if it were made like Heavy Metal in 1981? I can imagine what it would like. I mean, yes, why not? Or would you insist, that if Rebels were real-life actors show, the plot would be naturally corrected to be not as childish? Star Trek Next Generation proved to be quite the show by the end...
  16. @ Reminds of a cut scene from Episode VI (Death Star) and Episode III (Trade Federation).
  17. @@hleV Still elaborate please. Because for the most part "It's bad because I tried" or "It's bad because it has bad plot" (bad lines, bad characters, etc). I didn't like CW at all at first, When I watched the movie, I was like "Hey, what was that about?" I still believe it's quite dubious to see that the whole story evolved around attack on Christophsis and then the kidnapping of Jabba's son (another strange detail). We see Ventress, okey, but overall this was a very weak experiment. For the most part the whole Season 1 was like that. I also agree on the point with some people, that TCW rewrote a lot of previously established stuff (like deaths of some Jedi, or conflicts, tech, etc). Some would argue that the show is childish, but there are episodes with deep thoughts on certain phenomena like war, friendship, trust and "what is must be done and what is right"... I won't mention the episodes themselves, but there are things like this. As for design - don't be too harsh. Star Wars have been forever and will ever be more than just a plot or effect. It is also an idea (which is not the plot surely), the dramatic effect, the design (whatever anyone says, but it's a large work of artists in fashion, architecture, industrial design, etc), music and the work of the actors. With Rebels we must admit, that it's an animated series. If so, then it can't be for adults only. We'll need real actors for that, however it would require additional resources and surely a balance in rates on TV. If one such season would fail, we would never see any series at all. The franchise (any actually) however can't survive at the level of its previous popularity solely through comics or toys (other such media). Even video games and books won't allow it to stay. So the element of childish stuff can't be removed here. If we take aside the childish thing, what else would you call as a negative side of the show? For me it's certain animation. I can't say specific criticism of the plot for now, except maybe for episode with the droids. For it was unclear to see why would they add this story in the beginning (but I suppose they will explain it in later episode). Also as I said before - I like the fact, that Rebels do not contradict my favourite Dark Forces.
  18. @@hleV Speaking of TFU - I expected a lot from that game, but it was nothing even close to what it could be. Enough to say, that it was a big talk only during its time... Take KOTOR for instance - the game is a legend and a story loved by fans even a decade later (though TFU is admired as well, but not to the same scale). So "to whom how" and "from a certain point of view". Saying that Rebels is bad - too simple. It's not enough as an argument at all (obviously). One reason is - clearly - that the show has just begun. We must at least watch one season to say anything quite specific about it. For now I posted before - why I like the Rebels as a Star Wars fan and more as an old Star Wars fan. It's my habit to analyze every Star Wars story I come across. I already said, why the show is good (in short - it follows the patterns of the Original Trilogy, most designs - ships, structures, clothes, tech - are derived either from OT or the unused concept artist Ralph McQuarrie, the music, etc). Just like with any thing, I mentioned the negative sides here as well. So please elaborate on what is truly bad about the two (three) episodes already released. It would be only fair. @@Circa Actually people do complain. But for now I don't see anything in Rebels, which would contradict the already established Dark Forces, Jedi Outcast, Shadows of the Empire. =) Perhaps it will be otherwise later, but for now...
  19. Just finished the second episode of Rebels. Surely the first episode had a much larger impact, but nonetheless it had it pleasant moments, like familiar faces and surely familiar music. It seems soundtrack is another side of the show, which is at its peak.
  20. Oh mine! It seems Rebels is doing the right job - still referencing even the Legends pattern Watching Episode 2 now...

I'll clarify that I wasn't being rash, but I've noticed him post it a couple times, and figured he should know the correct phrase. :P

  21. #BuyLegendsOnly - Good point. =)

  22. Today in a bookstore I found a SW book on ilustrations and concept art: there is so much they planned for 1313! So many characters, cantinas, streets, even villas on Coruscant. Too bad we won't see it. :(

One could always make their own 1313

Most people already have a project of their own. I myself prefer creating very new stories, which might have happened (sure why not), but don't repeat even the unreleased material. =)

  23. Too bad there is no conversation between Blizz and Treek in SWTOR. Or is there?

  24. @@DT85 @@Kualan Depa Billaba was planned to appear in the Clone Wars series as well - at least her concept art can be found there on the official site.
  25. I would rather take the period of 10 BBY - 10 ABY. KOTOR would require a lot of new models - species, new clothes, new droids, weapons, machines (landspeeders), new locations (a very different design for lamps, metallic panels, materials - quite often ignored by most users, showing Darth Malak in Imperial Star Destroyer - wrong! wrong! wrong! ))))) Btw seeing the events of 19 BBY - 15 BBY is also a good point - still possible to use models from CW era.
