  1. This is a great idea, if you're saying that it would possible to implement? I'm surprised no one has attempted it before. I always loved team fortress's approach to it: Giving it a little bit more than just a side-on silhouette of the weapon used, and some subtle colour to the effect. Let's see what Circa comes up with after he's got some ideas together for the icons i'm guessing these should be made primarily as a vector in Adobe Illustrator to a standard oblong resolution (or just A4 landscape for example) so they can be scaled and exported afterwards to the desired size and they can then all be created to the same scale.
  2. This was funnily enough the first "ported" non-JKA 3d model that I looked into when I started looking at frankensteining and going beyond reskins. Now that I can do frankensteins and i'm getting the hang of rigging models, i'm trying to figure out weighing so I do want to return to a deadpool model; I remember the ones that guy called Yoda or something? From the filefront/JK3files days used to make with his ironman reskins of the shadowtrooper and his attempt at deadpool doing the same thing xD Don't count on me to get it done though, someone else is more than welcome to if they want to get this ported model in-game, but it's something I will try and look into at some point - it won't be uploaded here though for obvious reasons, so if I ever get it in-game or start on it it i'll let you know @
  3. I remember Milamber showing me some of the texture work with those statues, the map looks great
  4. Okay here's the download, all of his body parts are tied to the pelvis bone without weights so good luck using this version ingame xD (click me!) I have attached PSD templates for you to work from, with each model part/segment tagged and separated by a different colour block/layer; you should be able to figure it out. They should also open fine in GIMP should you not have Photoshop. I have also included .skin files with each different skin option available; tunic (both wizard sleeved for jedis, and tight sleeve/gauntlet type for siths), robed and hooded with template textures to get you started. Don't worry about any imperfections, clipping etc it will make sense when it's released (the tendrils won't hang outside the back of the hood like they will for you with this file!). If you could PM me your files when you have created something, or post a link to them in here if you wish. Thankyou for your future contributions, I look forward seeing what you come up with! @@Kualan @@Jrue @ and anyone else who wants to have a go. I'm not asking for "experts only" hell I know i'm not as far as retexturing goes If you can do reskins and want to give it a go then be my guest, it will be interesting to see what design and maybe tattoo/markings you come up with. Remember that this uses the same body as used in the jedi/sith spanki skinpacks so that will give you a good starting point/ideas with the body appearance.
  5. Okay awesome, i'll sort out the files tonight and anyone else can chip in if they want to, or have a go.
  6. It shouldn't do, maybe you have another shader file or something conflicting with it. Fancy uploading the files for someone to take a look?
  7. So I decided to work some more on finishing up that TFU Kit Fisto kitbash i've had lying around for far too long now, and I asked one of my buddies - Omicron to have a go at making a reskin for me, this is what he's come up with so far. It's still a WIP: This suddenly brought dejavu and I remembered back when Inyri was making that awesome ME3 Geth model - http://jkhub.org/topic/554-me3-geth/page-4?do=findComment&comment=7459 a couple years ago. You can view the progression and the skins people created for it following that link. She provided a link to a modview-viewable version of the model (without any weights etc for animations in-game), and skin textures for us to recreate our own versions of the skin to be included in the release. I figured maybe this could be an idea for the kit fisto model, if anyone would be interested? By no means am I trying to assume i'm on par with her model, but I figured that this could be a cool project and people might be interested in creating something unique with this model and taking part in a collaboration it would be good for us to have a few more occasions where we can all work together on something. If you would be interested in participating and producing a reskin to be included in the pack let me know in the responses down below. If you're just wanting the model to put your own frankensteins together then bugger off! xD just be patient as this is the final stage now, it won't be much longer to wait for it. Here's a screenshot of the skin, a pretty old version of it though.. to give you an idea of the skin; it's basically the hapslash robes (or the jedi/sith spanki ones as that will make it easier to know what i'm talking about), with the TFU kit fisto head. There is also a hooded variant which isn't included in the screenshots. I have already created an RGB version that will work similarly to the base twi'lek model, and a sith version based off of the "unidentified nautolan sith", but I think it would be pretty cool if people wanted to get involved and make a variant for the pack let me know in the responses below if you think this is a good idea and want to take part!
  8. Well as far as i'm aware, in Xycaleth's version you can't yet turn off transparency, which causes issues for skins which depend upon RGB customisation as certain textures will just be transparent rather than showing the RGB/Alpha area of the texture, Although I much prefer it to the old modview, for this function, and being able to bolt items to already bolted items (hand > hilt > modview saber object) I tend to mix between the two. But this problem has ocurred since changing display output, which seems odd to me when it hasn't effected any other program.
  9. Looks like you need to enable some third party/graphic card software anti-analiasing to smooth the jagged edges.
  10. I like the shoulerpad addition, maybe make it look dirty/weathered to match the clothing.
  11. I recently downgraded from my 27" monitor (2560x1440) to my TV screen (1920x1080). Since changing over when I use modview the zoom/rotation guestures (left click/right click) are very irregular and make it almost impossible to position models how I want them. It's worth noting that the rest of the program works fine though, and Xycaleth's modview beta works fine, it's just with the original Modview program. Does anyone have any suggestions or know what would be causing this? I haven't had any issues with any other programs or anything computer-related since switching my display output so i'm confused with why this is occurring. Thanks in advance.
  12. Good to see you're having fun with it and creating something a little different! Indeed I think the skinning work benefits you greatly here, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Looking good so far
  13. This was funnily enough the first model I looked at when I started looking for ideas for JKA projects and finding some cool star wars models, so it's really good to see it in-game finally.
  14. Exactly, I think pretty much every model you are requesting there was never finished xD Also note how each blog post you referenced says "status: WIP", it wasn't declared that it was a finished model to begin with. Only a few of the models we all wanted to see finished were ever released from Hapslash, so your chances are very slim dude. As I said though, there are worthy alternatives on here, just give the website a browse and you will find what you are looking for. I guess DT could arguably be the modern day version of Hapslash xD as he also created a darth maul model that you will like. And this is probably the best darth vader model, made by Toshi.
  15. I've added some more pictures so you can get an idea of what's inside the PK3, as this isn't only an RGB darth talon reskin.
  16. Yeah if you're new here definitely do a bit of browsing. There's some models you might have never seen which might be a better alternative than what you're hoping to find, like DT85's stormtrooper model.
  17. @@Elfenlied Here you go: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11320011/elfenlied.glm It's a temporary link so grab it while you can. I renamed headband to eyeband, trying to be witty lol. I was going to add it as an extra model part but blender was being a homo, so you have it instead of the normal headband for now. Just make sure you swap headband with eyeband in the .skin files. I had to edit the mesh slightly to fit it around the head at that position, but it looks fine.
  18. Version 2.0

    6,313 downloads

V 1.0 Using Tyrael64's twi-lek reskin to create the Darth Talon skin we all love, I have created a version 2 with added clothing options and most importantly (for me atleast!) RGB. This started out as a simple reskin for a friend of mine Fuzzy/sMile when we all came back to JKA and started playing in a JA+ community again, but it quickly turned into something a little bit more involved as I was playing with frankensteining at the time. It's a skin that you have to see to appreciate, as a lot of the change to the skin since Tyrael's skin was released is only seen in-game, when the RGB takes control and you can also look through the species selection to see how much choice you have now. You will see in the readme that I made this skin months ago, i've just been pretty busy to really release anything, so everything's being released at once, like christmas is coming early for you guys lol. WIP topic: http://jkhub.org/topic/6430-rgb-darth-talon/ I have now uploaded some screenshots to give you a better idea of what's inside the PK3. It features Darth Malgus's respirator, Darth Sion's shoulderguard and Darth Revan's hood; a bunch of sith lord attire for one badass lady of the sith. There are also many specular and glowing shaders which you will notice when you use it in-game. Most importantly for me is the RGB functionality that I have introduced, but it also has a bunch of fresh new icons, using a new background template I have put together to make it stand out from the standard default JK3 icon image that we all use. It was crazy to send Tyrael a message for credits, not expecting any kind of response but to hear him be impressed with what I have done and sound so enthusiastic, even after him being away from JKA for so long. Things like this give you that motivation to continue what you are doing, even if it's something which to yourself seems to simple, and knowing that frankensteining isn't half as difficult as it would have been back then before the plugins we have now were available. ...and so it begins V 2.0 A lot of time has passed, I released this updated version nearly three years ago! Since the 2.0 version alpha release I have updated the icons and re-organised the skin so that there is a "model darth_talon" and also a "model jedi_talon" so that RGB works correctly in team based games. Version 2 of my original Darth Talon skin. Comes with lots of variants to choose from in the species section, I have used jan's goggles, Darth Malgus's mask, Darth Revan's hood and made most things RGB, which works really well with this skin because of how the twi'lek's skin choices change colour. The new version comes with: - New head with mouth weights - Updated tattoos - Reverse colour option (inspired by sideshow collectibles figure) - "Ultimate" version with different tentacles model from the swtor female nautolan model, hood and mask - Compressed files (half the size this release was going to be!) - New icons - Modified hoth boots to fit the legs so that they can be used; they're a better shaped footwear than what was used in version ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - Tyrael64's reskin of the jedi_tf into Darth Talon. Thank you for your response when I contacted you years ago as I wasn't expecting to even hear from you this many years later, i'm really glad that you liked what I did with it in version 1. Without your PSDs/original files this wouldn't have been possible! - Captain Leeroy for the additional variant of darth talon. - Lt.Claim for his ported models of star wars characters, you helped start my "kitbashing/porting models into JKA" fascination. - Disembowell at Deviantart for the model parts added in version 2: https://www.deviantart.com/disembowell/art/Darth-Talon-for-XNALara-XPS-390192277 - Noodle for the advice since bringing this project back from the dead, and creating mouth/face animations for the model - Omicron for the continued advice and assisting with any texture/shader tweaks for the final release - Milamber for the continual support with getting my head around frankensteining and 3D modelling over the years, and keeping up with my nagging! - Sazen/Cloud & Maui for the continual support with getting my head around frankensteining and any 3D modelling in the past, and for making these kind of projects more interesting when I have other creative minds to share the progress with and discuss ideas to along the way.
  19. If no one does it i'll open it up in blender tomorrow evening and see how it looks adjusting the height of the headband to cover the eyes for you.
  20. We need to have a chat about your promos.. xD Nice skin though nonetheless
  21. Oh I have this it was part of a clan's hiltpack somewhere. I'll message you on steam (y)
