  1. Yeah but that's how all MMO trailers are, for the most part. They show a really cool trailer to build hype for the game. However, those videos aren't technically trailers. They are cinematics that are played at the beginning of the game when you choose your side. They released them to build hype as a trailer, if I remember correctly. Not sure why we started talking about SWTOR though. That's kind of a surface level mindset though. They aren't tie pilots. They are special forces that are trained also as pilots. Their helmets are similar to TIE pilot's because don't those helmets allow them to survive in space if they need to eject? Pretty sure I read that somewhere. And would explain why they went with that helmet for them.
  2. Well, yes. But honestly, any game from that era is going to be pretty darn clunky compared to modern games.
  3. I always thought those white cores were slightly too thick. On some hilts you can see the core is thicker than the emitter.
  4. It was for PC and PS1, yeah. How was it bad, exactly? I thought it was epic, even today. It had puzzles and a very open atmosphere. And was pretty difficult at times. The PS2 and Gameboy versions were extremely different games though. I actually didn't like the Gameboy version because of the cartoon style of it. The PS2 version would extremely good though. They expanded on scenes from the movie in such a cool way, and the combat was pretty fun. This is a thread about "bad" Star Wars games, but one of my favorite SW games of all time is the Gameboy Advanced game from the AOTC era, A New Droid Army. That was suuuuch a good game. The saber combat was really cool because you felt like your saber was a deadly weapon, killing enemies in one or two hits (aside from bosses). And the story was really cool. I wanted to remake it JKA really bad, perhaps as part of the Star Wars Saga mod or something, but no time. I still fire up an emulator and play through it every couple of years.
  5. Probably. Looks like the font being used may be the issue too? Not really sure. Use the process of elimination to figure out what mod is causing the issue.
  6. If only Spanki had made a female Jedi skin pack. His face textures were epic. He proved you can make completely new people from the same model and look even better than the original face did. Scerendo's is really great as well, though there's not as many as Spanki's male pack. There are actually a lot more female heads around other than Gweth and Scerendo's pack though. Not to even mention the base female models (Jan, Tavion, Alora, Jaden) but there's DT's Mara Jade, Scerendo's Rey, a couple Leia models, Toshi's Padme. Lots to choose from. It's just a matter of reskinning them well to make them look like new people.

    SaberMod

Very nice ideas here. Always good to improve on the game without losing sight of the core gameplay. +1 from me
  8. Never heard of it. You should link to the mod's page if it's actually a thing.
  9. If you're using openJK then there should be a folder in /Documents/My Games/ If not, then you're not using OpenJK. For the above, it looks like those models are using the lowest LOD. Make sure your Model quality setting is turned to High. (Can't remember the actual name of the setting atm) If they are the only hilts that have that problem, then it's how the saber pack you have installed is making them appear to be. Luke's saber isn't available in MP by default.
  10. You need to use an image hosting service such as Imgur.com and then use the link it provides.
  11. Well we had begun work on an even bigger project, that would include missions spanning the battles and situations outside of just the duels from the entire saga. It's a huge project though, and not many people were interested in helping out. tbh, making duels happen in this game isn't all that hard. And frankly kinda boring to play compared to other things you could recreate from the films. But you would need to learn mapping and ICARUS scripting to pull it off properly.
  12. /dmflags 8 I think..
  13. Welcome! It depends on the question. If it's related to modifying Movie Duels 2, post in the Modding Assistance forum. If it's just a general question about the mod, post in either Jedi Knight General Discussion or General Modding Discussion. MD2 is an old mod released years ago, so there's no special forum for the development of it or anything like that. I assume that was your curiosity, anyway.
  14. Made a quick image showing the hilts with their names, added to the original post. I remember I used the Praetor hilt when I first played the game, because I thought it looked the most like a saber that would be seen in the films. I used blue for that; I thought it looked best with blue. It's way too big of a model though, as stated above. It's huge. My second playthrough, I used Firebrand with a green blade. I think those two are my favorite, followed by Sentinel. And even though Luke's hilt in JKA looks like a blocky plastic toy version of the real one, I like it as a hilt on it's own. I used that for some playthroughs after I learned how to do cheats and mods. I think Luke's saber with an orange blade looks really cool. For staff hilts, Vindicator. I'm not really a fan of any of them, though.
  15. I think most people will agree that the saber hilts in Jedi Academy are somewhat lacking in both style and realism (they look like they are made of plastic, in my opinion). However, when you first installed the game, at least one of the hilts must have been attractive enough for you to choose it as your weapon of choice. Your choices could depend on MP or SP, so feel free to explain your answers. This poll has two questions, single sabers and staff sabers. I also included Kyle, Luke, Desann, and Reborn hilts, and the ability to choose 2 for those of you that duel wield, to the singles question.
  16. OpenJK will create a crashlog.txt file in the OpenJK folder. Find that and see what the error is, probably located at the very bottom.
  17. Putting all nostalgia aside, Rogue One. Though yes, the character development in a series of 5 games compared to one film is going to surpass the latter, I still prefer it over the games.
  18. Please tell me you're joking right now... That feature has been built into Windows since XP.
  19. You know you can create ZIP files with just Windows, right? You just right click on the folder and go to Send To > Compressed folder.
  20. TFU and TFU are bad in terms of story and concept. Too powerful, you start out as a villain but not for long, the story was just silly. Especially TFU2. They were really grasping at straws there. The gameplay was fun though, I will admit. JKA story is even worse, but the gameplay is fun and MP holds it together. Obi-Wan for Xbox is pretty bad. Obi-Wan is my favorite character but that game couldn't keep me engaged in it enough to play past the first few levels. There was a Clone Wars game for original Xbox as well, where you played basically just the Battle of Geonosis and stuff from EP2. I remember playing as Mace Windu and sabering Geonosians and droids. But I think it was pretty bad. I didn't play much of it.
  21. Actually I think its your compression software. All of your files have a weird issue. I always have to repack zip files. Only certain software can open them. Should be fixed now, @TechShaman, try again.
  22. I was thinking more of like a Modview sort of system. You just click inside the box and move the model around how you please by clicking/dragging around.
  23. You'll have to give a lot more info than that. Does it give you an error when it crashes in the crashlog? You'll have to probably show your pk3 as well.
  24. Sounds like a lot of work, with not many capable people around these days to do it. All of what you said sounds cool, for sure, but that amount of work requires a large team of developers to accomplish properly.
