  1. There are 7 unique styles for saber combat in Jedi Academy. All have pros and cons and some are only usable in single player. What's your favorite and why?
  2. Could make the scope's lens a separate texture and make it bigger. Maybe.
  3. I'm not saying I hate that we have it, I love that it's there and I really want people to contribute to it more. It could be really cool. The pages that are already there are really well done. Also, the wiki was launched way before I even became staff. I think @@Fighter, @@SiLink, or @@therfiles had something to do with it. But yeah, like @@Xycaleth said, I was mostly referring to how it functions. Ever since it broke and went to hell, it was never brought back fully. It used to have the entire JKHub navigation at the top for a seamless transition from wiki to forum. There may be better software I suppose but wikis in general can be a pain to work with. Like I said though, its on our list to improve this year. We'd love for more members to write pages though. There are so many things that have yet to be covered.
  4. I'll be honest. I hate the wiki. There, I said it. The staff agrees and have been trying to think of ways to give it more attention but we haven't done much yet. It seems to fall on the back burner a lot.
  5. No, hit markers, like this: Tells you that you hit your target. In CoD Ghosts and above, it turns red when you successfully get a kill. Not something necessary in JK2 or JKA SP in my opinion.
  6. Very nice. Will make a fine addition to JKE. Aside from that though, we really need a new Han Solo model to give this thing justice.
  7. Basically, we've had some slow progress but it's progress nonetheless. I have rearranged the forum into new categories for better organization now that we have a lot of threads for various things. Great work has been done so far, but there's lots still to do, and that means we need some help still. I like the random contributions that have been done so far, it makes the project feel like a community project rather than just a set team. A few more skilled people are needed though, in the following areas: Mappers - particularly fluent in scripting for SP but not necessarily. We are planning on have a whole new tier of missions for SP, and need some more help with that.Texture artist - this would be nice. Right now I'm the only one I believe, and would love to have another to help out. We're wanting to recreate the base textures to be higher quality. Not every single one, but most of the 2D/HUD textures and many of the map textures, as well as new customization options for the player models. Menu coder - we're planning on some changes to the menus, as well as adding new ones in certain spots. Would be great to have another one on board.Any other contributions would be awesome Perhaps we can have a nice (but rough) beta version ready for people, if we're being optimistic?
  8. @@Pande since reworking the "gold pack" into JK: Enhanced, this is mostly a SP project, but we will possibly include some MP maps like this. I'm curious though, could we use this map as an additional SP mission? I was thinking of possibly reworking the t1_sour mission to start on this map, and then move to the original after Kyle and Jaden "check out the cantina" like he says in the original. And also any other maps you have that we could use would be appreciated as well. Could rework and add to them a bit to turn into a SP level.
  9. @@eezstreet @@redsaurus are we still on two separate forks of OpenJK or what's going on with this? Seems eez was in charge of JK2 and red was on JKA. Are we planning on merging at some point, if so?

  11. Yeah, I'll work on making the cave part less blocky. For the actual temple though, I want it blocky because it's a carved out temple, I imagine it would be pretty squared off. And thanks guys. I regret not attempting mapping earlier.
  12. So I am finally learning how to map, so I figure that I might as well make a SP mission for this project while I learn. This is my first map, bear with me here. Basically this mission will have something to do with the cultists at an old Sith temple on the planet Ilum, where lightsaber crystals are found during the films. The Jedi had a temple for Padawans to take a trial to get their crystals, I figure the Sith had a temple too, and I'm sure it had a great deal of dark side power to draw Tavion to it. This map will take place in the Sith temple, but it's more of an underground cave temple, inspired by Skyrim and KotOR. Lots of red crystals scattered throughout. Perhaps the source of the power is a giant crystal? You'll start out the mission outside a cave, in which you enter the cave (probably an ice cave, a la Skyrim) and make your way into the temple's entry. There will be the first room, with a "cleansing" trough (could be used for ancient rituals or to cleanse the crystals), and some boulders. No obvious door is visible, but an observant player will notice the wall looks odd, and can be pushed with the Force. Through that door opens another small room with crystals, a statue, and a door: the entry to the temple itself. First room of the temple will be a very large corridor with statues lined down the walls. And that's as far as I've gotten so far with the map.   21. @@therfiles that's brilliant. I don't think you showed me that before, or maybe I'm crazy. So detailed, lots of interesting stuff going on. I like the idea of a wave of stormtroopers. Were you thinking like a counter on the HUD that shows how many are left, only to show it reset after 0, then telling you to retreat?

      Very nice Circa! :) This reminds me of my old Quake 2 mapping days. :D I was actually making a level which was home of Bananas in Pyjamas. LOL! Never finished though. :D

  23. @@therfiles already started the Tantive mission, and Episode IV will be a good starting place for us anyway. If you could post those videos, that would be cool. UPDATE: Brief mission synopsis: Starts out where you play as a rebel soldier on the Tantive IV, and you have to defeat multiple waves of stormtroopers. After 5 or so waves, Vader enters, rebels retreat to a new spot. 5 more waves. Vader enters. Retreat. Next objective is to fall back to the princess to defend her at the escape pods, 5 more waves at that location. Cut to scene from film of Leia giving plans to R2 and the droids fall to Tatooine. I had started on some new Rebel skins but I seem to have lost them. Would anyone else be interested in helping out with that too? Perhaps we could frankenstein some new heads on to the rebel body to have some variation. The default rebel head is pretty ugly.
