That's why. He infiltrated the base on Danuta, fought his way through swarms of stormtroopers, stole the plans, and delivered them to the Alliance. Not some random band of Rebels noone has ever heard of, and none of which carried a trusty Bryar Pistol

Besides, there can't be a real Kyle Katarn without Jason Court.

In short, let the legend of Kyle Katarn live in the Expanded Universe, and keep it out of the new canon, where it would most certainly be butchered.

Actually there are other forums that discuss the plans being transmitted by a circuitous route... that Kyle transmitted the plans to another rebel group that broke into an imperial comms center and transmitted the plans.

I follow Jason Court page in social media. He seems to be more into hiking and mountain sports, traveling too. Sometimes he appears in TV shows, but that's it. I doubt, he recalls much from his experience in Star Wars, and most likely he doesn't even follow what's going on there now.

 

But this doesn't mean Katarn won't make a return! In the past they split the DS Plans operations, so that the plans are a complicated data and only the information from several Imperial sources could help the Alliance. It's still possible even with the new Rogue One movie. Well, at least I'll find a way to bring the two into one Universe.

Seems that those 2 new stormtrooper that everyone hated few months ago are now to be official design in this movie. Can't every move have the same stormtrooper design?! I'm getting tired of all this designs. Now we have a paintball outfits huh?

To me that tan trooper looks like some kind of scout trooper variant. I kinda like the new tank and big transport shuttle, not so much the AT-AT's new design: considering in Rebels we yet have some kind of "AT-AT prototype", I would have preferred if they just used the normal ESB design.

IMDB lists her name as Jyn Erso but I wonder if that's confirmed.

Sadly, I think it is confirmed to be "Jyn Erso" but Jan would have been a neat nod to the fans.

 

So much to love here. Mon Mothma, that new imperial guy with the cape, Forrest Whitaker's character (is he an old, wounded Jedi?), that cloaked guy who kneels before an energy source (with royal guardsmen), and that awesome little martial arts take down. So cool!
