  1. Okay, @@Fire Phoenix. Although the mod is currently pending approval in JKHub, thus I don't know what's awaiting me, I find it impressive that you secretively worked on fixing this mod.

And that's a good thing, because if you would have frequently posted any updates to this topic (e.g. the current progress, what's in that mod and the release date), it would have summoned a hysteria

nobody could handle. It would have been fatal to this project, similar to what happened during the development of KotF 2.0.

Hopefully, this version will have a better reputation than the original mod.

EDIT: I'm downloading your file right now, from your Google Drive. I hope it's worth it.

  2. We all know that Sir Christopher Lee played as Count Dooku in Star Wars and Sarumon in Lord of the Rings, but did you guys ever know that he was Dracula in the Hammer Films? Let's hope to get a Count Dooku model which is basically Christopher Lee himself and remodel him to look more younger and dress him spookier like Dracula. I wonder if you guys watched the Hammer Dracula movies before?

    dracula_sir-chrisopher-lee.jpg?w=663

Great idea. I think instead of reskinning Dooku, somebody could use the Sherlock Holmes skin that is basically a reskin of Dooku.

  3. I need this raven face in the middle without the beard.

Can someone give me or create it to me? :)

The texture, at least the left one in the picture, is from the Revan model/skin by @@ShenLong Kazama, which has been applied on the head of HapSlash's Anakin.

If you want to use it, I'll suggest you ask him for permission first.

EDIT: Because I read your post too quickly, I didn't see that you asked for the one in the middle. However, it looks like a modified version of the model I mentioned.

Still, if you want to modify it, ask ShenLong for permission.

  4. I downloaded sjc's kashyyyk map:https://jkhub.org/files/file/168-star-wars-episode-iii-jka-map-pack-part-3/

but there are some problems with the map, it has a sky bug when i move up the cursor

    A829KIu.png

    ltOSDVE.png

It only works perfectly in mp

Seems to be a shader problem. Have you tried to load the map in the unmodded game?

If the map is in the base folder, try to move any pk3, except the assets and this map, into a seperate folder (you can later put them back into the base folder). This way, the game only loads the map.

  5. Well i'm working in a new menu for jedi academy but im having problems in remove the jedi academy logo. I can change the splash screen , the loading screen , the main background and even the music. But can't remove the logo.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/sn5hjgxz1uq2xai/Sin%20t%C3%ADtulo.png?dl=0

If I remove the jediacademy.tga located in assets1...

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/oaq2w67r80ogeje/Sin%20t%C3%ADtulo2.png?dl=0

    What should I do exactly?

The jediacademy.tga file must not be removed. You can just open the file with Gimp and delete the logo until you have a transparent layer. Don't forget to add an alpha channel to the image before you do that.

Than you can replace the transparent image with the logo by putting it into another pk3 file. Just make sure that the transparent image is exported in a .tga file, just like the original file.

The original file is already transparent. All you have to do is just remove the logo with the eraser tool.

This is a Photoshop tutorial, but that should work for Gimp either, as both programs are similar.

You can download it here: https://download.gimp.org/mirror/pub/gimp/v2.8/windows/gimp-2.8.18-setup.exe

If you don't have any experience in Gimp or photo editing/creating in general, I suggest you should look out for beginner tutorials. It's not as simple as it seems, so you need

to take your time for that. Start small, play with the software a little bit until you get an understanding of its functions, then you can take on a project like this.

  7. I played this game about ten years ago. It was one of those Ubisoft games I actually enjoyed, next to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Batman Vengeance for Gamecube. I really liked this game and made it to the end - but I just couldn't complete it.

I don't know how you guys experienced that, but...

...the end boss was just f*cking insane. Out of all boss battles I've ever had in any game I ever played, this one was just terrible. Instead of giving you a good challenge that needs two or three tries to get used to it, this one was just unspeakable terrible. During the fight, you have a certain pattern you need to get down. Once you know the pattern, it's only a matter of time until you can finally defeat the boss. But when you thought you could match him, the boss reverses your controls (if you want to go left, you go right and so on). After many tries I gave up. And it takes a lot to get me giving up a game I played for many days/weeks.

Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind giving this game another go and see if I can beat it. It wouldn't be like finding the Holy Grail, but I could finally say that I completed this game.

  8. Q3 Engine was amazing for its time, many great games were based on it. It isn't the engine's fault for the game dying out.

That's right. The reason why Jedi Academy has "failed" was not the engine, but the lack of content. Without the Jedi Knight community, this game

would have been forgotten about two years after its release.

Personally, I don't wish a new Jedi Academy. But I really like it when somebody is trying to enhance the experience of the game.

  9. Looks like a map that has been made for Movie Battles.

The last topic entries have been posted about 3-4 years ago, so it is possible that the creator has cancelled this project.

I hate situations like that. I mean, you get a bunch of screenshots of high quality maps that are faithful recreations of the ones seen in the movies, which develops

a huge anticipation within you. But then, all of a sudden, the creator just leaves the project without any explanation. I hope there is a way to contact the creator to ask him

    if this map still exists.

I don't want to know how many hours have been spent on this masterpiece. It's just sad that maps like this have become pretty rare nowadays, especially when they look and feel as if they come

    directly from the movies.

  10. I had to. I just had to.

Don't be ashamed of your request. I mean, there is nothing wrong with that.

(The only thing that's more annoying than a simple request is bumping a topic several times.)

Somebody made a Marty McFly skin many years ago, for Jedi Outcast. You can finde it here:

    http://mrwonko.de/jk3files/Jedi%20Outcast/Skins/Celebrities/7274/

It's from 2002 and a reskin of HapSlash's Luke Skywalker, so don't expect any great quality here. And as far as I know, this is the only Marty skin that has been ever made.

It should also work for Jedi Academy, too.

  11. - Possibly randomize the appearance of certain enemies (an idea taken from Seven's Reborn Sith Replacer and Spanki's wonderful Sith Customization).

    - Similarly, possibly randomize (within reason) the weapons, AI ranks, and other stats of enemies at spawn.

This is something I wanted to suggest before I came to read this part. I thought it might be interesting.

Maybe you could try to randomize the NPCs depending on the difficulty you choose. The higher the difficulty, the higher is the chance of randomized NPCs appearing throughout the game.

    An example:

Padawan: It has the basic setting just like in vanilla Jedi Academy.

Jedi: Random NPCs are activated. They have random weapons and are slightly stronger.

Jedi Knight: Random NPCs are activated. They are stronger and take more hits. Stormtroopers are better marksmen.

Jedi Master: Random NPCs can now change their ranks, appearances and weapons. The nemies are even more ruthless.

Of course it should be kept in a realistic way as possible. I mean, Stormtroopers should still be Stormtroopers, Reborns should still be Reborns, but only with random appearances, weapons and abilities.

If I understand correctly, you have 4 menus that have 125 buttons, right? That's way too much. A good menu needs to be straightforward, well structured and easy to use. It's not the amount of button that counts.

The more buttons you have, the more complicated it gets for the user. Just balance it out. Try to reduce the amount by removing stuff you think aren't really necessary,

Could you show us an example of how your menu looks like? Maybe we can help you and give you advises.

  13. No offence, each to their own preferences etc, but I just don't really see the appeal of putting non-SW models into a game like JKA?

I don't mind seeing non-Star Wars models in Jedi Academy/Outcast. We already have a lot of them, so I don't see a reason why it should be a problem. Every model, no matter if Star Wars related or not, is another way to keep the community of Jedi Academy/Outcast alive.

I'm a lifelong Star Wars fan, and I really appreciate every well made model based on the movies. But sometimes, I really like to see something different, something that must not be necessarily related to Star Wars. It can be anything, from Pirates of the Carribean to Star Trek. For example, somebody released the Laser Screwdriver from Doctor Who last week, which brought a little variety.

Sometimes, I rather like to see requests to things outside Star Wars than reading the 2187th requests about porting higher quality The Clone Wars models to Jedi Academy.

  14. I was the most concerned with shipping the game assets too.

He already deleted the original game assets and clarified that a legal copy of Jedi Academy is required to run the mod. Maybe it was a late decision, but better than never.

And about the mod: I'm neutral about it. Maybe it will become the "next big thing" or it will fail like other ambitious projects. Like many mods, it still has the chance to redeem itself.

  15. Oh and no credits given to *any* of the mods used.  Including QEffects from @@eezstreet.

Reading this makes me rethink all the hopes I had in that mod. I mean, what's the point of using mods from others and not giving credit to the original authors?

It's like KotF or Evolution of Combat all over again.

Ten years ago, you could go to a site and find a mod that was probably worth downloading. And if it had contents from other authors, they have been credited. You could enjoy the ride and be pleased by

the ideas many modders had. It was not about gaining a reputation, it was about the fun of modding itself. If every mod would have that kind of spirit, and if everybody would work together on mods like this one, this community would feel less like a battleground.
