  1. Those models don't look half as good as you think they do when you strip them down into a JKA-compatible version. The reason they look so good in Battlefront is a combination of a high vertex count (which JKA can't handle), various normal/diffuse/specular/etc texture layers (JKA doesn't support all of these) and in-game lighting (which JKA can't replicate). Honestly, for Luke and Leia I think we already have the definitive versions available to us - and those have been purpose-made for the game. I'm all for kitbashing and some light porting to bring new characters to the game, but for major players like the Big Three from the OT there is categorically nothing that beats a custom-made JKA model, and we already have them for two of the three. And I believe there is a Han Solo in the works somewhere? @@DT85 I think.
  2. I believe @@JAWSFreelao has a hooded Plo Koon variant in the works.
  3. I suspect it's the same sort of errors I had with Dengar. If you want to PM me the WIP I can try to fix it up for you.
  4. File -> Project Settings? Edit -> Preferences? You've probably already checked those - if not maybe there's a .cfg or .ini file in Radiant's hard drive folder you can edit? EDIT: Oh, or you could look in Textures -> Load Directory and see what the path is at the bottom of that?
  5. Very nice model - and nice map in the screenshots too! Where is that from?
  6. In fairness, that particular site is explicitly for providing free-to-use assets for fan-made projects so I don't think you need to worry about it.
  7. I tried just now but was getting constant 'Connection Interrupted'. My Internet seems fine otherwise - I'll probably try again a little later.
  8. I've been meaning to check this server out properly for awhile now. What sort of times do you tend to have a peak of players? I might wander into the server and spectate a bit.
  9. Passive aggressive patronising isn't exactly helpful either.
  10. So much this. Seriously, some folks need to be a lot less entitled about demanding people's efforts and free time (and free labour) for something they do as a hobby.
  11. The trouble is that the source glass textures (found in assets1.pk3 -> textures -> common) are incredibly small-scale, which makes it very hard to replace them with a solid surface texture that won't look absolutely dreadful, deformed and/or stretched in-game.
  12. Thanks man!
  13. Glad you guys like it. Did a little more work, zoning in on a release-ready model I think:
  14. I made a request thread for this yesterday but today I had a sudden idea on how I could kitbash the following: Just a first draft for now - still some tinkering left to do to make him more screen-accurate.
  15. I would like to CANCEL this request as I believe I've figured out how to kitbash this model myself. Thanks anyway.
  16. I think I remember seeing @@Seven or @@Jeff had a WIP of these guys. EDIT: Correction, it was @@Jrue in this thread: https://jkhub.org/topic/6507-barabelmasters-projects/
  17. Hey man, just tried this out and it seems the .skin file points to a folder that isn't included in the .pk3 ?
  18. Okay I think we're zoning in on the issue. You may need to check in your preferences in Radiant and ensure all your game paths and directories are set up correctly. Furthermore, changing the write permissions for the Jedi Academy and/or running Radiant as administrator should ensure the software has no problem with saving the .map where it needs to. The .map file isn't saving in your GameData/Base/ directory since you can't see it there but it is saving somewhere as Radiant can still find it. If the above steps don't help you may need to run a full file search on your hard drive to track down where the file is being saved and move it to the right directory manually.
  19. Preview for Volume Three: Issue Four - Plots, Schemes And Machinations Full issue should be completed in the near future.
  20. Hi folks. I was wondering if any of our modellers could be tempted to create a character model for the Coruscant Underworld Police , as originally featured in the Clone Wars TV show. I think they have a very interesting - if underrated - design that evokes similarities to both WW2-era German stormtroopers and modern-day riot police. If anyone is considering taking up the request, I have included some more reference images in the spoiler tab below: Hopefully the design of these police officers pique the interest of someone here on the Hub. Regards, Kualan
  21. Yeah, it's not as if this was just some fringe indie Star Wars FPS - they actively set out in their mission statement that it was an attempt to create a Battlefront game of their own. How can you expect the company that actually owns Battlefront to be okay with that?
  22. Only two things I could guess from that are: a) Permission issue, as @@Boothand suggests b) When you save your .map files (not compile, just regular saving in Radiant) is it saving to the directory listed in the error message? (GameData/base/maps/). Seems a silly question I know, but the message is implying that it can't find the .map file you're working on in the directory it expects it to be.
