  1. There is a door, yes, and the area portal is only on one face. The rest of the brush has a system/skip texture on it.
  2. In one of the rooms (I'm sure you can guess which one) I have two NPCs practising their lightsaber techniques against one another. When I walk around the temple, I can hear their occasional taunt, jump and clash and grunt. The area is completely sealed with an area portal, so I'm not sure why this is. Are the sounds global or something? I can hear them from the other side of the map. If that's the case, is there anything I can do about it? I have this problem on the original Yavin Temple in Jedi Outcast too. Is the only solution to rig it in such a way that they despawn/spawn when you leave and enter the said area?
  3. I can tell already that I would be bad at this. If I'm around when one takes place, you can count me in!
  4. That's awesome to know! Are there any tutorials on how to set them up properly? I didn't see any after doing a quick search (I only saw bot routing tutorials.) Do you just have to put them within a close enough proximity to one another, or Ctrl + K them? Presumably they all have to be connected to one another as you say, but what's the proper way to implement that? A do and don't list would be great. I've de-compiled a base single player map to use as a reference, but I just want to make sure that I'm doing everything properly.
  5. While in the process of populating Yavin IV with NPCs, I came across this conundrum: They'll quite cheerfully slash at one another until they're at a great distance or the pillar obstructs their vision of one another. I added //(BHVD) set ( /*@SET_TYPES*/ "SET_LOOK_FOR_ENEMIES", "true" ); and that seems to have overcome the distance issue, but not the line of sight one. I assume this is something that waypoints help with. Does anyone happen to have any advice on how this works? EDIT: Any recommendations on how to keep them quiet would be good too. They already have... //(BHVD) set ( /*@SET_TYPES*/ "SET_NO_COMBAT_TALK", /*@BOOL_TYPES*/ "true" ); //(BHVD) set ( /*@SET_TYPES*/ "SET_IGNOREPAIN", /*@BOOL_TYPES*/ "true" );//(BHVD) set ( /*@SET_TYPES*/ "SET_NO_ALERT_TALK", /*@BOOL_TYPES*/ "true" ); They don't complain when they wallop each other, but there's only so many times you can hear the words "Let the Force flow through you!"
  6. That had occurred to me, but I'm not clever enough to implement that idea. Researching it is my back up! Interestingly, if I step in front of the NPC when they attempt a Force Pull, I get tossed around quite a bit! EDIT: I had a moment of inspiration and cheated. I've placed a small func_static in their path! They're now working as desired.
  7. In an attempt to make the Yavin Temple a bit more lively, I've put two NPCs in front of the movable blocks. The NPCs push the blocks just fine, but they cannot pull them back. Their Force Pull level is set to level 3. In the video, mine is set to level 1. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to amend this problem? https://youtu.be/2GkXKr82XTU
  8. Yay, mapping! ^.^

  9. I tried your suggestion, Langerd. The problem persisted, so I downloaded 1.6 and set that up. I used the brush clean up tool; that fixed a few things but not my particular problem. I have since solved it however! My disc drive had stopped working, so I moved radiant and everything to my Steam directory instead. When I installed 1.6 as mentioned earlier, I'd set it up to my disc JA. From what, I realised my disc copy JA directory had something my Steam one did not. I copied my shaders folder from Base (disc) to Base (steam). Since then, I haven't had the issue. The problem was external, no wonder I couldn't find a problem in the map!
  10. So, I opened in GTKRadiant for the first time in goodness knows how long so that I could crack on with Yavin IV. Before starting, I decided to compile the map to refresh my memory of where I was up to, then this came up: Naturally, I searched for the error with Google: I'm looking for help. I've attempted following the instructions at the top and combed through the map trying to sort this out to no avail. The map still compiles eventually and aesthetically, looks the same as ever, but it takes a really long time about it now. Is there anyone here who has encountered this problem before? What did you do to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. That looks fabulous, AngelModder! Well done. ^.^

Some very good ones, too. =D
  14. I've not had my own server for a while, but if I'm not mistaken, you need to modify the modelscale.cfg file and upload it to the server itself, which then tells the server which models to adjust to what scale. If you open it in a text editor, it'll read something like this: "aayla" 1.05"adi" 1.10"anakin" 1.05"anakinvm" 1.05"anavader" 1.05 and so on. Those being model names. That means that you'd have to ask the person maintaining the server files to add your model to the .cfg. Hope that helps.
  15. I'm going to have to agree with your assessment on the basis that you seem to have taken a picture of your screen, rather than take an actual screenshot.
  16. Releasing a map publicly can be a very scary thing! Personally, I really like the atmosphere you've put together! My one critique for you: I do feel it's a bit "pointy." By that, I mean a lot of corners. Try experimenting with some curves! ^.^ I think your blue lamps create some lovely light, but have you considered perhaps swapping out the brushes for the Rift crystal lamp model? =D Keep going, share more!

The levelshot, I got in wallpaper size too! ^.^ The first is a prefab to be inserted into maps. This one opened up into a landing pad! This one contained a handful of similar rooms in alternating colours, which looks awesome!
