The textures weren't working right
That did it, thank you! Though there's a missing piece of his torso but I don't think that can be fixed with the .skin file
it either needs tweaking the weights or a "two side" shader.

Open the pk3 in packscape
go to modles\players\kylo_ren
copy model_default_tlj.skin file to your hardrive and open it
change the line
torso_cape_tlj,models/players/kylo_ren/cape.tga
to
torso_cape_tlj,*off
Save it as model_default_tlj2.skin
move it to the modles\players\kylo_ren inside packscape
go to ext_data\npcs
extract kylo_ren,npc to your hard drive and open it
copy the entire "Kylo_Ren" NPC section and past it below
rename the new NPC to Kylo_Ren_TLJ
add the line
customskin default_tlj2
Save it and move it back to its place inside packscape
Save the file in packscape
use
playermodel kylo_ren_tlj

Did you checked the first page? There is a link for all Jeff’s models there.Hi !
Could someone create new download links for some of this fantastic models ? Id love to play as Valkorion ,Exar Kun or Those Sith lords from Kotor II ( in Freedon's Tomb ) but all of the links are dead. If anyone have pk3 files please share them.

Thanks for the tip Punisher, I will look into the Customization Pack and see what I can come up with. I just recently returned to Jedi Academy since 2009 so I am a little rusty modding it; I'll find out how to Frankenstein something, I'm sure.
Do you or Jeff know if any decent models of the Solo children (Jacen, Jaina, Anakin) and Ben Skywalker exist? Most of what I've found for them are re-skins which are fine but not quite on the level of detail an actual model might bring.
Thanks again for everything fellas!
This is a great start.

Thanks to those tutorials, got this in about 15 minutes
As for the Solo kids, unfortunately, all I've seen are some skins which might have looked great back then, but we greater and better resolutions, they are starting to show their age.

Hello Jeff. Thank you for bringing all of these amazing models to Jedi Academy, I think I have doubled my number of characters with all of the different choices that you offer.
I am unsure how complicated this would be, or whether it is possible or if you're interested, but I was wondering if you could make a version of your Jedi Battlelord without the hood to accompany the current hooded version. I would like this for RP purposes.
I turned off the hood in the model's skin file to see if the model had it's head beneath it but, of course, most of the head is missing without the hood. So I figured I'd make the request to see if it's possible, If it's too much of a hassle or you are not interested for whatever reason, then it's cool. Just asking.
Thanks for the great content dude!
The head is pretty much intact, only the hair is missing. it could easily use some hair from another model, like Spanki's Jedi Customization Plus. Heck, you could even replace the head with Spanki's and use all the different skin and hair types.

Sorry I see this almost a year later. Hope you got to fix it, but PM me if you haven't.

Not sue why you guys are going in circles. Is easy, you just need to have the correct folder structure:
model\players\ModelName
You also need to have an icon file for each skin file.
In this case, you need
icon_default.jpg
icon_2.jpg
icon_gun.jpg
If you want single player menu support, then is a little bit more tricky but really easy once you understand how it works. In that case you will need at least 3 icon with 3 matching skin files for the default model and an additional pair of icon/skin file for any additional outfit.

Me too. My dad was with me. The lines were 2 blocks long. At the end of the movie, there were people cheering. I have never experienced a movie like that again.
Back then we didn't had much exposure to movies or even movie trailers so I didn't knew what the movie was about but they had R2D2 and C3PO in life size on the front of the theater and when my parents gave me a choice of a gift for great grades I choose them. So on a Saturday night my uncle was visiting from out of town and he took me with my cousin to watch it and I took R2 and 3PO with me and when we got out, even though I could barely speak because of the emotion, I was the envy of the kids that night.

i hit it, and now what?
You should be able to see all vertices including those hidden. Make sure all of them are weighted.
-
Sorry, got home late. When you swith to weight paint, it should be to the left of the button with a camera icon. Note: i am using Blender 2.72, some older versions of blender don’t seem to have it (or at least not were it should be).
-
yes, yes, and where do i check that because i don't see that option?
I am not at my computer but is on the bottom menu bar. Around 7 or 8 icons to the right of the dropdown where you select weight paint or edit mode.
-
When you switch to weight paint mode and click on the cranium (on the vertex groups), does the entire mesh turns red?yes, i did. i don't know what else to check. i did multiple things to see if it would allow me to export the model and no results
Is cranium all in lower case? When you weighted it, was the option to show non-issue vertices selected?

It means you haven't property setup you working folder structure and Blender can't find the default skeleton file in the _humanoid folder.
Check this:

Nope, I already know how to make team skins for the basic skins. I'm asking about skins that have rgb shader.
https://jkhub.org/topic/10010-adding-colour-customisation-to-a-skin/
-
Ah, thank you. Does this apply to the vanilla Jaden skins as well?
I guess, should be the same or at least similar issue (I don't play MP).
-
-
Most of those "duplicate slots" is caused because different versions of the same model. For example. the Starkiller Jedi Adventurer robe file includes 2 versions, one for SP with Custom Animations (that is the one that looks as if it walks faster in the menu selection) and one for MP with standard animations.
You can go to https://jkhub.org/files/file/2876-galen-marek-jedi-adventure-robes/?st=50#commentsStart and read all the messages for a full explanation.

This is a known issue. Hoth missions look for specific skin files. See https://jkhub.org/topic/10013-how-to-make-a-singleplayer-species-with-variants/, it explains how to fix it.

Exactly what @@Lancelot said.
It could be intimidating at first and for sure will be frustrating, but the best way is to determine a model or skin you want really bad and put all your efforts on that (forget about other models for the mean time).
When I started here, I saw the amazing work of people like Scerendo, Seven, Jeff, Kualan, dark_apprentic just to name a few and thought the same thing about myself. But I turned that intimidation on inspiration and gave a try and haven't stopped since.
Furthermore, I am a fan of certain character (now considered Legends). Although there are a few good models here, I felt those models were starting to show their age and wanted newer or improved versions. Unfortunately not too much people no was interested in this character so i thought I would have to settle with the old versions.
Again, I turned that into inspiration and started some kitbashes until I felt more confident and tried to Port some models with practically no knowledge, just studying other models). At times it was so frustrating I even quit and stopped playing JKA and went back to other games for a few months. Then came back with a fresh mind and ideas, and now have almost every version of that character to play with.
So, give it a chance, you might
- be better than you think
- learn a lot in the process
- have some fun
For sure won't be easy, but you will enjoy the satisfaction in the end.

The way they are posed makes it very hard., but you can still use their helmets and weapons with PreFXDesigns Praetorian Guard.
