  1. Definitely playing ESL TDM matches, but I'm not sure if I can pick a specific moment. Playing and winning cups was fun, epecially when playing with Vintage... @@Ping: It was similar for me when I played against Dureal. I had a 1:0 lead in both rounds but he managed to get back because I was too nervous and so it ended with a draw. Dureal is a master of comebacks because he plays like an unemotional robot.

    Interview: SiLink

I kinda agree with you but it's always nice having some new content.
  3. In Germany we had this topic ("killer-games", antisocial gamers) in the news like 5 years ago. Nowadays it's pretty quiet... probably until the next time someone is running amok and they find games like Counter-Strike on his computer.

    Interview: SiLink

Syko, 99% of the content on JKHub is about modding so what's the issue if there's one article about non-modding related stuff? I'm sure there will be a lot of modding related interviews again in the future.
  5. Checked about 15 "populated "servers. Not one player, only bots. Are there actually still people playing?

If you're looking for a simple base/OpenJK server, -[DE]- is a good choice. Though we've been on a small break lately, things will pick up again soon. If you add me on Steam I can let you know when we have a full server sometime if you're online. We FFA and have random TFFA's sometimes.

Yeah, it's pretty vacant. There's always a free server to find nowadays. Which is good for catching up with friends, but I found it's rare to find a random FFA duel cluster (for example) these days... You gotta be lucky...

EFF server occasionally has a full server ;) Check at the weekend and monday. According to our logs that's when most people get on :P

Well when we move to a different forum software, we'll probably move to a new wiki software as well. This is one reason I'm not too motivated to get it cleaned up myself. Also, it's very time consuming. Thanks for doing that though.

Well as long you're not going to delete all old pages by moving to a new software it's worth it I guess

Also remember to move all the uploaded files there too. It's important for pictures and whatnot!

  7. Yea all LucasArts rights/licenses/names/trademarks are now Disneys.
  8. I'm pretty sure LucasArts or at least Raven are aware of mods like Movie Battles II and so far they didn't care... it could change now with Disney but I doubt it (as long as you're not going to sell anything)
  9. To be fair, the story of Lavinia isn't that exiting at all
  10. In the end most mods use illegal material, including MBII, Movie Duels etc. But so far (for more than 12 years) no one ever cared about that
  11. Just wondering...is it possible to compile for 1.0 with the JKA sourcecode? I know people in the past modded 1.0 with hooks and reverse engineering etc
  12. Anyone knows some good graphic mods for System Shock 2?

and tell me please, how to use sweetfx

      I've used this preset: https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/1841/

      And this is sweetfx: http://www.mediafire.com/download/55w1kcn99k4nths/Swfx_Injector_20130601.zip

You have to put both into the folder with your ss2.exe. And you have to rename the preset to SweetFX_settings.txt. You probably should save the original settings.txt in case something goes wrong.

  13. I'm currently working on a mod that kinda does this, it isn't really hard to implement depending on how good it's supposed to look like.
  14. As I said before, I'm not sure what exactly fixed it But I deleted all .dlls in all folders and even opened the .pk3 files and deleted the .dll files in it. I also made a new command called "gametime" ( __TIME__ in the game xcvar_table) so I can be sure that my build is up to date.
  15. Thanks, it's actually working now. I'm not sure why though. I've deleted all dlls (even those in the pk3s and in the my games folder) but it still happened and after a couple hours I compiled everything once again and suddenly it was working.
  16. So I downloaded the latest version of openJK and tried to compile it (which is working) but ingame it's a bit weird. None of my code edits seem to be in the game except for the fact that it displays the name of my mod on the right side of the console. But gamename and gamedate is still "basejka" and "Nov 6 2003". Everything is compiled and in the right place...
  17. I could help you out with codihahaAHAHAHA. No but seriously, I'm doing sound and music if interested
  18. Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. But the exact same questions (and mostly the same answers) come up every few months. While back in 2006 the community in 1.01 was still really big, the 1.0 version also had a community of a couple hundred players (probably bigger than most people know). The size of the 1.01 community was actually a reason for many people to stay in 1.0. It's like a village against a big city. In 1.0 you saw the same people all day and everything was just more relaxed and less competitive (pretty much like on ja+ servers but without ja+). I guess many people (like me in the beginning) installed the game, started playing multiplayer, made friends and didn't really see a reason why they should update their game and leave their clans and their mates behind. I think playing in 1.0 nowadays is kinda pointless though as there are more servers than players. Again, that's just my opinion.
  19. Why do we have to answer this every time again? It's not because of the gameplay but because of the community. This was (at least for me) the reason to play in 1.0 for a couple of years (and because of the fact that you can play public ffa without ja+ or other mods)
  20. I'm pretty sure that I've read that BF won't have any SP at all. But that's good since the "campaign" in the previous games were pretty much like playing against bots on multiplayer maps (at least it felt like that).
  21. I might buy it but I can't really tell yet. The BF games were always a bit too casual for me
  22. I could accept it if the modders would get most of the money but if they really only get 25% it's a scam.
  23. That's more or less what I've meant. People like me always complained about JA+ for what it does to the saber combat (and I think that's for a reason) but most people accept it or maybe don't even recognize most of the changes. And it's obvious that competitive players care more about (even really small) changes to the gameplay than the average RP/Clan-players. You are right, some people complain just because it's not base which is stupid. Personally I don't care which mod is installed as long as the gameplay is the way I want it. But that's what I mean with "people don't really care".
  24. I really don't think that mods like japlus or openJK are that influential for the playing community because they don't really change the gameplay and share more or less the same community. OpenJK is important for being a base for comming mods and for fixing bugs etc but 90% of the players won't care if ja+, ja++, openJK or base is installed on the server as long as the gameplay doesn't change too much.
