  1. Actually, despite being more than 10 years old, the Quake 3 Arena engine is pretty beautiful :3

      Compared to today's standard, it really is. You're spot-on correct Xycaleth, but with regards to the time in which it was made, it's one of the MOST beautiful engines. I remember those times, JKA brought my computer on it's knees with the dynamic glow. I had to play without it, but with it, it looked stunning to me, I remember even the exact same feelings I had. This is what gave birth to my love for JKA and it's holding up even today.

      @Xycaleth: I'm not sure how to feel about that :P Thanks for the complement on the skybox though. It's a 2048x2048 texture :P What of wich i'm surprised that it works that well with this engine. Kinda the thing I mean with "beautiful" means both how it looked like back then, but more what it's capable of, even today. Base JKA shaders can even be used on trees to make them wave in the wind for example. It's standard in most games nowadays, but back then, you'd h...
