Circa Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 There are 7 unique styles for saber combat in Jedi Academy. All have pros and cons and some are only usable in single player. What's your favorite and why?
Stoiss Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Yellow for MB2, and Ja++ and BaseJa Red stance red was always the hard part to learn to use right with you own play style so there for my Fav Lumura likes this
Angel Soul Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Fast, Staff, and Dual style (for single blade). But my preference is Dual (two blades). Rooxon likes this
Ramikad Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I'm going to pick Medium. Though it may be not as effective as a well-used Strong, it's my favourite because it's the most immediate style.
The_CrY Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I love the Desann style. It has the damage of the strong style, yet moves much more flexible and slightly faster too. Angel Soul, Smoo and Rarufu like this
Barricade24 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I like the fast blue for units with guns and the red strong for saber wielders. Bek likes this
Circa Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 Red for MP, with some yellow occasionally. Yellow for SP, though I switch occasionally, depending on the situation.
Rooxon Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I'm an all-time dual wielding user. Proved a lot of times it's a dangerous style to fight against. Never liked staffs or single sabers, because there's a trick to this game. You can trade the damage and some defence-breaking moves, which pretty much everybody uses and in the same ways, for quick movement, jumping around and careful placement of counter moves (when the enemys move animation hits half of it's duration, that's the best moment to strike). If that doesn't work, an unexpected saber roll attack and badabboom. But I never use the kata move - it just leaves you open for a 1hitkill saber roll attack. Swiftness and long years of skill are my strong suits. Angel Soul likes this
Sidious8 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Doesn't really matter with me, I always go red.
Kahzmat Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Yellow for ForceMod III. Red Style for Base and JA+. Break the defense !
Xeby Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I prefer to use Starkiller's style (backhand) on all type of saber's (staff, dual, single) ! I forgot this style is not by default in Jedi Academy...
leadarc Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Staff for sure, Its quick and does loads of damage. I play passive with Reds, they can ruin my day if they land a thrid strike.
X1F2 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Desann (its the other red one right?) its good alternative to red. Is the green one Tavions? I like that one to but use the other more in single player.
DrXann Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I always like the Desann style since its basically a slower version of Tavion's style but does more damage and its one handed.I also like the Dual and Staff styles too. The_CrY likes this
Bacon Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Of course people will say Red/Strong. Mainly and this is just me with the many adventures of noticing it, the whole...Poking, Wiggling, yaw thing players do instead of just fighting normally. (No such thing as normally) BUT...that just me.I voted Duals.
Onysfx Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I use medium in SP always, but in base jka MP and japlus, I'm a staff user. Don't use red because everyone else uses it. That's really the only reason I don't use it xD.
Spirit Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Tavion all the way. Excellent speed, and even better range, damage output is very decent, and hardcoded bonus for parries and disarming enemies. And it's also graceful, it's quite similar to Form II. You get the speed of fast style with the damage of medium and the range of strong, with defense that surpasses even dual sabers'.

They always felt very overpowered. The basic ones give the enemy Jedi a fighting chance which drags out the fights, which IMO makes it alot more interesting.

Especialy with all the exploits (blade switching, ground butterfly etc). Scorpion likes this

Jolly Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Red style was really freaking awesome in Jedi Outcast, it just wrecked everyone left and right in MP and SP (even the bosses, especially Galak) though I found that later on I really enjoyed Medium because it was the Jack of all trades style.
