This thread was created prior to the Filefront Network being shut down. The purpose of this thread was for people who had no access to Filefront to ask for those files from other people who had access. Filefront irrationally chose to block all people from certain countries (Italy, Portugal, Netherlands, Russia, et al) from accessing their files website in 2008.

 

This is not a thread to ask for a re-mirror to JKHub. Remember the rules: You need to contact the original author to upload files unless explicitly stated in their readme.

 

Figured I might as well make a thread about this. Ask, and ye shall receive one fresh file from Filefront.

I thought the mods here (or at least Caelum) was taking the time to ask permission from many authors about rehosting files here? Or did that only happen for the absolute must-have files?

I think that reposting files or sending PMs to links of files is okay. Doesn't seem like there's any real issue there.

We're not going to host any mod formally on JKHub that an author didn't get approval for. However if the community wants to help each other access hard-to-find or hard-to-download files I certainly see no harm in that.

Yeah see, the issue is that not every Author can currently be contacted, and some of those files people would like to have but can't download.

So having a topic such as this for those is a wise idea. Because I don't think we'll be able to contact every Author out there.

Though I think all the discussion is probably starting to take away from the whole purpose of the topic? But that's just me

the only issue I have with putting mystuff on my filefront, is if its not downloaded X ammount of times within a week, the system auto purges it, ever since they were going to go offline, then were brought back. So I moved to Mediafire on that reguard, since it was needed for super smash bros brawl mods anyhoo >.> but if someone has a fix for the auto deletion thing, let me know, since when I upload id use both one as a primary and a mirror in case

Only if it's no trouble on your part. I can likely reskin the thing myself in a couple of weeks anyway when I return from Christmas in ruralshire and return to a computer which can actually handle basic programs like ModView and Photoshop

Okay, I've added the variants you wanted, included in the original skin so that I'm not trying to take any credit away from the original author

I've added team skins, jka-themed icons, and applied shaders to the clothing (i tend to do it with most reskins), so if you don't like it then remove the shaders folder from the .pk3

I have also fixed a texture seam on the back of the head, though you wouldn't notice it, and some .skin file edits. The repeated texture files have been removed to reduce the file size. 11 skins for under 5MB, not bad.
