As it's in a similar shape to that, so I guess people could recognise it from quake, but I like the most recent one you posted without the arial, looks good.

As I have no idea what it is meant to be currently, and it would make it more star wars-y, and still stay fairly true to the original.

Could perhaps vanilla one be available as a cvar, so people can have a pic of what they like? eg, r_dynamicglow 0 = no glow, 1 = vanilla, and 2 = rend2

Then bind a key to /minimize

OpenJK has /minimize and also supports alt tab on fullscreen :L

I would rather that was a toggleable cvar, as sometimes I play with a higher gamma so I can see more, but still like my screenshots in og brightness.
