The path of the Apprentice

^ I can't agree more. Also bear in mind guys, that even if you have the best skills to port an original asset from someone else into older game such as JKA, most modern games such as EA Battlefront 2015 and 2017 editions are very high poly models (by very I mean just a single eye can be up to 800 verts and the full head model about 12K verts). That's why I personally prefer lower quality / poly models with a great realism, such as those guys that develop the models for Force Arena (mobile game), yes they are mobile game characters and look how good they end up inside JKA with parts from other base JKA models. It doesn't mean that a high poly and detailed model can end up as good and bright in JKA as it looks inside the original game. That is why Ashura and Kualan are 100% right -

@@ChalklYne Yes indeed, you are right and I think I already mentioned on the small description before the images, that helmet is combining two parts – the front half is from SW Pinball Force Awakens model, while the back side (which was missing as the model is only with hood on) is from Lervish/Plasma personal Kylo Ren they created a while ago for MB2. Even, that I am not capable of to create something wonderful (even a piece of s***t) from scratch over Blender, I would still like on time to time to improve my personal knowledge with this software and of course there are many other people way more advanced simply because this is what they do all the time or it's their job (creating 3D models etc.) So yes I will spend time to polish it. @@AshuraDX I do agree with you on both the texture's work and the shader and at this stage, the textures are the original one without applying any specs or diffuse on them just wanted to quick test the model and capture him in game for better reference than inside ModView. The shader is completely wrong as of now I just wanted to use shader to fix the hair in game, but I've messed it up with different effect ending up with "shiny pig face". About the eyes I am also not that happy even when he close his eyes while moving his head, but the head overall is a Beta version from EA Battlefront 2 so I wouldn't expect much from unfinished mesh that was extracted into facepunch forums. I like the good and smooth effect on the texture you provided as quick test and hope I can reach at least this end result. -

I've decided to upgrade Kylo Ren from The Last Jedi using combinations as follow (credits to all respective authors//teams//developers): * main model is by Lervish and Plasma. * Re-textures done by me. * Cape is from Force Arena's Vader model * Helmet is combination from Pinball Force Awakens (Front) & Lervis/Plasma (back side). * The Punisher for providing Pinball's helmet. * Kylo Ren's head unmasked - EA Battlefront 2 Beta (facepunch forums don't remember who extracted the asset). ** Note, the head from EA BF-2 is very small and in fact I've had to resize it 5 time bigger than base JKA human male head in order to look a bit more normal compared to the body, however that caused some issues with facial animations as the bones are not matching exact spots of eyes/mouth. ** Helmet needs a little more tweaking as it's not perfectly polished now. -

Star Wars: Episode IX
dark_apprentice replied to dark_apprentice's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
So the time is passing and many things changed in the saga. What we know for sure is that now we have about 90 days left until Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi hits the theaters (15-December 2017) Of course the new topic that gets more light with the time is the following Episode IX. So far we don't have any clue about working or official titles, but one thing is 100% and that is that former Disney pickup for the writer/director post Colin Trevorrow is no longer considered for this matter, however after a couple of days speculating from the fans we finally got official confirmation from LucasFilm and Disney that Episode IX will have returning write/director in the face of J.J. Abrams (or as many would call him Jar Jar Abrams for good reasons). Now let us focus on something as I saw couple of opinions over YouTube from many fans and articles on the internet. * First fact is that for 1 full year, we had to see how LucasFilm / Disney fired 3 people from their directing positions. Two of them were in the not so expected still untitled anthology of Han Solo (coming around May 2018) and now with Episode 9 and pushing it's date for December 2019. * Perhaps the most likely scenario for all this as one youtuber mentioned, Disney/LucasFilm are very picky right now with the opportunity to continue the saga and not dealing with tons of angry fans, so maybe that is the reason they want to stick with someone who is with good name and reputation in the movie industry, but it's opening a new question for people like me: – Why J.J. Abrams for Episode IX and why not some one else, for sure we have a lot of good writers/directors to finish this saga or why not even the Maker himself - George Lucas to finish the 9-th movie even that he is officially "off" with the saga and doesn't want to be involved in the new sequel trilogy (personally I'd like to see Lucas taking on IX compared to J.J. Abrams even that both have a lot of negative feedback from fans). * Or simply LucasFilm is no longer what it once was for the saga and the fans around the world and people such as president of LucasFilm, Kathleen Kennedy want to avenge her father in her own way or just wanting to s***t off on the movies wherever and however she can. After all Disney provides the money, directors just follow their duties but K.Kennedy wants to "upgrade" the world of Lucas and s***t around. <--- Yes this is a rude way to see the perspective, but after all it's all about the certain point of view for the fans. What else do you think, is it really good to have J.J. Abrams back as writer & director for Episode IX or is it that bad at all would you prefer anyone else but him to write/direct the last movie. Why do you think so and how would you feel about the completely new story for Episode 9 that will be written by him, based on his carrier as writer/director so far from his very first movie ever made until the last movies he worked on including Episode 7? -

I believe, you should try to copy/paste the _humanoid folder inside of her pk3 file into your model's folder/pk.3 file in order to have them work, but am not sure about this. -
I am interested to learn what is the actual way of finding out what are the exact measurements for a particular part of an object, or the full object inside of Blender. As I have a good friend of mine who just started in the business of crafting custom build lightsabers and he is willing to use 3D printed parts, such as for the chassis that can be noticed on few more advanced lightsaber props, having the crystal inside of them. He already bought a 3D printer for this purpose and have plenty of models ready to be printed in both .STL and .OBJ files but before that (as he never did this before), he needs to know what are the exact measurements in MM or CM (not inches!) I tried searching couple of tutorials over YouTube and Bing to check for something useful, but so far I only managed to figure out how to show all of measurements for every single triangle of the object and it was hard to understand, as the numbers are covering each others. Any support / suggestions, experience or links for tutorials on this matter are welcome. Cheers

I've been considering to do this fan art finally as a alternate character for JKA, maybe from someone else EU of the SW universe. This is my personal interpretation based and inspired from a fan art, that I really liked. Head and robes are from Free Radical Battlefront, arms, legs, hands from HapSlash, hood, scarf and accessories from unknown authors from a russian 3D models website. -

I take it as a misunderstanding, I have also dealing with a person who was pretending to be me on ModDb where I also don't have account until nowadays and still don't think to make one. My point was clear, if there are contributors for one model, they should also ask for their permissions, (no matter if it's kitbash, frankenstein, full port, half port, made from scratch).
-
I'm talking about this. Because it's not the first time one of your team causing such misunderstandings. When I do remember not that long ago when you asked me on PM that you want to use my Rogue Vader model for your movie duels mod, so I am just asking did you manage to port it on your own? I don't know which one of you 3 guys are doing this, either you Tech Shaman or Darth Malgas, but most of the times you are making a big misunderstanding. For a fresh example I'll give you the situation couple of day ago, when Tech Shaman asked me for permission to use my first full port of GOH Ahsoka, I said it's ok as long as he ask one other member for his permission as well, since he was the one who helped me fix the weight issues so I can update the model and was also very kind to provide her with backhand animations and port her lightsaber as a usable weapon for Jedi Academy. Few days after his request I noticed, he wrote on Movie Battles 2 that all of the credit was mine (?) When I simply asked him in public over my own WIP thread why and to provide me with reasonable answer, he ignored it but after the other contributor of GOH Ahsoka mentioned the same over Movie Battles 2 forum, he finally changed the credits adding his user name too. I am not trying to charge anyone with guilt and what not I am not complaining about credits or ports, and I am not trying to act like a whiny little kiddo. But when there is a question for permission request and the author/member who is giving the request is asking you to contact the others that might have contributed in one way or another, I think it's good to ask them too. In this case I was searching over his topic to see if he changed the proper credits for Ahsoka, while I managed to see this from the screen shot below "Force Arena helmet by Tompa9". I hardly believe that you have ported it on your own, since I have provided you with the full ported helmet and mask for another mod "MovieDuels". And since this topic is going on for a long time in the outside of JKHub and seems like no one else is willing to take his steps and say the problem as it is, than I will do it and I don't really care if this will cause someone to ban me from JKHub. There is a big inconvenience going on here at JKHub for really long time and it is causing many great people (not only modelers) to avoid any requests or to release anything new. This is also causing a bit of "rust" effect on the forum, because it was a place of joy and creativeness of people managing to develop their ideas and fan passion into both Star Wars and JKA worlds. That is why many people are complaining for lack of credits or proper ones, leaving the community or don't really bother to share new material in here, that's why it has become more of a "port-o-model" community, because others that are trying to also bring new content and simply can't create or are not advanced with programs such as 3Ds Max, Maya and so on can't create a model from scratch. I personally don't mind and I am not against any kitbashes, full ports, frankensteins but even they are needed to have credits. I may not be the very bright example for this, but at least I am trying my best to get them when possible or at least I'm trying to give credit to the original authors/developers who provided us lately with tones of good new stuff such as the Galaxy of Heroes and Force Arena teams. At the end.... I may be wrong for all mentioned above and if so I am not the one to give the final judgment for myself, so I am not even going to be mad if anyone ban/block my account. If I am wrong, I would be glad to hear it. But if I am not, than I would like to see a brighter day for JKHub and JKA.

@@Tompa9 I didn't know you have ported the Force Arena Vader helmet on your own, since I was the one who provided you the ported head with my Rogue One/ANH Vader edition. I may not have account with MovieBattles2 forums, but I still can check what's going on there and got an eye for a long time on most of your work, that has lack of proper credits.

@ Can you please provide me with a reasonable explanation why you did not ask @@The Punisher for his permission for the GOH Ahsoka Rebels model? I just saw this: When you have kindly asked me via private message and I told you to ask him for his permission, because he helped me to fix some weight issues, he made the backhand scrip for her to work and he alone have provided the lightsaber mesh in a usable weapon with blade! Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to piss you off, to offend you and I am not trying to be an asshole I really don't care because everything I provide here is OK with me to use in mods and whatever you like. BUT don't forget to ASK other people who also contributed in a project for their permission otherwise I am getting all the credit and that will cause troubles. Screen shot of our conversation when you requested to use the model as a reminder, that I have advised you to ask him too -

@@Kualan Ahsoka from "Star Wars Rebels - Canceled game" from facepunch forums. As for now she looks "good" by just standing normal, the weights of her legs/knees, hips, arms and hands need some tweaks and fixes in order to work a bit proper and some tag fixes for her hands. Overall I personally dislike this model even that it's a full port, because somehow the shitty low quality version from the mobile "Galaxy of Heroes" seems much better to me. P.S. Such crappy models for me personally are even not worth to port or even kitbash with other models and still would prefer if I can see a Rebels era Ahsoka made from scratch from someone of the more experienced modelers in here. -

Version 2.0 is the final version I've made and the other one is with transparent wings which doesn't exist in the movie it was my mistake due to one of the earliest TFA teaser clips. If you are requesting new vehicles, I can't make vehicles but there is a good TIE Fighter First Order model from Star Wars Rivals mobile game but it's not officially released as a game.
