Damn that was really fast and amazing map as of the progress you made so far. Only hope, that we can end up having Snoke for the game too

*Out of topic* When your secret santa at work, turns out to be our own boss. She definitely knows me -
It's good for a mobile game yes, it is good that such mobile game have almost similar quality to the base JKA characters. But that is all..... Go look "Rivals" Tarkin vs. Force Arena (Rivals mobile game have better Tarkin), yet this doesn't mean that we do not need a new fresh model of him. Why [?] Because, we need to provide space to those of us, who really are capable to do it, because original assets will always be better when they are made entirely for the specific game (sure you can port it from whatever place you want, maybe even EA BF can release one too some time in near future that looks like a real one), but we now have advanced modeling programs and artists over here. Personally, I would stand behind everyone who is willing to make Peter Cushing's Tarkin for Jedi Academy from scratch, because this actor deserve it the most.

The issue with the Vader cape, that I ported from Force Arena, was back at the time I released Vader (Rogue One / ANH era), I wasn't very familiar with the weight process. Go check my x-mas pack with TLJ Kylo Ren (uses same cape), already weighted so you can use it if you can't weight it on your own. Still it is not 100% perfect in game, but that's just because you need better physical moving in the JKA engine, which Q3 engine can't provide... You can either make new cape for him from scratch or just make new animations for Vader (that's about time, he moves too fast in JKA I'd to see him with similar to TFU animations and Rogue One "attacks" on "slow mo" if we can say so).

It's using head from Force Arena, mobile game. We need one entirely made for Jka

Some useful reference, I'd like to see this model finally in Jedi Academy:

BATTLEFRONT MODELS TO JKA? :D
dark_apprentice replied to GPChannel's topic in Mod Requests & Suggestions
I think he means, that they are just "fat" sleeves instead of skinny sleeves going right over the arm structure, like part of the arm skin and not just like a jacket. Check the EA Battlefront 2017 TFA / TLJ Kylo Ren for reference or the Hot Toys action figures. -
BATTLEFRONT MODELS TO JKA? :D
dark_apprentice replied to GPChannel's topic in Mod Requests & Suggestions
My personal point of view is, that you should try it on your own. Believe me from my small experience so far.... the Battlefront 2017 game contains so much high poly models, that JKA can't handle them even with OpenJK and whatever else there might be for those needs. Keep in mind for example the Beta version of Kylo Ren's head from TLJ (only the head) was somewhere about 13K (yes, 13,000 verts) the required amount for JKA is less than 1000 (to be specific less than 900 for one single mesh object in order to run smooth in the game, without any issues). Also you might consider to listen the advise of more experienced modelers here, like Ashura when he saw the Kylo Ren head and showed me how the textures can be improved, because the original textures 'as extracted from the game' do n-o-t look that HD and that good on JKA even with correct shader files. In the end: You may spend billion hours of porting one full model or even just his head, but you won't end up having that great result at all. I know it's very hard to at least give it a try and make something own from scratch, but hey... if you have patience other people in here like Ashura or Scerendo can make amazeballs new age models for JKA (speaking about the Version 2 updates of his Finn, Poe, Rey models) those are new approaches of modeling for JKA made from scratch and yet look way more better than what we had in 2003 - 2007 with older JKA models or even vanila models. Even I can't fight myself enough to get and learn something useful, but as Corto advised they can be at least a good reference when you build your own stuff I am not anti ports or anti something, just looking and what those and other people are capable of creating this days, can really inspire you and all it takes is to spend your time, make it even when it looks very hard and may get you down wanting to give up on it, but it's all up to you. I bet that all of them started from way uglier scratch made "frankensteins" until they progressed in their own skills causing them to produce today much better content. Better go pay something like 60 USD and play the game on PC or PS4 / Xbox -
The path of the Apprentice

Here is my small gift as some of you have wished for quite a long time now. X-Mas (2017) small pack. Please bear in mind to read the credits&permissions file, before you proceed to extract or use the models inside. Also, don't forget those models are as they were released over the time in here on screenshots, as I didn't managed to complete/finish/fix some of their tweaks/bugs or even add additional custom sounds to others. Happy Holidays to all and happy Yule! http://www.mediafire.com/file/q6a6a9l7n1ohzva/_Dark_Apprentice.zip -

MAP - Vengeance on Kothlis (Request)
dark_apprentice replied to dark_apprentice's topic in Mod Requests & Suggestions
I really feel the pressure and amount of work that needs to be done, before you can proceed any further with this map project. But I am not going to hide, that something is pushing me inside out and I would like to assist you with something even little, but to support your work sadly I don't know what or where to start from. I recently started to work a bit more on sound tracks as I am waiting for our singer to finish the final vocals on my debut album. I am really looking forward as a challenge to give it a try on something more SW style, but is that going to be enough for helping you? -
The Force Awakens Conversion Mod for SP
dark_apprentice replied to GPChannel's topic in WIPs, Teasers & Releases
Actually his face is already rigged and is capable to move his mouth / eyes, when moving or speaking, but since the lips are "glued" you can't see it as clean as a regular model made from scratch. -

Revisiting the childhood [Dolphin]
dark_apprentice replied to dark_apprentice's topic in Art, Media & Technology
I've found this topic a while ago, might be helpful for your audio issues on Dolphin and might work with that sound patch Also this one helped me to improve a lot my gaming performance on the emulator, but some suggest to disable the dual core (tried it couple of times, can't really say on 100% that it works but might be a way to try on your own): https://www.reddit.com/r/DolphinEmulator/comments/3qyqkc/how_to_get_star_wars_rogue_squadron_to_work/ -
Revisiting the childhood [Dolphin]
dark_apprentice replied to dark_apprentice's topic in Art, Media & Technology
Yes, when I was playing it at 30 FPS on 30-40 VPS it was total s**t, but after I managed to find the golden spot for most mission on the emulator's overclocking it was fixed. However bear in mind, that this is very personal from a PC to a PC (laptop) and some suggest over the dolphin's forums to entirely turn off the sound settings (specially for Rogue Squadron 3) in order to play it smooth. Overall this old game will require a lot of modern high end PC/Laptops to play it, only because of the emulator acting as a real game cube, that's all (maybe also the higher resolutions of the textures on HD pack, but not sure how much this is affecting the overall gaming). @@Langerd On the other hand here are all textures that I got from the HD Textures pack for both RS 2 and 3 (Rogue Leader & Rebel Strike), original files are in DDS, so if to use them open with Noesis or Photoshop/Gimp. ** GSWP64 = Rogue Leader (Rogue Squadron 2) ** GLRP64 = Rebel Strike (Rogue Squadron 3) Download > http://www.mediafire.com/file/v3osx6x3fu6ts9v/Bespin_Textures.zip -
1969 Buick Electra (Rogue Squadron easter-egg)
dark_apprentice replied to Lancelot's topic in Mod Requests & Suggestions
Actually it stands just right next to the A-Wings in Rogue Squadron 2 "Rogue Leader", I'd love to see this car, but that will unleash my desire of seeing a wartburg 1.3 / 353 :D for the game lol. About the sky boxes i guess yes i will try to check late evening after work -
Revisiting the childhood [Dolphin]

Honestly I'd buy myself a gamecube and TV only for this purpose and play the game not sure if the HD textures can work outside of Dolphin, but if they do will be great. -
As some of you may already know, I am recently playing my most favorite (beside Jedi Knight series) games, Rogue Squadron Trilogy: Squadron 3D, Rogue Leader, Rebel Strike – but since I never owned Nintendo GameCube, after couple of tweaks on the emulator's settings, graphics, overclocking of the emulator (it doesn't affect the computer as you don't overclock it, but just the emulator) both games that follow the original PC Game of "Rogue Squadron 3D" are running smooth and even, managed to find over the dolphin forums some decent HD textures pack, that make the games very good even that, they are old. Possible options, if you have of course the chance to do so, you can even make Dolphin to run and sample the textures inside of the game on a 4K or even 5K resolution as it suggests (personally I can't reach that result, as am not having that great PC for gaming, but I know many people already can afford to do so). Every PC/Laptop with less than Intel Core i3 to i7 won't be able to run the game, still much better if you have 8 or more GB of RAM and processor with higher amount than 2.00 GHz (that still works, but not that smooth unless if you overclock the emulator). I am adding the album from Imgur that I made to share what I am enjoying now even that it's not on it's highest settings/graphics, because if I have to admit... if there is any way to remaster those two games "Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader" and "Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike" and add some futures from Jedi Academy, we will have an amazing game, that is way before EA Battlefront (2015 and 2017) the original 2004 / 2005 Battlefront-s or even JKA's Movie Battles 2 Reference of Rebel Strike (the 3-rd chapter of Rogue Squadron trilogy) Full Album below https://imgur.com/a/NNIga

Is possible convert this Phase 1 clone helmet?
dark_apprentice replied to Javitolo98's topic in Mod Requests & Suggestions
I believe that his attempt on that trooper is way better than the model you mentioned as reference, I don't stand behind him but personally I don't like the one you mentioned and find the one he made (including the helmet) to be very modern and high detailed even the fact, that it's for an old game like JKA and not based on a new engine such as those of EA Battlefront. I'd suggest you if you want any improvements just to ask Ashura if and when he have the time to do them and release updated version or a separate version [?] Anyway just my opinion, not needed to agree with me or to bear in mind what I am saying. -
