  1. Brain-worm infested creeps! Two thumb up!
  2. Can't wait for the next issue.
  3. Warning: Do NOT watch this video if you were perfectly happy with TFA, and wish to keep hyped about the new Star Wars sequels! It is a major spoiler for the fun factor!!! Seriously, for your own good, don't. I like to be always perfectly honest with myself, and this video review echoes much of my (harshly) critical view of the new film, as well. I did not like the prequel trilogy films, but I do believe they carry more value than the new film. The new film is awesome fun? Sure, I guess. (I did enjoy watching it in a way.) Any lasting, original Star Wars content? Mmm... seriously arguable...
  4. If I try to make something scary, it'll end up being cute, so I think I'll try to stay clear of this one. XD But will enjoy being spooked by the stuff that pops up. Will we have a server event to celebrate/showcase all the mods created?
  5. Well, as a last resort, the game has been up for grabs for about $10 on GOG: https://www.gog.com/game/beyond_good_and_evil (And you'll be supporting both GOG and the making of the new game that way -- and help put an end to the Steam/corporate DRM reign.)
  6. I will have a look at editing and scripting in the ambience sounds when the time comes. I've found a new, powerful (and open source) editor that lets me edit audio and video material easily, and I'm in the process of learning it at the moment. P.S. I like "cor1" -- sounds fitting as a background track.
  7. Actually, I'll have to contest that one. I've configured my gamepad to have the left joystick strafe and move forward and backward, and the right joystick for aim/turn in JA. Can do it all. The only thing is it feels different, and turning with a joystick is always slower than turning with a mouse -- and let's face it, JA requires split-second turning in a duel. But if everyone was forced to play with a gamepad, I think dueling in the game would actually be a better experience overall (more movie-like, and less crazy with the custom turning/sensitivity settings). As for SP, there are no problems playing JA with a gamepad. It actually feels a little better, depending on what you like, of course.
  8. In that case we should join efforts. There's no sense in doing this project twice (unless there are considerable structural/design differences).
  9. Best cosmetic mod for JA since the beginning of time. Two thumbs up -- would give you five if I had five limbs.
  10. Pretty sure it's still relevant. There's no reason they would willingly choose to do double the work. It still looks like top gaming material to this day.
  11. Any progress on this is welcome progress for me. Just keep me in the loop (so when I get around to working on this, we're not doing useless double-work).
  12. Incidentally, just started playing this game for the first time. Liking it so far. Screenshot from the new game in dev.: And gameplay footage:
  13. Thanks @@Ramikad. It seems "npc spawn <npcname> <targetname>" is the longest line we can have from the "npc spawn" command/feature. Everything else is defined in the NPC files themselves (their behaviour, items, etc.).
  14. What parameters does the "npc spawn" console command take other than "vehicle", the name of the NPC/vehicle, and a targetname for the spawned NPC (to kill them with later)? Any takers?
  15. Didn't know you could do that with a wireless Xbox 360 controller, but if you can, that's pretty much the same thing, yeah. (I've kind of grown attached to my lil' PC gamepad.)
  16. With OpenJK in Windows (8.1), if you set it to a higher resolution (your laptop screen's native res.), the game will scale down to 720p or 1080p automatically (if you plug in the HDMI before starting the game) without changing any of your custom settings, which I found really nifty! (Just make sure you don't close your laptop's lid completely, as then things go haywire res-wise.) As for the gamepad, I can highly recommend the Logitech F710 from my own experience: (Though keep in mind that JA was not really designed for gamepad-based control, so your overall skill-based performance/accuracy/mobility may vary from what you are used to with the keyboard & mouse. ) For reference, a 1080p TV has 1920x1080 pixels as its res., while a 720p TV has 1280x720. Your maximum res. depends on what 1) your TV supports as maximum, and 2) your graphics card supports. Most of today's graphics cards can easily display over 1080p though.
  17. Jedi Knight Enhanced: https://jkhub.org/forum/106-jedi-knight-enhanced/ It's on the forums.
  18. My suggestions for improvement would be: 1. No invisible walls! -- the training area is barred off by an invisible wall at the moment. If it's inaccessible/unfinished, put some physical obstacle (like heavy crates) in the way to let us know we cannot go there. (I hope you plan to add the outside training area as well at some point, though.) 2. Landcape please! -- give us a nice, inspiring Yavin IV landscape to look at when staring out the windows of the academy. (At the moment it's depressingly barren.) Perhaps on a sunny jungle day? 3. A brighter living -- more light indoors. I know this is a weak-point of JKA, but I'm sure there's a way to make the inside of the temple a little brighter and more welcoming (as opposed to dark and damp).
  19. Disney/EA took inspiration in large part from my (and Cadellin's) design for that model: https://jkhub.org/files/file/2411-ahsoka-tano/ Their work seems to be a blend of my/our design with the original, cartoon design of Ahsoka. The GoH model itself would very likely be too low-definition to look good ported to Jedi Academy, not to mention that that would be something that could be done only for private use (and not allowed to be shared, legally), as we don't have Disney/EA's permission to port their work.
  20. Okay-okay, I think we got the point across. We're all big fans of SJC's work. Now let's let the man work, and stop acting like fan-girls at a concert. ("OMG it's SJC!!!" *squeals, then passes out*)
  21. 'Been waiting for this for long -- for someone to make a story-accurate, comprehensive, and detailed map of Luke's Jedi Academy, incorporating all that we know of its design and spaces. And you've added some wonderful, lively decorations/extras. Kudos MagSul. Brilliant work.
  22. You were saying?

I see great talent. Awesome job, from concept to finish! *thumbs up*
  24. Just something whipped up on the fly in JKA - a cinematic wallpaper: Hi-res download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8vax2t85yria61m/Ahsoka.png?dl=0
