Holocron as Detonator, Mine, or Saber?
Circa replied to ZanderNao's topic in Mod Requests & Suggestions
Could make two versions, one as an NPC and one as a saber. Would probably be really simple to do in Blender too. If it's just a cube holocron, could just make a cube. I think the Sith holocrons are generally pyramids, which would be just as easy. Could even give them a cool looking shader to glow or give off some kind of pulsing illumination. -
How are you playing it in-game then? o.0 I have this tiling issue too though. There's no way I'm going to recreate all my brushes though. I've tried everything I can think of to solve it without doing that though...

Look in his readme. It's there. I also believe @@DT85 handles some of Toshi's permission requests for him, since Toshi hasn't been around for many years now. Could be wrong though. If so, sorry DT. Not sure. What have you done so far? Right now the hands don't match the face's skin color. That could be an easy fix.

This thread is from February anyway. He'll update it when he has an update. Otherwise we can assume he's spending his time doing better things.

Welcome! Some of those mods look really cool. Did you make them?
-
Give credit to Toshi and make sure you state what parts are ported and from where. I recommend contributing more than just slapping models together too, but that's just my opinion.

The JKCommunity Discord isn't JKHub affiliated, technically. I'm not an admin there. Also, IRC is ugly and like you said, not even used.

It definitely has it's benefits for the reasons Lazarus mentioned ^ Its also a good way to get to know people better around the community, in some ways. But people have to remember that this is JKA we're talking about, and trolls are bound to be around. The atmosphere can sometimes mirror that of a JKA server.

Development screenshots: cool things that are being worked on

Could have something like the GTN on SWTOR that lets you sell items to other players. Can filter by certain categories or search for specific item names. -
Development screenshots: cool things that are being worked on

Well that's how it works in the Elder Scrolls games and Fallout games. If you're limiting the amount a vendor can buy items from you, it's nice to see how much they have so you know how much you can sell to them. -
Not without code changes, or scripting it.

Star Wars - Galaxy in Turmoil
Circa replied to CommanderXeph's topic in Star Wars Franchise Discussions
Like I said, saw it coming. It's silly that they'd think it would happen. EA has every right to decline and shut it down. That's the whole point of their contract. If LF started letting other studios make SW games, they'd probably take LF to court for dishonoring their contract. And declining to license their studio is understandable. A publisher like EA can't just be like "oh alright" and suddenly have this random indie studio under their umbrella. Even if they brought them in, it would take awhile to make it legit, not to mention extremely expensive. People are mad about a fan made game getting shut down, which is fine, but nobody should be too surprised about it all. It was inevitable. -
He's probably talking about SP, because MP already is pretty quick with the off and on. JKE *should* already do this, or at least redsaurus started to implement it. He also added a cvar to toggle the twirly animation if the user wanted, to make it more like MP.
-
Well then yes, and feature you take advantage of in your map will need to include the code portion of the mod. Also keep in mind that the mod is still in alpha stages, and in the future will not just be a code mod. JKE will include much more than just those code changes. Unless redsaurus plans on keeping it separate.
-
Uh. I guess that depends on what you're creating. If you're making something that requires JKE/OpenJK to run, then yes. Those would probably only be a few things, like a large number of NPCs, or huge textures, etc. Are you making maps for the project? Or just to run for yourself?

Use OpenJK if you want to raise the NPC limit. https://jkhub.org/topic/2220-frequently-asked-questions/

Winning rate of lightsaber duel in JKA and JK2
Circa replied to syainkn's topic in Jedi Knight General Discussions
Probably not. MP can take a long time of practicing to be good at, against real players. If you mean against bots, then sure. Bots are easy. -
Wow. That's intricate modding work right there!
