  1. That's not up to me, and besides, you would have to prove you can actually do the role before getting it. A lot of this can be done without being a staff member.
  2. That's what I've been asking for we need the right people for the job to step forward and take on this role, nobody in our staff as far as I'm aware knows the competitive community well enough so we'd gladly look elsewhere for help.
  3. Hmm, perhaps you/others could give me a list of people to contact with whom you might find interesting to interview? My knowledge of the competitive side of the game is very small, even the questions would have to come from elsewhere as I would be arrogant to think I know the community/person well enough. This is why I'm asking for others to step forward and take on this role, I would do this if nobody else volunteers but it would be better off with someone experienced in this field.

  6. o_o me either. Yours already looks better even unskinned
  7. *wave* If you're submitting Tutorials, then all you need to do is go to the Tutorials section and make a new one in the appropriate section if it is video based (Like your current tutorial) then we usually request permission from you to host it on the JediKnightHub youtube account. If you're okay with this, then we'll edit the tutorial you submit with the replacement video and approve the tutorial.
  8. I think one step at a time is the best approach, would you be willing to help get demos, interviews, movies and so on as part of JKHub?
  9. Already covered that with Admin commands/cvars
  10. It's not skinned yet Really impressive, I can't wait to see the final product
  11. Out of curiosity, if we purchased IP.Gallery and had an area for competitive matches, would that be well received? @ @@Ping E.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dprV8xkzUgQ (Which ironically features Afinity XD) This was @@Circa's idea
  12. It is unwise to not take these things seriously and to cover yourself and your users regardless of how tiny the potential for trouble. First draft of the new file submission policy is in the staff area for review

Perhaps we could have something made?
  14. I don't think there will be a poll if all the staff ends up agreeing. Sorry about the confusion over that earlier.
  15. You can edit your posts you know I've merged them for you so it's just one.
  16. This is really great, the most popular HUD's out there are of simplistic design (My favourite approach to anything arty ) Can't wait to see the final product!
  17. I only noticed it recently myself (On JAWA we use the same forum software) it's really not that obvious if you skim text like I do.
  18. I believe I fixed it, @@Xycaleth, can you verify? Also made the quotes look slightly better.
  19. You mean in notifications? If so, there are two links in a notification (One to the thread itself and one to the actual quoted post)
  20. But we can only hire someone if they show interest, our lack of experience in this field means that we can't simply just go out and look for someone or make content to bring them in, we'd do a very poor job at it for the reason I just said. It's a bit of a vicious cycle, and I've so far heard a lot of solutions but no way of showing how we'd go about executing them logically. I myself would love to get more competitive players here and to have staff dedicated to that, I made it a priority back when I was a staff a year and a half ago but there just didn't seem to be much interest (Which I agree, we must generate, but it goes back in circles again). I must say though that @ did help a lot if I remember correctly, but it required/requires now someone dedicated to that position who can supply a constant stream of content to bring in more people.

I've never been a fan of anti-aliasing, I always turn it off in games I play which allow it
  22. Easier said than done, we advertise for staff positions and (As far as I know, I could be wrong) we rarely get any applications from those who are more fans of the competitive side of the game. I wouldn't even know where to advertise such positions in order to get the right people. We have quite a few competitive players here who make comments about the lack of competitive content, so I ask... why aren't they either making it, putting people forward or even advertising their regular events here? There is only so much we can do. That is why I suggested that we provide a tutorial with the contest, so that everyone has a fair chance to enter regardless of experience in the field that contest is in.
  23. Aye, and we'd be smart to protect ourselves and our users appropriately in the unlikely event that it does happen. It is annoying, and copyright in general is unbelievably flawed, but that's just the way it is (dududududu... )
  24. I do fully agree with you/Ping, but that is not something we can easily fix. It's up to the competitive community to step forward and contribute the content. I've seen a lot of good stuff about competitive play on the wiki (Some a bit biased, but the vast majority is really amazing stuff) but we lack the experience as a staff to deliver this content, and if we tried then it would be done poorly... The tools are there to get things rolling, we just need the right people to step forward and use them.
