  1. A new feature on the SWBF website allows you to explore the environments of the game: http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/planets And for those experiencing lag, here's all the cinematics and gameplay clips from the tour:
  2. Whenever I try to play Evolution of Combat III (this version specifically), it crashes with a "jamp.exe has encountered a problem blah blah blah" error within 5 minutes of starting any kind of match. I have not added any custom skins/maps or modified it in any way. I've tried various different game modes with and without bots. Any idea what the problem is?
  3. The site was down for me yesterday. Did anyone else have that problem.

  4. That's already been posted. I do however, agree that the ultimate edition is kinda dumb. I'd rather see what the expansions are before buying them. Though I should note that we have absolutely no idea how much content is in each pack. I'd expect to see more than just an additional planet per pack being ~$12.50 each. At least I hope. Though I did get the deluxe edition PS4 bundle, but that's just so I could get the extra games it comes with and the Darth Vader console. I don't really care much about the in-game bonuses since i'd be able to unlock the items anyway, and I don't really see me using emotes that much.
  5. I apologize that I do not have the time to sit through 20 minutes of video or everything you wrote, but believe it or not, I have a life outside of gaming. However I did watch (or rather, listen to) the first few minutes of the video in question, and noticed he was talking about steam specifically. And while I understand the concerns, A) Origin games can be refunded. B) So can disk copies. As I previously mentioned, I am getting the game on the PS4, meaning will I have a physical copy of the game, and if I don't like it and I can't get a refund for some reason, I can sell it. For this very reason, I rarely buy games digitally, with the exception of MMOs. I should also mention that my pre-order comes with the PS4 in question, and three other games I've already played and like (Jedi Starfighter, Bounty Hunter and Racer Revenge) which I think is enough to make up for it if I don't end up liking SWBF. And while there ARE bugs (which I never noticed), I don't care about them. In fact, some bugs make the game MORE fun IMO. If there are any other problems about pre-ordering he mentioned, please tell me in text, because I have much better things to do than watch all of that.
  6. @@MaceMadunusus You're acting like it's a scientific fact that the game is bad. However, different people care about different aspects of the game. There is no way you can truly call any piece of media "bad". It's all personal preference. And what difference does it make whether you pre-order the game or buy it when it comes out. You still end up paying the same amount of money either way, and if you don't like it, you can still sell it or return it.
  7. I'm not an economist, jeez. Anyways, the only thing we've accomplished from this is pissing each other off. So lets be done.
  8. I disagree that it is only a $30 value, but this has become pointless. Neither of us are changing our opinions, so we might as well end this conversation.
  9. Know of any good servers for JKO/JKA that allow guns?

      Syko

Very few ones allow guns, I don't even know why. I'd rather play a regular gun match than some JA+ BS like 99% of the servers.

  10. @@MaceMadunusus Nothing is perfect. I could come up with a list of problems just about as large for the previous Battlefront games, the Jedi Knight Games and even Movie Battles. The the majority of your complaints involve the GUI and PC-specific issues. I'm getting the game on the PS4. The remaining complaints are either personal preference or things that just don't matter to me. It's not that i'm a sucker for Star Wars products (though I must admit I kinda am one), it's that I try to focus on the good in things. There are quite a few things I don't like about the game, and you mentioned a lot of them. But I won't let that ruin it for me. I don't worry about gameplay or balance or accuracy. I just want to have fun playing the game. If you don't like it, that's fine. Just stop insulting me for liking it.
  11. The game didn't feel anywhere near as half-assed is you claim it to be. In fact, the only game I can think of that is as polished as that is Knights of the Old Republic. I'm not entirely sure what you people are complaining about, but whatever it is, it's obviously something too insignificant for me to notice or care about. Sure, it's not a carbon-copy of the previous battlefront games, but I never wanted it to be. If you don't like the gameplay, I can respect that, but I wouldn't call the gameplay incomplete. As for the amount of content, if it had everything people wanted in it at launch, it would have to come out years from now. And from what I know about the game, there's enough content to keep me interested. I don't need 20+ maps. Now the lack of a server browser is a complaint for me, but i'll work around it. To me this game seems like it's worth that $70, and I think you guys are just nitpicking. As for pre-ordering, I see no problem with doing so once you know enough about the product, and I know a lot about the product.
  12. First off, I never played Battlefield. Secondly, I played the beta and I enjoyed it quite a lot. There was more than enough quality for me to pre-order; But quite obviously "quality" when it comes to video games is extremely subjective. Thirdly, I don't give a damn about EA's profits. They are a corporation, they're supposed to make profit, and if people enjoy their product (which I certainly do), then I say they deserve that profit.
  13. Doesn't matter though, I prefer quality over quantity.
  14. Who says the Beta has everything in the game?
  15. We don't know how many features it has. For one thing, we still don't know how many single-player missions there are, or how many customization options there are.
  16. Probably because most people either A) Are too busy with other projects and/or real life, B) Haven't watched and/or aren't interested in the shows in question, C) Prefer doing skins related to Star Wars or D) Some combination thereof.
  17. I'm just gonna pick and choose what DLC I want and buy them individually.
  18. I managed to play some of the beta yesterday on the PS4 and my mind was blown! The graphics, needless to say were absolutely incredible, as well as the sound. It was also incredibly smooth, smoother than any other game I've played ever, I didn't experience even the slightest bit of lag, even in multiplayer. It truly felt lifelike and immersive, like I was really in the Star Wars universe. The controls were easy and felt pretty natural, very similar to the old games. Now for the gameplay. Overall I found it to be easy enough to be fun, and challenging enough to keep me playing without getting bored. It's a nice balance. At a glance, the gameplay seems very simple, but the customization with star cards (secondary weapons/items) and power-ups add quite a bit of depth to it. You really have to think about what star cards to equip and when to use them, and there's quite a variety of star cards available in the beta, ranging from grenades and rockets to sniper rifles to jetpacks. All with their strengths and weaknesses. Most star cards have unlimited uses and have a cooldown effect. Others, however, have a limited number of uses, and have to be replenished using special powerups called charges. This indeed add another extra bit of challenge to the game. There are three levels you can play in the beta, I got to play all of them: Survival Mode on Tatooine: In this mode, you are a lone rebel soldier who must survive against waves of imperials. I played this on easy mode (This was the first mode I played). It's pretty much exactly what you saw in the E3 gameplay. Even in easy mode it was pretty challenging. The enemies are easy to take down, but they can overwealm you pretty quickly. In this mode I was given pre-made loadouts I star cards to use. In my best match of this I got 37 kills and survived 5 out of 6 waves (there are probably more waves at higher difficulty levels). Walker Assault on Hoth: This was definitely the most fun and epic out of the three. In this mode the Rebels must secure uplink stations in order to sens in a bombing run to disable the shields of the AT-ATs, rendering them vulnerable. The Empire must prevent the rebels from doing so and defend the AT-ATs. The Rebels win if the AT-ATs are destroyed. The Empire wins if they are intact after the time limit. I got to play this as both sides. I didn't really get to try the vehicles much, but I did get to fly a TIE fighter around a bit. The controls and handling are identical to the original games. I unfortunately did not get to try out the heroes. But just the infantry combat alone was really fun. Drop Zone on Sullust: This was the most fast-paced out of all the modes. In this mode each team has to capture escape pods as they fall. The first team to get five wins. Needless to say, you needed to stay on the move. Very fun.
  19. I'm pretty sure there's one out there somewhere...
  20. Awesome. Now people can stop whining about how it's gonna be like any other EA game.
  21. Not according to the reports I read from Alpha players. They all say it's quite different from Battlefield.
