  1. I really like the style of the whole map and what has been improved. Instead of just using the whole unfinished map as is, you just took the chance to enhance it and make it look like an actual part of the game. I'm really looking foward to the release. In my opinion, this map looks like something where a lightsaber would be out of place. I mean, this map has the potential to be something challenging, something where you don't have to rely on lightsabers or the force to get through. Too bad Jedi Outcast has no stealth elements, because they would definitely fit into that kind of map.
  2. @Dusty Okay, it finally works now. I just installed Visual C++ 2013.
  3. @@Plasma I've actually worked on Rey's staff until a few months ago, but I didn't finish it. I considered to pass on this project or at least to release the source model (without textures and stuff). https://jkhub.org/topic/6789-reys-staff-work-in-progress/?hl=%2Brey%26%2339%3Bs+%2Bstaff
  4. I have the same problem. I even installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2012, but it didn't work. And even some googling didn't work either, as every result led me to either some fishy websites (where you allegedly can download that .dll) or to forums where nobody knows any solution.
  5. You might ask why I'm posting a video of LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens here. Simple answer: It has one of the greatest flight controls I've ever experienced in a game (and I must admit that the control is better than in Battlefront). The control is responsive, fluent and so satisfying that you can't complain at all. And the dynamic camera is just great. If there's a way to make something similar in Jedi Academy, that would be awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98-7LD91X-A
  6. Finally a proper Han Solo model. This is the Han Solo this game actually needed. I don't care if it's ported or not, it looks awesome and way better than the inferior JK2 one.
  7. @@Langerd But seriously, this is a great model.
  8. Any idea how to help Fire Phoenix, @@redsaurus?
  9. @ I was thinking about something like Star Wars Legacies or Legends of a Galaxy. The second one was inspired by some scenes from The Force Awakens, especially when Rey and Finn met Han Solo for the first time. Finn: Han Solo, the Rebellion general? Rey: No, the smuggler. You know, right after Return of the Jedi, every story before and around that time turned into something that can be considered as campfire stories, spread into every corner of the Star Wars galaxy. Everyone would tell those legends and myths about three heroes called Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo, and there were two factions called the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion. In short: This mod gives you the opportunity to relieve those moments that actually happened in the Star Wars films, with all the characters who experienced them. But enough off-topic. Here's something different I wanted to say: Does anyone remember the KotF demo where you can play as either Obi-Wan Kenobi or Jango Fett on Kamino? There was an interesting feature that I've never seen in any other mod before and after that. When you play as Jango Fett, you can also take control of about five Clonetroopers. When you scrolled up or down with your mouse wheel, you could switch directly between those Clonetroopers. The camera moved seamlessly to another Clonetrooper and you could control him instantly. It would be cool to have that feature in other maps of the singleplayer mode.
  10. For the new title, I think that we need a poll for that some time later. But we need to collect some ideas first. My suggestion is to choose something that doesn't resemble Knights of the Force at all. We need something catchy, something that says "This is a Star Wars mod!" Unfortunately, many good titles have been already used for other mods, such as Star Wars Chronicles.
  11. I must admit that I'm surprised by what you did. And not only that, I'm impressed. You did the right thing by starting this topic. Okay, it's "just" a menu, but at least we have enough evidence that shows us what you did so far. The biggest mistake TimFx made was that he didn't ask for help from others, except for the translation process. Don't make that mistake like he did and ask for help as soon as you don't know any further. I wish you good luck with this project. I hope that we will find enough people to finish this.
  12. @@Psyk0Sith He means this guy here, from Knights of the Old Republic.
  13. I know. I just wanted to show tompa9 that Han Solo doesn't look as realistic in Battlefront as he does in the promotional image.
  14. Actually, this Han Solo model is a rendering for promotional purpose. In the game, he doesn't look like that. This his how he really looks like in the game:
  15. @@Celzar Look at my reply I made in this topic a few months ago. https://jkhub.org/topic/7649-ja-carbon-freezing-chamber-texture-issues/
  16. You're welcome.
  17. It's right there: http://mrwonko.de/jk3files/Jedi%20Academy/Skins/Vehicles/30805/ It has been reskinned, but the model is the same of course.
  18. The model as seen in the last two pictures resembles Sebastian Shaw the most. The texture might not be perfect yet (especially the eyes), but you are going into the right direction.
  19. PCGameMods had a lot of reskins from default models, that's true. And maybe there were some files that weren't worth backing up. But that site had a great range mods, maps, models and even videos that couldn't be found anywhere else. A lot of people are still asking for certain maps that were only available on that site. That proves that PCGameMods wasn't popular for no reason.
  20. If I could choose a mod source outside JKHub, it would still be PCGameMods. JK3Files was great, no question, but I didn't like the forum and the behavior of some members, which was in no way comparable to what's going on here. As far as I remember, even modders with little experience have been treated like "You don't know your stuff? Then go f*ck yourself!" instead of giving some helpful advises. On PCGameMods on the other hand, you just went there, grabbed your files and left to play some more hours of Jedi Academy, because it had no forum at all (at least in its later years).
  21. It's been many years since pcgamemods.com, probably one of the greatest sources for Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast mods, went offline. Personally, I think it's a shame that this precious site ended up like that, as it had many rare mods that couldn't be found anywhere else. Fortunately, a backup of pcgamemods.com is still accessible through archive.org. https://web.archive.org/web/20070503212245/http://www.pcgamemods.com/ You can browse through the backup like in any other website. Some pictures might not be there anymore and some features might not work properly. But if you are looking for certain mods, you can still find them. The only downside is that you can't download anything, because the files are permanently unavailable.
  22. Finally a little bit more realism for the weapons. Looks great.
  23. Looks great! We need more high-quality map objects.
