  1. That's the spirit. I mean, why doing all the effort for nothing? Especially on a highly anticipated mod like this one. As far as I remember, Tim made lots of features, or at least planned them, and threw them all in the trash. Ten years of work, gone. Out of all the mods I've seen, this was the stupidest decision. But I bet he didn't believe that one day, someone would revive this project.
  2. @@Teancum That's right. The Battlefront games are more battle oriented, which requires a large battlefield. And thus the games have the necessary resources to handle such large maps. In Jedi Academy on the other hand, it requires some tricks to "cheat" about the size of the map. I think about a Geonosis map for Jedi Academy, which looks really huge. But in fact, it's a medium sized map with a skybox that makes it appear much larger than it actually is.
  3. Not that "P"-word again. The map might look great, but I think it should be made from scratch, to make it fit the graphical quality of Jedi Academy. The Battlefront II map could be used as a reference.
  4. Coincidentally, the original KotF has been canceled several years ago, on March 31/April 1. The developer said that he won't work on this project anymore, and that he wiped the entire mod files from his harddrive. Everyone on the mod's page was like "Yeah, I get it. It's an April Fools Joke. Now release the damn mod!". Well, it was not. On the other hand, it was a good move. Without the cancelation of the original mod, that project would have taken ages (the developer was notorious for frequently delaying the mod, even for trivial reasons). That's why I'm so happy that it has been rebooted. It's wonderful to see Knights of the Force 2.1 progressing. It's now bigger and better than ever.
  5. Every Indiana Jones game has been developed (and published) by LucasArts, including point and click games. (After all, the Indiana Jones movies are Lucasfilm productions.) The most popular ones are Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, which is considered by many fans as the Indiana Jones 4 as it should be, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
  6. Inspired by a topic about Sam & Max in the request section, I decided to start this topic. As the title says, this topic is about the adventure games made by LucasArts, especially the point & click games. And out of all those games, the Monkey Island series is the first that comes into my mind. As a kid, I got started with the Amiga versions of The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge. These are games of my childhood. To this day, I rather prefer the Amiga versions than any subsequent versions, because it has this unique old school feeling. Not even the Special Edition comes close to that experience. Last year, I've got the opportunity to play Day of the Tentacle from start to finish. But instead of playing it on PC as I usually would, I've played the PS4 version. Still, I recommend it to all who liked at least one of those classic adventure games. To me, the classic LucasArts adventure games are something I consider as unique, fun and challenging, even to this day. They prove that you don't necessarily need a 3D enviroment to have fun.
  7. @@OobidoobBenubi It seems that you have been one of those people who thought that this mod was a fake or didn't even exist, despite the many screenshots and videos. I can't blame you for that, because many have thought that way. Anyway, enjoy the mod.
  8. Quick answer: Yes. Knights of the Force has been rebooted and is now Knights of the Force 2.1. It uses the main assets of the original mod, but with heavy modifications. TimFx isn't involved in this project, as he abandoned it some years ago. If you haven't already, download the mod and see for yourself https://jkhub.org/files/file/3121-knights-of-the-force/. The mod is currently in the alpha stage, and only Multiplayer is working, but you can see that it is different from the original mod. And check out linken233's topic https://jkhub.org/topic/9105-developer-thread-linken233/.
  9. Finally an Arwing vehicle!
  10. Wait, what? I can't believe that this is actually happening. That is awesome! This has so much potential. Just think of all the possibilities we could have with that. If it will be possible to replace many of the standard models with higher quality versions, like the Stormtroopers, that would be cool.
  11. Yes, Jedi Outcast released for Gamecube. I actually own that version. It might not be the greatest way to experience Jedi Outcast, but it is something unique in a way. Some of the menus are different from the PC version and it has that Alzoc III demo map as a bonus stage. The only downside is that the cutscenes, while being identical to the PC version, are FMVs.
  12. It is.
  13. @@stealyosweetroll @@RJA Have you ever found the Zion map? If not, there it is: http://mrwonko.de/jk3files/Jedi%20Academy/Maps/Free%20For%20All/27033/
  14. @@Javitolo98 No matter how great a map looks, even if it's the best looking map of all time, it still depends on the mapper, not on the demand of others. To understand that, you have to experience how it is to create such a map or similar advanced modding projects. The only way to find out what happened to the map is to ask Sith-J-Cull (aka @JCulley3D) himself. However, he hasn't been on this site for a while. As far as I know, he's very busy concentrating on his own professional work rather than mapping. And with a job like Sith-J has, there is little room to work on maps like this one.
  15. @@Noodle Take a look at this: https://jkhub.org/files/file/3121-knights-of-the-force/ You are talking about the old KotF. The new version is totally different. It even has a better character selection menu, which is way better sorted and more intuitive. And speaking of characters, there are way more now than the old KotF had to offer, and in a better quality. On top of that, every content has got the permission by their authors, so you can consider this version as legal. Only Multiplayer is working right now, and the Singleplayer part seems to be broken still. So, coding is needed to get the Singleplayer mode working. Once it's working, the mod would take a huge step forward. But it seems that not many are willing to help in that.
  16. @ Can you be a little bit more specific? What is needed? EDIT: Nevermind. I didn't read the title properly. My bad.
  17. Actually, this reskin is pretty decent, especially the face texture. Sure, it's not perfect, but a good start at least. I've seen many reskins over the years, and this one is definitely not the worst.
  18. @@Javitolo98 How about you make a new topic, but in the WIP section this time? I mean, the whole topic didn't start with an idea or a request, but with a reskin of yours. And because you posted several pictures of your progress, it would be more appropiate for a WIP topic. Maybe @@eezstreet can move this topic?
  19. Looking back at the times when Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy were released, I was fascinated by the way how people created new content. Even if someone had little experience in modeling, there was still an ambition that inspired them to create things nobody did before. Most of the models back then, if not all custom models, were all made by hand. Today it's like "Port this, port that, port everything". Don't get me wrong, I'm not really opposed to porting, as long as parts of a model (e.g. the head) are worked well into another model. But what I really dislike is that whenever someone finds a model of a more recent game, or a model looks better than one we already have, they want the whole thing ported right away. The whole porting thing seems to get out of hand.
  20. That's a big collection, no question. But I wonder if he was allowed to share some of the Jedi Academy/Outcast models, like Mara Jade and @@DT85's Luke Skywalker model. At least he didn't give any credit for them. He simply mentions that he has them from Jedi Academy, that's all. Please not another guy who takes the work from others and uses them to his liking.
  21. Were they made for Jedi Academy? Or are they from other sources/games?
  22. First I thought someone secretly made a fantastic, jaw-dropping mod. I mean, Star Wars Dark Forces in uppercase letters, plus a really convincing picture, really was an invitation that said "Download me! I'm 13 bazillion Gigabytes!". In other words: I was looking for a BIG MOD, and all I got was this wallpaper. Come on, guys! Let's make (or finish) a mod that our community deserves.
  23. In other words, the descriptions of certain functions in the menu(s). Example: When you move the cursor over "OPTIONS", you will see a description that says "Configure game options." at the bottom on the screen.
  24. Doesn't really look like a robe. It rather looks like that kind of shirt Han Solo wore underneath his vest.
