  1. Sorry to bother you again, @@Scerendo. But now that more and more images from The Last Jedi are coming, I think I should leave some images here. We could have enough reference material to "update" Rey before the movie gets released. (Yes, I'm super excited for the movie)
  2. @@Vade Parvis Wait, you did all this by yourself? I know, you've ported one helmet and used some of the models made by Raven, but at least you added content made from scratch. This is madness! I've always wanted to see something like that, especially during a time where porting has become a standard.
  3. @@therfiles If you think about it, the fight reflects Luke's state of mind, but in a subtle way. You can say that there are three phases: First, he's defending himself, because he doesn't want to harm his father (after all, he initially wanted to kill Palpatine). Darth Vader is a little bit more powerful there than Luke. Secondly, he's getting more into an offensive phase and gets on par with Vader. Thirdly, after Vader threatens to turn Leia to the Dark Side, Luke is standing on the edge to the Dark Side. He gets more agressive and weakens Vader in the process. These phases were probably the lessons Luke had to learn, which would get him to the Light Side again. But these are just my thoughts about that. Now, about the mission: This sounds pretty interesting, actually. It shouldn't just be mashing buttons and hoping for the best, but something challenging without being unfair. Defending yourself while Darth Vader is temporarily invincible? Why not? It would be boring if you would make a lightsaber battle similar to the ones of Jedi Academy/Outcast.
  4. @@therfiles One more thing I have to praise is the camera work in the second build. Instead of trying to recreate the original angle, you gave it your own style. Especially the camera rotation is a clever way to mask certain things, like Vader handing the lightsaber to Palpatine. This is the opportunity to give this scene, regarding camera work, your own take. If you think you can't recreate it to match the movie, try to work around that and try something different. When you use the camera wisely, you can give some scenes a more cinematic feel. Also, I suggest a rotating/moving camera when Luke walks towards the window. The camera should be focused on him and rotate at a 45-90 degree angle.
  5. @@Jameson In all the years I know KotF, I've seen worse. As long as you don't spam the entire forum or post things like a bored 12 years old would, you don't need to apologize. You simply wanted to share your excitement about this mod with us. So what? It's better and more honest than making a pathetic attempt to gain attention. You know what I saw in other KotF related forum topics in the past (during the time of the original KotF)? Members were freaking out and littered the topics with spam and trolling. They even insulted each other and started fights with each other. There was no respect, no regrets, not even dignity. Some have been banned because of their behaviour, and one forum banned everything related to Knights of the Force. It was a nightmare. But here on JKHub, it's more peaceful when you talk about Knights of the Force, which is something I truly appreciate. So, go on and write anything what's on your mind regarding this mod. As long as you don't insult anyone, or spam anything, everything's alright.
  6. We're not annoyed at all. The only thing that was annoying was that everyone used Linken's topic to post random stuff that doesn't belong there. That's why I started this discussion topic, to give everyone the possibility to ask and talk about KotF whatever they want. Now, if you have any questions or anything related to KotF, don't hesitate and post them here.
  7. @@Langerd Most of the animations seen in the video are fine as they are. I really like it that it feels as if you watch the movie. The animations are not too flashy like you see in many games (such as KotOR, where everyone moves their arms around while talking). The only animations that are important, so I think, are Palpatine's laugh, Vader handing the lightsaber to him and a better animation for Luke while being handcuffed.
  8. The cutscene was well done. Not bad for a first build. It's a concept for something that could be interesting. Your project reminds me of a mission from the original Knights of the Force, which recreated this duel, but it was in an early alpha stage. It also gave you the option to choose whether to kill or spare Darth Vader. But I think your project will become the KotF mission on steroids. There is so much potential. I believe there will be members here to help you out. If you need more inspiration to make this mission "bigger", take a look at Star Wars Infinities: Return of the Jedi: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars_Infinities:_Return_of_the_Jedi
  9. Because @@Linken's development topic has gotten a little bit out of hand, I decided to start this one for anyone who wants to talk about this mod. You have something to say about KotF 2.1? Say it here. You want to talk about the old KotF by TimFx? Go on. You have any quick questions about this mod you want to have answered? Ask. Whatever it is, post it here, but please keep it civil and mind your language. After all, this is supposed to be a discussion topic, not a nonsense topic. If you need (technical) support for this mod, use this section: https://jkhub.org/forum/146-kotf-support/ If you have any suggestions for this mod, use this section: https://jkhub.org/forum/147-kotf-suggestions/ For anything outside KotF, use one of these sections in the spoiler: That way, you keep this and Linken's topic clean. Let the discussion begin!
  10. @@jauvtus Which version do you have? If you have the CD version, you should install this patch: https://jkhub.org/files/go/5990ae398f22db2c2d0b4889601d45da/jedi-academy-patch-pc If you have the Steam version, it should update automatically.
  11. Somebody already made a Dark Helmet model - by reskinning the Bobblehead Vader. It's not perfect, but at least we can say there is a Dark Helmet model available. http://mrwonko.de/jk3files/Jedi%20Academy/Skins/Celebrities/77783/
  12. @@KyleKatarn1995 Something similar has been made already by Neomarz. He also made Bobbleheads of Obi-Wan, Anakin and Darth Maul. Just give it a new texture, maybe one that resembles the Funko Pop! Bobblehead, modify the size of the NPC and you're done. At least the NPC part is something you can do easily. http://mrwonko.de/jk3files/Jedi%20Academy/Models/Model%20Pack/47248/
  13. The helmet makes more sense now. Whenever I looked at it, I had this feeling that it had something missing. Whatever the reason was, it was a pointless decision to remove the faceplate in the first place.
  14. I've played Skyrim as well as Breath of the Wild. The map of Breath of the Wild is not only larger than Skyrim, it's INSANE! Whenever you think you've already visited something, you always find something new. The ingame map might look small at first, but once you zoom in
  15. That sounds as if you have randomly applied several effects on a texture. As long as you don't have an idea how it will look on a model, don't do it all at once. But I think it's better that you keep the original texture, without any resizing or anything, and only concentrate on the bump map.
  16. The original texture is actually good as it is. In fact, it's the best version of the two, because it has everything needed for a basic texture. If you really want to improve a model, I suggest using a specular map (which is used to add reflections and details to a texture). That way, you can add details while keeping the original texture intact. I don't know how to do that, but I'm pretty sure somebody could help you with that.
  17. Yes, it's hard to see. Only if you look veeeery closely, you can see a face. But I wasn't really sure about that. Anyway, if you manage to make it a little more transparent, that would be great.
  18. @ Maybe you should make it transparent, just as initially planned by the developers.
  19. Looks like a cross between the Shoretrooper and the First Order Stormtrooper. Awesome! This could not only be good replacement for the Stormtroopers, but also for the Swamptrooper. Stormtrooper? Swamptrooper?
  20. @@Langerd I suggest a slightly improved version of this model. Get him his visor, a better face texture that doesn't remind you of Rosh and a melee weapon.
  21. @@Droidy365 It's been a while since I've edited it, and I don't know if I have the file anymore. But in the topic ThatOneGuy2486 linked above, the following line can be seen: head_plate_off,models/players/saboteur/saboteur_face_plate.tga So, it seems that the file needs to be a .tga file. Maybe you should try that.
  22. I was using Noesis, actually. I couldn't handle ModView back then, so I used that instead. The visor shows up directly on Noesis, I didn't have to enable it. That's how I found that visor.
  23. You mean that one? I've already made a topic about that some years ago, but with little respond (the picture above was made by me and used in that topic). So I tried to get it done myself, with a simple texture and by editing the skin-file. However, the visor didn't show up in the game. Making it visible would be cool, because the Saboteur reminds me of Rosh too much.
  24. I agree. The model just doesn't look right for Jedi Academy, in many ways. It's another example that proves why models like this one should be done from scratch rather than ported.
  25. @@Lord Revan A new, and better, Add/Load menu has been already confirmed. Also, over 900 NPCs will be available to choose from, from every era.
