Specter153 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 I was wondering if it would be at all possible to convert any of the following formats to .glm format:.ska.skb.tik.tan.ftx and if so how?
Xycaleth Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 If blender can open any of those files then you can use mrwonkos glm exporter
Specter153 Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 blender cannot open those tried it, got anyother ideas?
Kualan Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Blender won't be able to open them in its vanilla state - but have you looked to see if there are third-party plugins out there for Blender in those formats?
Specter153 Posted February 27, 2016 Author Posted February 27, 2016 yea havent found any and i tried porting them in quark but i kept getting error messagesAlso, the thing is that the model is in multiple files (Example: model.ska, model.skb, model.tik, model.tan, model.ftx) and unless i am wrong, i would have to port all of these into one .glm file and i have no idea on how to do that
Lancelot Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 No googling necessary. Here it is. https://jkhub.org/files/file/1945-noesis/
Specter153 Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Wont import those kind of files unless you know where to find the plugins
Specter153 Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Update: it looks like i did manage to port it over to a glm file but when i did i got a "No weight or bones pallet defined, weighting mesh to root" did I do something wrong?
Asgarath83 Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Update: it looks like i did manage to port it over to a glm file but when i did i got a "No weight or bones pallet defined, weighting mesh to root" did I do something wrong? I cannot help with blender weight because i using max, but you cannot simply convert a model into a format for another game and expect it automatically works. for works into JKA you need to rig the model to JKA skeleton.
Specter153 Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Is there a good tutorial on here for this?
Circa Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 I don't know of any weighting tutorials for Blender. Most people use 3DS Max or Softimage Mod Tool for that.
Specter153 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 what about animations for softimage and you cant modify the source code so these file types are compatable can you?
eezstreet Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Noesis is a tool for converting from one file format to another. If these file formats are supported by it, you don't need Softimage to support them.
Archangel35757 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 3ds Max has plug-ins and max scripts to import those file types you originally listed. Then you can export to GLM using @@Scooper's exporter or convert to GLM using the 3dsMax DOTXSI exporter & compile a GLM with Carcass 2.2
