Star Wars Episode VII Discussion

Franfully, there are just so many spoilers, that it is difficult to decipher the whole puzzle. With the release of the next trailer (oh, and very-very soon by the way!) the shroud of secrecy will disappear. We'll have more shots to be analyzed by various fans and a whole bunch of concept art leaked by summer.

 

I can't believe, that the film will be released this year!

Sadly true, concept art don't reveal much of the film.  We're still waiting for the snow to melt and grass to grow..  SW7 will hit theaters next Christmas

Glad to see R2D2 is in this film! Harrison Ford and R2D2 are so far the only reasons for me to be excited about Ep7.

 

I'm glad they've got the old gang back in there too and that they are using less CGI. I just watched part of Robocop today and it looks way better than the new one, even with stop motion ED-209's and matte paintings. Hopefully the new films will look like the original ones a bit and these new actors aren't so wooden.

I have to disagree - the concepts actually show a lot. Not just the ideas that would eventually end being seen in the film and the unused material, but also the path from one idea to another.

I think they say it's from a toy. It's funny, because I was searching for leaked images myself about three days ago, with the words for "The Force Awakens action figures" or "Star Wars Lego sets The Force Awakens 2015", you know. And it showed nothing. This level of secrecy is disturbing. =))))

 

While there no pictures I am not even interested in reading any spoilers, which are now many. I were thinking, that before and after the trailer we had absolutely no iconic things shown anywhere.

 

We see the Millenium Falcon though, some details from classic stormtroopers, X-wing like ships and other minor things. No pictures, including concept art showed any aliens close to OT of the prequels, no classic speeders (but pretty much classic TIEs), no Rebels, Mon Calamari cruisers, other things like architecture of Alderaan of Coruscant, Bespin, etc.

 

It's clear, they will turn up eventually, maybe even in two weeks time! But I think there is a reason, we see no Jawas or Tuskens, also no Ewoks and Ishi Tib. Neither Duros or Neimodians. And no Imperial officers.

 

Such characters could be a hint and a major spoiler. Whilst J.J. and the team don't want that to happen just yet.

 

But I really want to see Jawas. Yes. For me they are a symbol, that Star Wars continue and will continue no matter what happens - Malak destroys Taris, or Darth Vitiate makes another body host, or Dooku banishes Ventress from his domain, or Motti is choked to death by some man in black armor.

It is believed to be the scene aboard the Star Destroyer with two characters. One of the them is the Phasma captain, played presumably by Gwendoline Christie. The other one is an Imperial, played by Gleeson. The hologram shows the character in stormie armor from the trailer released a few months ago.

It doesn't look like a professional drawing or a concept art. But it might be a sketch or a shot from a storyboard.

 

You know what they are like. They have nothing to do with clarity, beauty or final design. They are merely a line of scenes, which follow one after another.

 

If they showed several such screens, it would have been much clearer what is going on in the story.

This is a good interview, but the thing that caught my attention was the lack of beard on Mark's face
This video was published on youtube last January, so I'm going to belive, that this interview was done not long ago.
So..  do we get to see Luke the hermit being bathed and shaved before possibly going to Coruscant e.g. `???

Are these actual characters since IMDB lists three characters known as Korr Sella, Cloaked Messenger, and Kata Koio on the list of characters.Looks like there is going to be some form of space battle judging by the list of side characters since "Rebel Admiral" is shown but I don't know if that is official or not.

The list is most likely unofficial. Even if the names are in the film, the list must have been created by someone, who either knows something or implies these characters might be there. Usually the fake lists included names such as Jaina Solo or Admiral Thrawn. IMDB also showed such things, and certain actors hinted in their twitters, that one mustn't believe all they read in the Internet. And thus Jaina Solo was removed from there.

 

Personally IMDB includes strange names sometimes in Episode VII.

 

Rebel Admiral might be shown during a briefing or aboard the bridge. But large battles are sure to be seen in the film more than once. 

 

I can't wait for the trailer. I do like to analyze it and put pieces together before the release of the film. The characters, planets, legacy and others.

That should be soon. They've supposedly announced that a 2nd trailer will be shown in theaters, when Avengers 2 premiers, this May

Star Wars Underworld published this picture. We can see the already familiar shots from the trailer. Also it includes a new picture of the new stormtrooper. And yes, we can see the full armor now!
